Great simple video, a great reminder to a guy like myself, who hass basic knowledge. I'm making a hive today, so great for final reminder tips. I'm making from scratch, no reassembling , but already knew what a hive needs and what I need to see when I finish! 😢

Now, don't misunderstand me since my daughter and I are hoping to have (2 or 3) beehives in our back garden within the next few years, but I thought that bee-keeping was a soothing pastime for folks with calm temperaments - so your comments gave me a laugh! Realistically though, WHAT DID YOU EXPECT FROM A 3-MINUTE VIDEO? Seriously, did you actually come here thinking you would be shown in such a short space of time how to build, step-by-step, a beehive from scratch?!? Take a little time to laugh at yourselves and start again. Anything worthwhile will take time and effort, and building a beehive with the subsequent bee-keeping is definitely going to be no exception. However, in the end of it, I can calmly, and with a level head, agree the title of this video is not entirely accurate. Enjoy your day.

I have a bungalow in a small village and I've been working on the garden for two years now, so plenty of flowers all through the year and the buddleia has massive of flowers still, on Sunday, 24/10/22. You have given me a good start and will be building a hive over winter. I think I shall start with a nucleus colony , I have hedgehogs , toads , butterflies, bat's, many birds on the feeders etc. I'm recently retired and enjoy nature. I'm a member of the RSPB and The Devon Wildlife Trust. I will look for more of your posts. Thanks again.

I have more idea about bee-hives than I did before I watched the video and it really wasnt a lengthy process so no great loss of time invested. it's no problem offering constructive criticism but just giving negative comments is pointless

That's not how to make a beehive. That's explaining the parts of an already built beehive. Tell me what type of wood and what thickness to use, what measurements to cut the pieces to, whether you use screws or nails or wood glue to assemble it and then you will have made a video on "How to make a beehive"
3 years late but im going to comment for everyone else who maybe has the same thought process. its only for the early stages so the hive can get started. Especially when theyre are very few adult bees.
Dimensions vary by hive sizes. Mesh is used to keep bees away from queens or larva out of honey. I recommend you youtube a different video. This one is and "unboxing" of a premade kit. Start up is usually around $500usd and I also recommend finding a local supplier for bees. There's too variables when you ship. Just sayin
