I'm from Oregon and so I stan the Oregon Pinot Noir producers super hard, but what I love about PN is the funk, the tilled soil, the mushroom-y notes, etc., so gun to my head I would generally still preference a really good Burgundy. But you said it, the Oregon producers are making the closest thing I've ever tasted and it feels great to drink a great wine with the characteristics that I love from my home state. Pinot Noir is the perfect expression of wine for the Pacific Northwest too.
