Ben, accompanied by his son, son-in-laws, and nephew, is super excited as they embark on this much-anticipated hunting adventure. This season proved to be exceptional, filled with numerous highs and very few lows. Despite the challenges posed by a declining deer herd, the team managed to score some dandy bucks, reflecting the perseverance and skill honed over the years.
However, the stark reality of the dwindling deer population remains a cause for concern, attributed largely to over-predation issues, notably the impact of wolves. It's disheartening to witness this decline year after year, prompting a deeper reflection on the delicate balance of the ecosystem and the pressing need for better conservation efforts.
Amidst these challenges, invaluable experiences were gained by all involved. Each moment in the wilderness offered not just opportunities for hunting but also for learning and adapting to the nuances of nature.

Congratulations a great video! A couple nice bucks were harvested which is a bonus for any camp. I wish we could keep the traditions going with more families and friends keeping the deer camps together, but unfortunately deer hunting has been on the decline for a number of years now. Glad you have a camp to go to and some acreage to hunt on!

Thanks for the video, guys. Pro Tip for the guy who got the nice 8-pointer: They are a lot lighter to drag if you field dress them right away. Also, carry a 10 foot length of soft braided rope. Tie one end around the deer's neck and the other to a stick about 1 1/2" thick. Use a two-handed pull behind your back - - - WAY easier to drag than by the antlers. Plus, it works for a doe, too. Seems like everyone in the "up north" of the states has had low deer sightings with winter severity and wolves as a significant place of the blame. Went hunting for the first time in over 20 years this year and I got my first Buck well first deer ever. Downed him with a 30-30 I got from my father before he passed.

Man that buck was solid for sure. I've always enjoyed the calmness of your camp. It's a peaceful time with friends to enjoy the gift of nature together. If a deer is harvested that's just icing on the cake. I have also fractured a vertebrae after falling from a tree. It was no fun. I'm so happy it turned out well. Mine did also. Fun video. Just for future references I was always told by taxidermy never hang your buck by the horns if you are going to get a mount done something about it stretches their neck and can effect the way the mount turns out. Nice bucks guy's.
