I really wish we got to see Malakai Black perform in singles matches more often. He always brings such a unique style to the ring when he's allowed to flex his MMA background and do these more shoot style matches.
Also, holy crap that "blood" came down with such force, looked like it was being sprayed out of a firehose rather than poured from a bucket or something
Seeing Adam in that black suit again, I knew he was gonna bust that out to start teaching Malakai a lesson or two about being a spooky wrestler

He also killed Cody Rhodes entirely. He debuted and great he's supposed to look strong but he squashed Cody and Cody was never over again in AEW.

Cody would have been perfectly fine if he stayed, he was definitely over, and was eliciting big reactions, they were just John Cena esque. If he wasn't over, he would have got silence from the audience like Sammy Guevara and Saraya do now. And more importantly, he would have never been able to pull off "Finishing the Story" if he wasn't mad over.
If I had to guess why Cody started getting booed, a part of it probably came from the fact that he didn't re-sign with AEW and that info got leaked early, combined with smarks just being smarks, just like they did with Cena.

Excellent match and finish followed by a dramatic segment. AEW has found a nice balance of maintaining great in-ring action and incorporating the entertaining theatrics. This was all perfectly done.

Best match of this Dynamite. AEW seriously needs to go in this direction in terms of in ring wrestling. Do it like how they do it in MLW where they showcase a variety of styles in a combat sports/sports entertainment presentation. They can present it like a couple of the matches they already did like this match (where it's more MMA like pro wrestling), The Claudio vs Josh Barnett match last year at the Wrestle Dream Zero Hour & The Wardlow vs Brian Cage match where you got the big men integrating power moves & X division moves. That's the direction AEW should go moving forward.
Everything is pre-planned. 😂 The way malakai raised hand and look above his head, to make sure the position where to stand 😂
