It replaces the LG 48 C1 OLED, and it's available in a smaller 42-inch size with a headphone jack and wide-set feet that make it easier to use as a PC monitor. It has gaming features most high-end TVs have, like HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, a 120hz panel, and variable refresh rate (VRR) support, but it lacks other features monitors normally have, like a DisplayPort connection and an ergonomic stand. As it's a TV, it's also easy to stream content while you're not gaming as it has a built-in smart system, a tuner, and image processing features, so you don't need to use your PC to watch movies and shows.
For gaming im in the middle between competitive and open world casual gaming. I chose this monitor because I have a really good pc capable of pushing graphics to max at high frames so I want a great picture. I played star citizen even though it’s terribly optimized and unfinished but it is absolutely insane how detailed the blacks and colors are. I had a 27 in 1440p ips monitor before at 144hz. Thank you so much for answering my last question and I need to ask one more because I have one of these monitors on order. The review was perfectly spot on - I loved it! Great work! I want a monitor like this, but I want more pixels, because it's useful for software development. I currently have a MSI Prestige 34" with 5120*2160@60hz and though it's amazing, I am tired of the 60hz. I have the original 120hz monitor. I’ve been eyeing this now For 3 days . Do you think it’s worth the upgrade to get this new version ? I just upgraded to a 4090 with a 7800x3d.
But it is not 4K, so HDMI 2.1 is kinda useless anyway. You also can't really use nextgen consoles on it, because of the 3440x1440 you can only play at 1440p without HDR on XSX and on PS5 with HDR but only 1080p.
As said, this is a PC gaming monitor only. My biggest complaint is it's not DisplayPort 2.0 which would offer over double the 175 Hz and in 10-bit. Instead DP 1.4a is the bottleneck here with 175 Hz @ 8-bit fully saturating the DisplayPort.
It's like console peasants are just baffled on why this ultrawide monitor not using HDMI 2.1 lol uhhhh cuz Sony and m$ doesn't support 3440x1440p lol never gets old stick with your fake 4k and play games
I ordered in April and it just arrived a couple days ago, sooooo loooooong. I am already enjoying the monitor but can't wait for the weekend for a proper long session of pixel pushing. One thing coming off a 4K 34" is while the screen initially felt so much more constrained because of the narrower height, once you start playing it becomes more immersive and the curve takes you in. That is something even the taller screen could never do.
its an impressive monitor but i'd advise to wait for the second generation of qd oled monitors. also, if you are on 4k already, it's not really worth it stepping down to 1440p again, even if its an oled. i'd like to see a QD OLED 32" 4k flat screen 165-240hz.
AW3423DW looks great, and the image quality is truly a game changer. I have had this monitor for a week or so, and I am all ready experiencing issues with a lot of flickering in certain games. Sadly there are many people experiencing the same. The flickering goes away if I turn off G-Sync. Turing off VRR in windows settings, but leaving on G-sync helped for me, but it still flickers when in game menu is active. The sad part is that you cannot update the firmware, which means that if you are having issues that they fix in a later firmware, you are stuck on the current firmware. The sad part is that you cannot update the firmware, which means that if you are having issues that they fix in a later firmware, you are stuck on the current firmware. I am currently on the M0B102 firmware.
Unfortunately, this is a problem that occurs when using both Gsync & VRR at the same time. So much so, in fact, that monitors now advertise "Flicker Free" as a selling point. Also unfortunately, the problem is *_most significant_* on OLED displays probably because they're so new. My C1 OLED TV also displays flickering but only when connected to my NVIDIA GPU - when gaming on my PS5 there *_absolutely zero_* flicker.
Love the aesthetic design of this display, but I just cant use a desk stand these days. Monitor arm *_ALL THE WAY!_* Frees up so much desk space *_and_* looks extremely good as well.
Nice video, great break down on the monitor. Waiting time for delivery on this monitor is ridiculous, 2 months? Well I have 2 months to decide just in case there’s a better monitor coming, but I think this one is the one. Sticking to my Alienware line.
If Alienware/Dell creates a proper 4k QD-OLED monitor, I would be more than willing to pick it up. I have the widescreen QD-OLED at 2k, but it's stuck in limbo because of border customs. I would have had the Alienware monitor by now if it wasn't for that.
My LG 34GK950F-B started dying after just 2 years and since it's now "out of warranty" I went ahead and ordered this Alienware. Really hoping this one lasts a bit longer.
