Like so many people, I also grew up with the 1979 logo and it is also my favorite logo from the company mainly because if it’s animation and soothing music. The 2022 logo looks great too, especially the multicolored neon visuals. The music is okay in that logo and that a whole lot of companies simplified their logos too. I can’t complain too much anyway.
Very well made history video! Also, thanks for doing the request! Orion is very interesting with their history as well, and their logos are just as fascinating. The first true logo is classic, the 1997 is alright, but a tad bit overrated, but the newest is nicely done, but one I had to get used to.
This logo history of Orion is... _briliant!_ Just like other logos and intros for other movie companies, the logos from Orion Pictures Corporation are really memorable, especially for those people who watched Orion's movies. The logo from Orion that most people know is the opening sequence from 1979 to 1997. I like the use of special effects in the logo, and it was used for _18 years. Which is incredible._ The 1997 logo is a nice update to the 1979 logo, updated with 1990s computer effects. Their new logo from 2022 depends of your opinion, if it's a fresh change from the classic 1979 logo, or if it's bland and simplistic (as it's a product of the simplification trend of the 21st century, and it may take some time to get used to the new logo).
Thanks, Man! The logos from Orion are indeed memorable, especially the 1979 logo. It still holds up after 43 years. The 1997 logo is a great remake and refurbishment of the previous logo. I'm already used to the new logo. I think it's a great modernisation of the 1979 logo. Stay tuned for future videos.
Partly. If you look at the history, after about 1985 they only had 1-2 moderate hit movies a year, 1 or 2 big hits every 2-3 years, and the rest bombed. A bunch, like UHF, Three Amigos and Remo Williams became 'Cult classics" but none of them broke even until years later on video, when it was too late.

Understand that Orion Pictures and Orion Classics are the only two to have remade logos. Orion Pictures' 1979 version was rebooted in 2013 to be its current logo. Orion Classics' 1983 version was rebooted in 2018 to be its current logo. ALSO, since 2012, Metro Goldwyn Mayer owns Orion Pictures despite Warner Bros did back in 1976.
Warner Bros. never actually owned Orion. They were just the distributor for their early films. Warner Bros. Discovery owns the copyrights to anything released before 1982. In 1982 Orion Pictures Company bought out Filmways Pictures and reorganized it as Orion Pictures Corporation. It wasn't until 1997 when MGM acquired Metromedia's entertainment assets that they owned Orion and its back library.
