As crazy as it may sound, Tasks has brought me back to Evernote. The “recurring from completion” is the feature I use a lot and what has kept me using Toodledo as my task manager. Now I can integrate my tasks into Evernote and use the calendar for my productivity hub with generating notes from calendar events. Love the updates.
Absolutely love the new task feature. I finally cancelled my Todist and move back to Evernote. My only suggestion that I find missing is a "snooze" feature like all the to-do apps. So often a task alert pops up but you're on a call or in a meeting and you need to snooze for an hour, 3 hours, custom, whatever. Would really help out. But in the meantime love the new tasks.
Strongly agree. I've been using Evernote for 12 years but Tasks have not met my needs so recently I have been trialling Amplenote which has drag and drop time blocking in calendar view. In my case, I would prefer to drag and drop tasks in the order I need to get them done. This may be different to the priority set on the task. Evernote and Amplenote allow me to drag and drop tasks within a note but not in a list of tasks across multiple notes. Amplenote also supports drag and drop for time blocking in calendar view but I would like the functionality in a list format, not just in calendar view. Sub-tasks would also be most welcomed.
Happy to see Evernote finally strikes back after years of no changes and improvements . I think all recent changes are definitely the right vector. I decided to give EN another chance and switching back from todoist. Thank you and really hope you will continue to do what you did last few months!
Great overview of you’re tasks. Three things for improvements: Additional to task per notebook also filter on specific notebook. Also the same, but then with tags(I use tags as projects and context, and third: If you filter notelist and go to task and back to notelist, the notelist filter has been reset. These thing will truly help managing my tasks.
Agree and support this! 👉 I mainly use Tags as a projects. And notebooks as supperior areas of my projects. 👉🙏🏻Till tags will not be possible to filter or see tasks according to, it’s not usable. 👉Keep view - definetly add too. 👉☝️ And won’t do or ❌ is also important!
APIs. Tasks in Evernote still lack APIs. This means no way to synchronize with task aggregators like Akiflow, for instance, or Zapier or anything else. A huge thing for power users.
You’re doing a great job with EN, getting better each week. Adding tags to task would be great. And the possibility to add widgets for tagged tasks in the startscreen.
I am so pleasantly surprised by all the great work going on with Evernote. I've moved my tasks from Things and find it's so much easier to stay on top of everything in Evernote, where all my projects already live. Two minor things: as someone else mentioned, it'd be nice to be able to print out tasks. Also, it'd be good if I could include hotlinked URLs in the description field, as often times the task at hand has to do with some website dashboard I need to use.
Would LOVE to see tags exposed as metadata within a task so additional flexibility with task management is available. Tags are a great way for a user to customize their workflow and add additional clarity to to their task management actions.
I appreciate all of the work on Tasks!... I really depend on this functionality in Evernote. One request please (which I've submitted on the site as well)... can you please make it so we can open Tasks in its own window???? We have "Open in new window" available for every note; I'd really like to have my Tasks open in another window at all times so I can keep it visible while I work. Thanks again!
These are very usable and practical updates! Different topic- I am a longtime Evernote user and am confused as to why you would make the changes you did to Scannable? With the update, I cannot 'Send' or 'Save'. It only 'Saves' and took away the option of what Notebook I can save the document in? Why are you reducing the efficiency of this app? This was a huge part of how I am able to Capture information.
Tasks is coming along great! I was honestly shocked to see all of the improvements. There is one feature that’s missing that I use quite frequently on my preferred task manager app and that’s the ability to have embedded or sub tasks under a parent task. It’s makes organizing tasks with multiple steps that much easier.
I am a bit "old school" in that I would like to print the Tasks for "Today". I work as a realtor and am in the "field" much of the day. I do my updates when I am back in the office for efficiency and thoroughness in details. I do love the new Task section and I am transitioning to it now.
I love using Evernote but find the handwriting and sketching features lacking compared to apps like GoodNotes. Could you please consider the following improvements? 1. Smoother Handwriting: Improve pen responsiveness and fluidity. 2. Advanced Pen Options: More styles, colors, and sizes. 3. Enhanced Sketching: Shape recognition and better pressure sensitivity. 4. Better Handwriting-to-Text Conversion: More accurate and faster recognition. 5. Improved Annotation Tools: Easier organization and integration of handwritten notes. These enhancements would make Evernote much more powerful for users who rely on handwriting. Thank you for considering these suggestions.
Hello Federico, kindly Implement the following points in tasks:- 1)Drag and droppable tasks in calender view (must have) 2)week view 3)shortcuts to create tasks Then only it would be an enjoyable and Truly useful tasks section and evernote would truly be unstoppable.i am longterm evernote user
Really like what you're doing with EN. I was thinking about leaving, but since Bending Spoons took over, I'm here for good! One thing that you could look at though; tasks in EN iPhone calendar don't relate to the note they are attached to, just the default task note. Thanks for what you're doing.
Thank you for your encouragement! We are constantly working on making our product the best it can be, and we forwarded your feedback to the product team. 💚
Loving the improvements but hesitant to use Evernote for my task and project management because of the inability to drag and drop on calendar to change due dates.
Some essential things to be added to the Tasks function: 1. A "My day" list of tasks were tasks due today are added automatically but also the user can add tasks that are not necessarily due today (without changing the due date). 2. Subtasks. Much easier to handle and visible in the tasks section without having to go the note where the task is and manually creating check lists under the task. 3. Metadata visible in the mobile app. It is ridiculous to be able to add them but not being able to actually see them in the task list on your phone. 😅 4. Faster opening in the mobile version. I still get sleepy until getting to my tasks. 5. Faster sync guys, faster sync! 😆 I change or complete tasks on my phone but on my computer they are still not synced or in state of flux.
Yes! Having an option to clear completed tasks would reduce visual clutter! Even for recurring tasks, they should be temporarily cleared until they reset and become active again. I do enjoy the ability to separate tasks into different notebooks. That is clever and useful.
Great features and improvements on the 'Tasks' - love it. I have been a user of Todoist for tasks and Evernote for all other stuff. I would love to move to Evernote for my task management pretty soon. Waiting for the natural language feature :)