Nay! I picked the 34 inch & the 24.5 Im currently looking for mounts not sure if I should wall mount it or use a monitor arm. But Im looking to put the 34 inch horizontal and the 24.5 inch to the left of it vertically what would be my best option? Thanks in advance!
This thing feels far better then my 360hrz monitor. I think it's time we really stop following trends and start looking at comparing fps vs response rate
Great monitor but with all due respect I have to disagree that lack of HDMI 2.1 is not a big issue. Many people will likely want to pair this with a current-gen console and no 2.1 = no chance of 120fps gaming. Granted not many titles have that frame rate but the list is growing, the difference in smoothness and response is very noticeable and the latest AAA titles do support the UW format.
@@pickle-o1151 you people keep thinking that, but with my Ultra wide im able to still play my games in its full ultra wide glory, so you guys need to stop thinkin that. The g9 probably, but ordinary UWs? Im able to🤷♀️
@@celphalonred1999 that's a stretched image. No console outputs wider than 16:9. I mean, some people seem to be fine with the image stretched out, but it would bother the hell out of me.
Love the review! I see that this model is not available on Amazon as yet. Do you perhaps have inside info on availability 🙂 Also - I cannot come across a review for the new Porsche Design PD32M - Seems to be too new or too niche Hope you guys can help with that breakdown as there is no independent tech review available Other than that - Good job!
So here’s my quandary! I was spec’ing my gaming rig for a very long time (Pentium 2 was the last rig I built!) I was going to go for the G9 neo but am now looking at this. It’s cheaper and the quality looks amazing. What would you go for? To be honest the price of the G9 is not a problem.
Tbh I still feel like the G9 is OP for any system right now. It's 7.3 million pixels which is pretty close to 4k - I'd rather take the picture quality of a QD-OLED and have the extra headroom on the GPU for more FPS. Just my 2 cents!
34" QHD is same height as a 27 inch, but yeah either way it's still 2k vs 4k. If you're used to 4k it could possibly be noticeable but I find QHD @ 27 inch totally fine!
Just because the latest consoles don't support ultrawide doesn't mean that the latest ultrawide monitor shouldn't support the latest consoles! I am dissapointed in it being HDMI 2.0 only with no 4k downscaling for PS5, but I still think the quality of the QD-OLED panel makes up for that drawback. I'll be playing ps5 at 1080p but at least the colours/HDR will be glorious! Have already ordered the monitor, unfortunately, it'll be August when they finally ship it to me due to high demand issues!
@@KorokuGamingI did see a review where you can actually stretch the ratio on the PS5 to fit the wide screen version ...but that depends if you prefer to play that way, it may take getting used to. How is this review not in HDR? anyway the screen is awesome, and worth it Most review will talk about the same disadvantages: Text fringing: It is not visible for me even closer then viewing distance burn in: 3 years warranty has me not worrying. Display port caps at 120Hz with HDR, 120 is perfect for me, "if only" everything would have run for me at 120 fps or higher 1800 r curve: the screen seems very flat from viewing distance, you'll remember it only when standing up. But here are some more i didn't hear about until i got it: the input switch is real slow, and when entering and exiting HDR mode is also not fast every thing looks awesome on the screen except Netflix, even with the "HEVC Video Extensions" for windows Netflix HDR looks too dark and sometime the video will stretch with no reason RGB cannot be sync with music or what's on screen (only app profiled)
@@Loth-n1v I love it it's perfect for my usage. Regarding the Netflix issue, it appears I had a second monitor with 1080p only when disabling it, Netflix works at the correct resolution, some contact looks really good, some less, it depends on too many variables. Bottom line, after a few months I'm still looking at aw on it.
Does this monitor allow you to watch content from streaming sites in HDR? One of the issues I had with devices like apple’s iPad Pro or MacBook Pro is that a lot of websites wouldn’t send an HDR signal and play in HDR despite those screens being capable of amazing HDR.
@@fabiandrinksmilk6205 I don't really want to have to swap inputs to a chromecast just to watch HDR on my oled computer screen. It's just one of those things that gets annoying you know?
yeah hdr streaming content on sites other than youtube is really finicky sadly, ive been experiencing it as well with a 2021 MBP 14", and so far the most reliable way has just been ripping 4k blu rays and watching the MKV files in VLC media player
AlienWare Is mostly Nice kit but Like apple Basically Super Expensive for something not much better than the competitors for Eg I would argue Xaomi and some Samsungs are even Better unless your Very wealthy 1200 for a Monitor is ridiculous In my opinion could build a whole PC with monitor and 30 series GPU for That money Awesome Video As always though !
