I have a Supreme and absolutely love it! Best sax I’ve ever played! The sound, the tuning and the response!

Everyone needs to make their own decisions, at least Simon was being honest, and that made it worth listening to..

Well, Simon, I have to say your sound on that Alto Supreme was the best tone I have ever heard you produce. The jury is still out on the tenor, however. Personally, I am a Yamaha fan of both tenor and alto Yamahas as well, but you made me give some serious thought to saving up money for the Alto Supreme. Good video, guys.

I have a suprème alto, and I am very satisfied. ❤ I love to play it, but it has been set up very well 👍🏻

I have watched both videos of Simon trying the supreme and the signature tenors, hands down for me was the Signature..the supreme is very desirable right now but I think most people are too focused on it and not realizing how great the signature tenor is.

Thank you guys. I like Selmer horns. They’ve got their own distinctive sound. None of them are perfect. It’s the player as well. Simon can play great on anything including a chair leg if he had to. Bill. UK

Simon is the secret sauce to this channel. Loved the honest, tactful review. Spot on!

The 'new' neck receiver is in fact not new, it is copied from SML saxes IMHO.

I think Selmer can use their history to ask an insane amount of money for a decent pro instrument, only because it has "Selmer" engraved on it. And still get away with issues that other manufacturers sorted out ages ago. "12 years of development"? If "Supreme" still needs serious adjustments in the local shop to play well, then 12 years was a waste of time. It's mind-boggling, but most people don't care about such obvious issues, as long as "Selmer" is written on it.

I agree to a certain extent. In my opinion before buying a Supreme, many other models by other manufacturers must be tried first otherwise there is no reference point!

Get it setup correctly and it is way better than any Yamaha and this is coming from a guy who has been a long time Yamaha fan and it wasn’t until my Ref Alto I switched.

It's such a personal thing. The references are great saxes, but I'm not really a fan of their keywork!

Well guess I keep my MKVI & Bird ref 54 models , actually I use my ref 54 Bird neck on my MKVI ...makes it another sax

I loved the sound of the alto but the tenor was really ordinary.

To be honest, I never heard an alto saxophone that sounds bad when Simon plays it. He quickly figures out how the saxophone responses, and then adjusts his playing so the saxophone sounds great within that range. But it was audible he couldn't push this alto, which is the same conclusion other reviewers noted about Supreme.

Brilhart is such a good mouthpiece that it can save a saxophone as bad as selmer supreme. Another proof that it was better before.
