FG Centre Left ???? That is as accurate as Ciara allowing her guests to get a word in edgewards. Would be better if she just gave a speach rather than telling every contributor what they should think.
Why is she trying to push Labour into government? What has it got to do with her to push that agenda? Record shows how badly smaller parties come out of these coalitions because the Irish electorate, in their infinite wisdom, hammer them for the failures of the big 2.
Thr Greens were punished because they pushed policies that hurt the Irish people, not because they were wrongly blamed for thr failures of the other 2. The policies they pushed were engineered by them alone, increased carbon tax, Dail bike shed, bottle deposit scheme etc.
ALL THE BIG PARTIES IN IRELAND ARE RIGHTISTS, WITH SOME WOKE SENSIBILITIES APPENDED. Having come back from Canada, I can see how they're all right-wing and profess wokeism to please their Brussels masters.
North Korea, China, Russia and the other oppressive regimes only have one party that does nothing else but oppress its own people. So keep the political diversity at all cost, no matter what they stand for

Voters afraid of SF....Law and Order a big issue especially in rural Ireland..They seem lukewarm supporting Gardai and the courts...Pity really Housing policy is spot on
It's proportional representation, we get the Dail we vote for, unlike say Britain, where Labour have 60% or the seats on 33% of the vote, or the US, where the second placed candidate can win.
FG is not centre left, at least not in the Irish perspective of politics that's for sure and this is an Irish election. Comparing us to the US and the UK parties to fluff up your own bias is cringeworthy.
The result is a total mystery to me but it will not be just us suffering now it will be all of these EU representatives as well get the popcorn ready and watch the new Irish vote all these out at least there is a glimmer of light when Trump get in

The Greens were by and large a single issue party who were more than content to follow FFFG’s brand of politics to see the green agenda forwarded. It was also much more palatable for FFFG to assimilate green issues into their PFG given the wider narrative around environment. Other than the green agenda, the GP had no influence and had to tow the government line constantly (to the apparent behest of many members). Labour on the other hand, have called for (in Bacik’s own words) a radical reset in Irish housing policy and have campaigned on a very progressive agenda which is totally incompatible with a FFFG government. They may be able to continue the green agenda, or forward some minor, more palatable policies but they will be swallowed by the near majority government and will not be able to implement any truly meaningful change. Going into government would see them wiped out (again) in the next election. They need to be pragmatic and sway from playing hero ball. They, along with SD should sit in opposition as part of a broad left bloc that opposes the government and campaigns for a true alternative left government from day 1 of the new Dàil
Labour and Water meters..
Never forget the water meters and "Labour's way or Frankfurts way". Labour dedicated to destruction of working class Irish.
Very difficult to hear his perspective when she spent the whole interview talking herself

fergus has this right, please labour do not prop up the FFG machine
Kelly and the water charges
Maybe what Ireland needs is a right wing government just a thought .

Divide and rule
FG being "centre-left" is a new one on me.
No she's aghast like the rest of us that they'd rather live on ideals than actually doing something. I'd never vote labour after this farce
😂😂😂
BT international standards they are definitely left wing
@@od9694 why would you rate national political leanings on international standards?
Sounds like a sneak way to skew the Overton Window…
@@dedbatt8869 honesty!!! calling FFG right wing isn't really true
They cant wait to get their Snouts in the trough..
Newstalk is owned by a German company so they are not entitled to comment or force policy on anything Irish.
Woke yoke out.
It's late in the night, I'm tired and can't hear what the TD from Labour is saying because the host keeps cutting accross him and talking over him.
The presenter constantly talking over the interviewee is really really professional
Ye can call FG "left" when they come up with any policy that is not based on market economics and private provision.. Same with the Greens.
Why are Spewstalk blocking comments they disagree with? Call yerselves 'Journailsts' lol
That's fine.I don't want Labour in Government either.
Nobody needs Labour..?
The Comrades have got that Right… 😂
They're really not that far left

He's afraid to end up like the greens next time and probably better off not in gov
We have way to many parties, all doing much the same thing . Nothing
North Korea, China, Russia and the other oppressive regimes only have one party that does nothing else but oppress its own people. So keep the political diversity at all cost, no matter what they stand for
Then overthrow the government

Irish politics needs a complete overhaul, it’s more fake and fixed than any American politics you worry so much about
In what way is it fixed?

@@kercysmetalhand that all parties are similar. Ireland is under a Political monopoly.

There are no trades available to build these houses! So, they can waffle about housing all they like.

Well if they prop up these two right wing party's then that will be the end of the labour movement in Ireland

FFFG + Sidekicks or FFFG + Sidekicks. That was the so called choice and that's why most could not be bothered voting.

I agree
2:00 Agree with the presenter here … the fact that we don’t even know which party is centre right or centre left
They should absolutely go into government if given the chance. An actual chance to implement their policies.
Zero chance if in opposition.
labour were punished because joan had meltdown and said some things that didnt go down well with labours core in dublin
3:20 everyone talks about housing but no body actually has an executable plan.. why can’t we build apartments