Guys please, add possibility to press "Enter" for formatting a text while writing description for a task. Right now the whole description is one long text, you can't split it in blocks
Looks great evolution! But something every single task manager forget is to add a button to complete a task in first stage but the option to be followed up in a couple days for an answer example of that task and being able to record the history of a primal task that eventually could converts in a project within few post tasks… will be incredible! So many times a completed task is lost waiting for an answer or process to that task…and finally you lost the lifecycle of that initial task.. keep going!
I really enjoy using the new tasks experience, and it has made Evernote much more functional for me. The old way was not optimal by any means. I am very curious what you're going to do with Home. Will you be able to make tasks and notes interactive on the Home screen? Is the home screen going to disappear and will all the functionality end up in the sidebar? Thanks so so much for all the improvements you've been making.
C'est une grande amélioration de la fonction taches que j'utilise au quotidien. Cependant il manque toujours la date de création de la tâche qui permet de voir son ancienneté si nous l'avons reportée plusieurs fois. Cordialement Jacky
With the new changes that have been made, could you please instruct on how to sort notes by reminder date? They now seem to be scattered, rather than sorted in order of ascending or descending reminder dates. Please advise.
Exciting to see Evernote changing after years of stagnation. I have been unable to upload photos or notes on my android app for the last 2 years. I can only email them to my Evernote address but that's subpar and I need to edit my notes on the go. Have been a paying user for the last 12 years and have never gotten support to help me despite multiple efforts and helpdesk tickets... I wonder if the support can help now? I would love to bring the editing of the created date back. I used to create notes and then edit them to reflect the date they were meant to be associated with. I think it was still available in the Legacy version but it's now not working anymore. Is it in the plans to bring this functionality back?
I've been enjoying Evernote Tasks as well, though the notifications are broken on my Pixel 8 Pro phone and have been since October. I missed bills and due dates for work because my phone doesn't show me any reminders from Evernote at all. Multiple support tickets have gone unanswered, so my only recourse has been to stop using Tasks for anything time sensitive.
You guys are crushing it. Please, please fix the recurring tasks bug where completed recurring tasks don’t reset to the next date. They revert back to over due.
Great work! I am often adding “waiting for” (w4) in the task when I wait for somebody else in order to complete the task. Would be easier if you could add this as a tag to the task, to filter out all tasks where you are still waiting on others to do stuff… thanks
Still looking for API’s for tasks evernote.. Want to sync with my task mgmt app. EN is where I think, plan, project - EN paying customer for 10+ years. Tasks I run in another app.. Can you get the API for tasks sorted please?
Mira soy usuaria en español, y no hay forma de regresar a la configuración anterior en Iphone , es un PROBLEMA y PERDIDA DE TIEMPO ENCONTRAR TODAS MIS LIBRETAS Y NOTAS
Let’s say you have four different projects with several tasks assigned in each. Every task has a due date. Is there a way to click one button and see what is due today regardless of what project it happens to be linked to? In other words… Is there a list of everything I’ve got to get done today?
Very good improvements. I'd love to be able to drag and drop tasks within these lists to change their order across all views but especially in the Today view and within projects/notebooks. This functionality could be accomplished by adding a filter named "Manual" which I've seen in other productivity systems and works well alongside the more structured database driven approach Evernote is currently using.
Thank you for the update and all the excellent changes you are making to Evernote. Maybe the next step in order to make the tasks more manageable could be being able to assign 1 or 2 categories to each task. So for example, a task would have priority, category X, category Y, and each category value would be customizable in the name and color of the label in order to visually differentiate each task within the list. Usually the priority label is not enough, as it doesn't reflect (to name a few typical examples) the urgency, complexity, GTD context, kanban status of the task. In my case, I need to label tasks within the same note, with the complexity of it (quickwin, big proyect, medium proyect, etc) in order to decide which task to get into, but I'm afraid I can't differentiate tasks within the same note right now, besides the priority. I hope this could be implemented in the future.
Realson why I don't use Evernote Tasks yet is that I miss the option for (recurring) subtasks. However, it would only be useful if the main task is automatically completed when the subtasks are completed. No other task manager does that, not even ToDoist (my present p)reference)
I missed the email stating that the pricing was going up to $129.99. I don't want to subscribe for that amount. My card was charged today and that is how I discovered the price change. There is no one to contact to rectify this situation. I don't want to renew. I would have canceled had I saw the email that said the price was going up. I have already cancelled for further subscriptions but I have already been charged for another year.
MAke Evernote tasks as good as Todoist (saying because I just love Evernote & want to use it for tasks as well ).Make tasks coloured based on priority, subtasks ,shortcuts to create tasks and task duration (all should be like todoist) .Please do this !.Also Evernote Calendar Event functionality and integration is so good that you should attach it with tasks (tasks inside events )
Who uses Evernote for time management in the first place? There are plenty of better tools for scheduling, time management, and task management. Instead of wasting time adding features that can't keep up, focus on making it run fast, record quickly, and search accurately. I'd be willing to pay more for that.
Hi, I received an unexpected charge for what looks like an annual subscription to my Visa card. My subscription expired in 2018. Not being able to reach you for comment, I have referred the transaction to my bank as unknown and they have taken it up with their financial crime department. I don't have a sub and I'm not paying for anyone else's sub so please reverse the charge to my card and delete my payment method permanently from your system Thanks.
Every month it just keeps being worse. All free users was cut with their abilities to save notes, to create folders, experiencing AGRESSIVE ADVERTS and NOW they just allows ONE DEVICE instead of two IT'S NOT FAIR AT ALL. Premium should mean upgrading experience, it shouldn't mean CUT, DOWNGRADING AND REMOVING ALREADY EXISTING FEATURES for other users Don't store with them any important notes. Someday they just will shut down every single feature NO SINGLE APP OR COMPANY SHOULD ACT LIKE THIS!
"Look at all the features we added that nobody wants! We spent all this effort so we didn't have to pay any attention to the the basics of protecting user data and creating an app that users actually want!"