I pre-ordered this Alienware and unfortunately I won't have it until sometime mid-June. My only two concerns are its refresh rate and is the size in comparison to my current Acer 32" 2560x1440 165 Hz VA G-Sync, this Alienware OLED is probably the same square inches but stretched. I really wanted at least a 200 Hz panel but DisplayPort 1.4a is the bottleneck and even the forthcoming RTX 40 series have the same DP 1.4a and I can't see any information about when DisplayPort 2.0 full release .. It's probably at least two or three years away e.g. RTX 50 series in 2024-2025.
.. Also it would be NICE IF you could control the monitor via software. I often have multiple settings to adjust the screen characteristics on the fly on different maps in e.g. Call of Duty.
Competitive PUB gaming .. You're forgetting one major aspect of *21:9 ultra wide screen* .. more information. You can see your enemies often before they see you because they're stuck at 16:9. In crossplay it's often even more dramatic not only 16:9 but often 80° FoV versus 120° FoV. Also most 300 Hz TN monitors have bad colors with lousy 1080p resolution and low contrast It's a lot more difficult to see people.
My current monitor [Razer Raptor 27] is only G-sync compatible and it manages 120Hz with G-sync and HDR at the same time, so why do you say that this monitor can manage HDR and G-sync at the same time as though it is something special? I thought G-sync got over HDR compatibility years ago???
Hey! We were referencing HDR 1000 as talked about in the previous section, probably should have specified that sorry 😆 Nvidia are a bit vague nowadays regarding G-sync ultimate and dropped the 1000 nits requirement down to "lifelike HDR"... But yeah this monitor can do 1000 nits HDR with G-sync hence the G-sync ultimate certification. Hope that makes sense! 🙏

@@markshenefelt7611 Yeah I think I just got to go with the mindset that I'm not going to get it until June 15th. Don't want to be checking everyday for updates on orders.
I just got this monitor. It is amazing but has one glaring flaw. SDR performance is TERRIBLE. SDR tops out at like 200 nits so it is not bright at all. Games like Destiny 2 that have terrible HDR implementation, look way better in SDR (turning off HDR). This results in Destiny 2 being stuck at 200 nits which is very dim and doesn’t look good. Reviewers gloss over this fact but it’s a huge flaw imo.
I have my LG OLED exclusively at 100 nits for SDR because that's what it's mastered at, have 200 nits peak isn't a big deal at all. Plus you also have AutoHDR that works well most of the time.
@@Showwieh I totally agree for 98% of content. However, any content that simply has poor HDR implementation, like Destiny 2, you have to play in SDR. If you have even a slightly bright room with outdoor light, the SDR on this Alienware is way too dim. I tried auto HDR as well but many Reddit threads will confirm, some games like Destiny 2 just were not made with proper HDR support. If you play D2 don’t buy this monitor. If you play any other games, I 100% recommend it. I returned mine for this very reason. My IPS 240hz 1440P can go up to 400 nits in SDR if necessary which is great for bright rooms. Reviewers generally agree the SDR brightness on this monitor is poor.

That is something even the taller screen could never do.
i am thinking to buyt it, what do you think after 2 months?
i find it interesting that you are not bothered by the lower resolution.
its an impressive monitor but i'd advise to wait for the second generation of qd oled monitors.
also, if you are on 4k already, it's not really worth it stepping down to 1440p again, even if its an oled.
i'd like to see a QD OLED 32" 4k flat screen 165-240hz.
Just got my qd oled today, psyched to get gaming on it with my newly built 12900k pc!!!! Thanks for sharing 👍 😊!
Hell yeah dude enjoy!
I would have had the Alienware monitor by now if it wasn't for that.
i have 32" AOC curved 1440p 144hz and my next level would be 4k 144hz nothing else. I need the quality of the image on 4k.
i agree, i am already on a 4k monitor and i wish we could see 32" 4k qd oleds high refreshrate (ideally 165 or more)
Great review….love your quick to the point format!
Awesome review, you have now a new subscriber from France ! (Love the title of the video btw)
Can't get more excited to receive my precious.
amazing showcase
love this new monitor and love how its gonna be integrated into the setup
My LG 34GK950F-B started dying after just 2 years and since it's now "out of warranty" I went ahead and ordered this Alienware. Really hoping this one lasts a bit longer.
