- All good things come to an end and after more than 60 years, that now includes the Delta family of rockets. A name historically synonymous with launch in the United States had its swan song on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, with the launch of the 16th and final Delta IV Heavy rocket. It carried with it a classified payload on behalf of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) on the NROL-70 mission.