We're so happy you're coming back! Thank you for your insights, they are relayed to the team. 🚀
Please put tags option in search option! Tag is crutial in evernote and in tasks too.
That's great ! Now you need to link the tasks to Evernote Calendar so we can time block according to the tasks we need to do !

Tho, the new full screen view is brilliant! Love the Notebook and Today views specifically!
Great to see the improvements ... thank's for sharing. I like the direction it goes with task management in Evernote. 👍
Thank you for your feedback! We won't stop improving our product. 💚

Love everything you guys are doing! Thank you.
Wow and that is what you call a warm up wonder what the running is going to add to Evernote. All these features is essential. Thank you.
Couldn't agree more!

I'll just echo others - TERRIFIC new feature! Well explained and organized tutorial as well. THANK YOU.
Tag is crucial and critical in TASKS too, please make it a top priority
I am very happy to have the description added to a task. Hoping to see this added to Mobile/tablet format!?!?
I am a bit "old school" in that I would like to print the Tasks for "Today". I work as a realtor and am in the "field" much of the day. I do my updates when I am back in the office for efficiency and thoroughness in details. I do love the new Task section and I am transitioning to it now.

Love the improvements.
We appreciate your encouragement. Thank you!
great progress in tasks 👍🏻 I like it very much!
Glad you like it!
Nice to see these improvements! NLP support would make this even better.
Loving the new Evernote but am finding a few bugs in recurring tasks not working properly once ticked completed.
Always happy to see fantastic new features. Just guys remember to keep stability and speed as the number one ranking priority.
Absolutely! Thank you for your kind words and continuous support 💚

Loving the improvements but hesitant to use Evernote for my task and project management because of the inability to drag and drop on calendar to change due dates.
Could you guys enable syntax highlighting on web shared notes? Would be awesome! Great product that i keep myself using more and more, thanks!
It would be nice and very usefull to add an option to create a task from Slack with the Evernote connection.
Looks good. Keep working on it.
We're really grateful for your support!
wow that was amazing, I would like to ask you to please add the preview when you copy the link of a page to an Evernote note.
Great job!
I would love to see defer dates for tasks.