Alienware always makes nice monitors! Great review as always Nay!!
I NEED the AW3823DW to come into existence ASAP!! That would be the only monitor I would swap my LG 38GL950 for...
Slightly too small though....
@@yvanmmh2966 ikr, once you've tested Ultrawide at 38", the 34" looks small.
When you test 49" 32:9, others look small.
Nice review! Did you notice any flickering whilst using G-Sync? Some reported on it.
Great review, So excited for this monitor. Mines coming later today.
Thanks for the comment! Hope you enjoy the monitor!
How are you liking it so far?
Hi, what kind of keyboard it is on your video? Thanks for the response
Deep down, I know there is better value for money but still want it. Still need it.
There's nothing like it so eeehh
Nay! I picked the 34 inch & the 24.5 Im currently looking for mounts not sure if I should wall mount it or use a monitor arm. But Im looking to put the 34 inch horizontal and the 24.5 inch to the left of it vertically what would be my best option? Thanks in advance!
What chair you are using?
This thing feels far better then my 360hrz monitor. I think it's time we really stop following trends and start looking at comparing fps vs response rate
How does it compare to the Samsung 49" Odyssey Neo G9?
This one's tempting for that price with the included tech. Very tempting...
It's honestly epic. 👍
Man I'd love to have this, shame it arrives in AUGUST 3RD bruh..pain & suffering. Great review. 😊
Bruh 🥺 it'll be worth it 👌 thanks!
Dam bro August sheesh I though June was bad
Ordered mine last week. Estimated arrival 12th October. It's totally oversubscribed. Prepare to see them on eBay for twice the price.
Got an LGC2 42 oled for my desk Cyberpunk and the witcher 3 look amazing on it.
Ultra-wide is not supported by consoles
@@pickle-o1151 you people keep thinking that, but with my Ultra wide im able to still play my games in its full ultra wide glory, so you guys need to stop thinkin that. The g9 probably, but ordinary UWs? Im able to🤷♀️
@@celphalonred1999 that's a stretched image. No console outputs wider than 16:9. I mean, some people seem to be fine with the image stretched out, but it would bother the hell out of me.
Love the review!
I see that this model is not available on Amazon as yet. Do you perhaps have inside info on availability 🙂
Also - I cannot come across a review for the new Porsche Design PD32M - Seems to be too new or too niche
Hope you guys can help with that breakdown as there is no independent tech review available
Other than that - Good job!
@@TechTesseract thank you for the reply. This is seriously tempting me now.
QD-OLED TVs existed before this monitor.
It’s a Samsung panel technology,Sony is now using Samsung QD-OLED panels in their flagship OLED TVs.
Why they didn’t make it 4k
It’s looks like something you’d find at a dentist from the rear side. But I still want one!
Which keyboard is that? ❤
Which keyboard is that? *.*
No stock available?
Does the hectagons stick to the wall pretty well? Can we use our own double sided tape as well?
We always use our own tape on anything going on the wall light wise.
@@TechTesseract ooh alright. Thanks 😁
is text "pixely" at that resolution/size? I currently have a 27" 4k.
34" QHD is same height as a 27 inch, but yeah either way it's still 2k vs 4k. If you're used to 4k it could possibly be noticeable but I find QHD @ 27 inch totally fine!
Just ordered and getting delivered tomorrow! (Not Dell)
Getting mine on May 5th as long as it doesn’t get delayed 🙏🏼
omggg i NEED!! i'm getting this for my WFH space but man is it tempting to use as a main monitor... gorgeous. you guys crushed this review as always!
Lol you're probably gonna swap it out as your main after 1 day 🤣
@@TechTesseract hehehehe is it that obvious 🤣
Just because the latest consoles don't support ultrawide doesn't mean that the latest ultrawide monitor shouldn't support the latest consoles! I am dissapointed in it being HDMI 2.0 only with no 4k downscaling for PS5, but I still think the quality of the QD-OLED panel makes up for that drawback. I'll be playing ps5 at 1080p but at least the colours/HDR will be glorious! Have already ordered the monitor, unfortunately, it'll be August when they finally ship it to me due to high demand issues!
Playing PS5 on this moniter the ratio scale will nor be the full stretch of the screen ..PS5 gaming experience will be cropped to like 27 in
@@blastu2fool That's fine, 27 inches 16:9 is still BIG, still wish it supported 4k downscaling like my Samsung G7!
