Your recordings will remain in your DVR for 9 months, after which they will be permanently deleted

Yep, kinda counter-intuitive. Anyway, to find the check mark on the TV, go to the show box in the LIBRARY. Click on the box to open it. Click BROWSE EPISODES, and the check mark will appear. Click the check mark and it will return to the + sign and stop future recordings.