Any chance of print preview on the phone? It’s taken a while but I love the updated version
I am sure others will ask. I see the new task list is in the online version and windows. Waiting on support in iPad & Samsung Note.
C'est une grande amélioration de la fonction taches que j'utilise au quotidien. Cependant il manque toujours la date de création de la tâche qui permet de voir son ancienneté si nous l'avons reportée plusieurs fois.

With the new changes that have been made, could you please instruct on how to sort notes by reminder date? They now seem to be scattered, rather than sorted in order of ascending or descending reminder dates. Please advise.

Looking good. Tags for individual tasks would be good, so that tasks can be sorted this way. Custom fields anyone...?
Please can we have clickable links in the description - web urls and internal note links
I manage my tasks in lists in iOS and Mac OS Reminders. Is there a plan to have the ability to sync between Reminders and Evernote?
I'd like to be able to SORT (not just filter) Tasks by Priority, so I don't lose sight of the non-priority ones within a view
Evernote tasks can be found based on description from task search box in desktop app But NOT on mobile app .Please work on this
Is there a start date for each task to make them disappear until they can be actionable ?
You guys are crushing it. Please, please fix the recurring tasks bug where completed recurring tasks don’t reset to the next date. They revert back to over due.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, we'll look into it!
@@evernote thank you!!
Please add possibility to sort tasks by priority directly on task list interface, without going to special menu
Great work! I am often adding “waiting for” (w4) in the task when I wait for somebody else in order to complete the task. Would be easier if you could add this as a tag to the task, to filter out all tasks where you are still waiting on others to do stuff… thanks
WHAT??? Someone forgot to lock out the Comments Section. 🤯 (The AI Generated Guy is looking pretty realistic despite being low rez)
Still looking for API’s for tasks evernote.. Want to sync with my task mgmt app. EN is where I think, plan, project - EN paying customer for 10+ years. Tasks I run in another app.. Can you get the API for tasks sorted please?
How do I delete a finished task! New to Evernote! thanks
Hi!, i dont see the notebook feature on iPad, is it only for desktop?
Please fix this: I'll check off a task and then minutes later it'll pop back up in the list like it was never checked off.
Mira soy usuaria en español, y no hay forma de regresar a la configuración anterior en Iphone , es un PROBLEMA y PERDIDA DE TIEMPO ENCONTRAR TODAS MIS LIBRETAS Y NOTAS
Can you please include/add the ability to EXPAND ALL and COLLAPSE ALL sections (in notebook, notes and today).
Let’s say you have four different projects with several tasks assigned in each. Every task has a due date. Is there a way to click one button and see what is due today regardless of what project it happens to be linked to? In other words… Is there a list of everything I’ve got to get done today?
Would not the Today view in Tasks do that?
Plz help me! My evernote search is not working. I have a lot of data. Plz help me it’s important
Thank you for the new task view. Can you add an option to filter by notebook and tags for tasks?
How much does it cost for premium users to filter tasks, since this is a functionality premium users don't have.
This might be solvable if they add Tags to Tasks
Brill. Love the notebooks view. Great on the phone
I think the full window view is better and I like the filter options. I'll need to give it some more time for other thoughts
please bring ist to the mobile Apps!
Realson why I don't use Evernote Tasks yet is that I miss the option for (recurring) subtasks. However, it would only be useful if the main task is automatically completed when the subtasks are completed. No other task manager does that, not even ToDoist (my present p)reference)
It is not always useful. There are instances when you want to check the last subtask but not yet complete the main task.

Its hard not to take Evernote as a key player again in this space.
If you add the ability to save elements such as context, time and energy to tasks - you are ready for GTD.
😊 I want a Widget on Windows 11 Desktop - but i know that is not supported. 😕
All free users was cut with their abilities to save notes, to create folders, experiencing AGRESSIVE ADVERTS and NOW they just allows ONE DEVICE instead of two
IT'S NOT FAIR AT ALL. Premium should mean upgrading experience, it shouldn't mean CUT, DOWNGRADING AND REMOVING ALREADY EXISTING FEATURES for other users
Don't store with them any important notes. Someday they just will shut down every single feature
NO SINGLE APP OR COMPANY SHOULD ACT LIKE THIS!
"Look at all the features we added that nobody wants! We spent all this effort so we didn't have to pay any attention to the the basics of protecting user data and creating an app that users actually want!"