@@KorokuGamingI did see a review where you can actually stretch the ratio on the PS5 to fit the wide screen version ...but that depends if you prefer to play that way, it may take getting used to. This screen is dope and I want one for my PS5, but now I'm also seeing this moniter dose not support 2.1 audio. Which the PS5 is equipped...take a look at this

@@blastu2fool I'm interested in it mainly for the qd-oled technology! An ips panel will not satisfy me, I've been waiting for oled PC monitors to hit the market for YEARS.
I use headphones/speakers for my sound so it doesn't matter that the monitor itself doesn't have 2.1 sound.
Not sure if you guys are still answering questions about this, but what would be the bare minimum pc requirements you think for this monitor?
Minimum... i'd say probably a 2060 super... ideally a 2080 super or above!
@@TechTesseract Thanks!
How is this review not in HDR?
anyway
the screen is awesome, and worth it
Most review will talk about the same disadvantages:
Text fringing: It is not visible for me even closer then viewing distance
burn in: 3 years warranty has me not worrying.
Display port caps at 120Hz with HDR, 120 is perfect for me, "if only" everything would have run for me at 120 fps or higher
1800 r curve: the screen seems very flat from viewing distance, you'll remember it only when standing up.
But here are some more i didn't hear about until i got it:
the input switch is real slow, and when entering and exiting HDR mode is also not fast
every thing looks awesome on the screen except Netflix, even with the "HEVC Video Extensions" for windows Netflix HDR looks too dark and sometime the video will stretch with no reason
RGB cannot be sync with music or what's on screen (only app profiled)
Do you still love it or do you recommend something else?
@@Loth-n1v I love it it's perfect for my usage.
Regarding the Netflix issue, it appears I had a second monitor with 1080p only when disabling it, Netflix works at the correct resolution, some contact looks really good, some less, it depends on too many variables.
Bottom line, after a few months I'm still looking at aw on it.
@@sasbrzx thank you 🙏
where did you get those wall shelfs from?
great review! definitely not interested at this price point, but for those willing to spend, enjoy!
Does this monitor allow you to watch content from streaming sites in HDR? One of the issues I had with devices like apple’s iPad Pro or MacBook Pro is that a lot of websites wouldn’t send an HDR signal and play in HDR despite those screens being capable of amazing HDR.
I think you could also hook up a Chromecast. Many streaming services enable HDR for Chromecast.
@@fabiandrinksmilk6205 I don't really want to have to swap inputs to a chromecast just to watch HDR on my oled computer screen. It's just one of those things that gets annoying you know?
@@Millicente Sure, I know some monitors have auto input switching, but I have yet to receive this monitor to try it.
yeah hdr streaming content on sites other than youtube is really finicky sadly, ive been experiencing it as well with a 2021 MBP 14", and so far the most reliable way has just been ripping 4k blu rays and watching the MKV files in VLC media player
So this is not 4k right? why some of reviewer is comparing this to 4k? sharpness is always not gonna be the same right?
Salutations!! Um can I play this on my Ps4 until I get my Ps5? Yeah I'm a Noob 😟
Nice style of video. Suprissed UA-cam recommended something else than Linus for once
AlienWare Is mostly Nice kit but Like apple Basically Super Expensive for something not much better than the competitors for Eg I would argue Xaomi and some Samsungs are even Better
unless your Very wealthy 1200 for a Monitor is ridiculous In my opinion could build a whole PC with monitor and 30 series GPU for That money Awesome Video As always though !
any news of a QD-OLED 32 inch?
hey .. Do you know if updates fix g sync flickering ?
What keyboard is that at 9:29?
I guess it's NuPhy Air75
I’m thinking about buying one I have an older alienware ultra wide I wanna see what hdr is like
Another great review (:
Glad you enjoyed!

Awesome review, this is one beast of a monitor! Keep up the amazing content!! Like # 100 YAYYYYYYY
Hahah that's awesome 👌 👏 🤣 100 let's go! They definitely did a good job with the new updates on this monitor for sure!
I wanna know what that keyboard is!!
on pre-order already
Please help me I have this exact monitor, I'm trying to change the osd brightness settings in the menu, when i get to the menu the selector is automatically set to the contrast setting. Anyone got an update on the production delays?
I tried auto HDR as well
but many Reddit threads will confirm, some games like Destiny 2 just were not made with proper HDR support.
@@erichagele Yeah that's fair, if you have a bright room that could be a big issue.
