    These vases are really cool to do. I did this a few years ago with the same technique. I would leave my vase turned upside down over something where the excess paint will drip in to. Also I found out that no matter what paint you use you can not put water in them for any length of time. The paint will eventually get under the paint and will leave water bubbles between the vase and the paint. I have researched all over for a sealant for paint on glass and there is none. I’ve even checked overseas and nothing. So I thought I’d try polyurethane and so far it did the trick. But what I did find out, that it’s better to poly the inside of your case/glasss first and let that dry. Then apply your paint, let dry over night. Last step apply poly again making sure it spreads evenly inside the vase. Drain upside down. Let cure for a few days or put into over for 30 mins. Put in oven cold then turn oven on at 290 degrees (the temp may be different, don’t quote me on the degree). Leave vase in oven until it cools down. Might want to refer to “how to cure painted glass in oven”. Good luck and hope this helps!

      Sarah-Elizabeth Ellis thank you for watching..... in that case use acrylic enamel paint instead and let the paint cure for 2 weeks before adding water to the vases.

      Thanks. You can use acrylic enamel paint. Follow instructions on bottle for curing the paint. You can alsonuse a sealant. Then just rinse and turn upside down when dirty or if vase has wide opening just wipe it clean with a cloth. Thanks for watching ❤

    love these...............I already had some white acrylic paint.......went to Walmart and bought the pink multi surface satin acrylic paint...........HATED IT.........this paint did not want to move once I poured it inside my vase.......It was by Apple Barrel.......I guess I bought the wrong kind because it was so hard to work with........it literally just sat where I poured it and would not move...........or it had sat on the shelf too long...............never saw anything like it..............anywho.......thanks for sharing...........love all the vases.

    Do you seal the inside so the paint doesn’t scratch off?

    • @SplendidIdeasWithMaria
      @SplendidIdeasWithMaria 3 роки тому

      If you use acrylic enamel paint theres no need to seal it. You just have to let the paint cured for several days before putting anything in it.

    Lovely , i have tried painting vases, all kinds of bottles using this technique, the paint runs all over and will not dry for the life of me, the liquor bottles are even worst, i am so 😞, i have sat up for hours an end turning these bottles up down side to side and the worst results, i am about to give up, yours are so pretty

    • @SplendidIdeasWithMaria
      @SplendidIdeasWithMaria 5 років тому

      Thank you...try to put a generous amount of paint, then rotate your vase making sure the paint is covering the vase evenly. Then put vase upside down to let the excess paint drip down. I like to put popsicle sticks under the vase so the paint doesn't stick to the opening of the vase. I hope that helps. Thank you for watching.😊
