Well when people get mad they can say things that hurt because Rick knows that Beth never had options and for Jerry trying to get him killed it's understandable why he would say that I mean you can't be all buddy buddy if someone tries to get you killed 🙄
There is already one. Jerry C-137. His World went to waste thanks to his horny Morty, and he became the only Jerry to stand up to the situation and become the Jerry His family needed. Funnily enough, the Left 4 dead world's Jerry is the one who earned a happy ending.
@@chromab7713 not really a happy ending at all, more of Jerry forced to become a harder person. Also, not C137, it's the Prime or "cronenberged" now ig
I'm not lying when I say that Rick's frown and calm dominant walking made me feel uneasy. He usually screams in madness or shoots. He is usually quick and volatile. Here, here he was different. No shouting, no shooting, no taking a rock and hit until death, he just walks in a straight line, fists along his sides, staring deeply with that frown.
Gotta love how high and mighty Rick is acting despite the facts that: 1) It's not even his own family. 2) Even in the context that it was (which it was at the time of this episode), he was absent during his daughter's entire childhood. 3) Beth chose not to get an abortion. 4) Beth would have squandered her options and Rick knows this, the alternative universe cable episode showed she would've ended up as a miserable wine-drunk cat lady. 5) Rick himself is constantly using emotional manipulation on his "own" daughter to keep himself on her good side. 6) Rick himself was responsible for the creation of Morties by pairing up Beths with Jerrys.
So, what? She may not be his Beth, but he cares for her like she is. And I bet it already hurts to even eat dinner with someone you already saw die. Seeing what would've happened to his Beth, had she grown up, and who his new Beth is dealing with now probably destroys the poor guy. Think about it. Rick really loved his wife and daughter very much and seeing them die to himself ruined him. Going into another dimension where things turned out different, where your little girl actually got the chance to grow up and have a life of her own, but be married to whiny, manipulative, parasite would really stir up some negative emotions in you. Makes you think "How?" And "Why?" How does the daughter of the smartest mind in the universe have this kind of future? Why is her destiny to have every opportunity for success destroyed in place of something (or someone) much worse? His Beth or not, Rick cares.
It kind of seems like this anger of rick’s is more directed at the ricks who force Jerry’s and Beth’s to be together. 20cc of liquid dream killer could be that dart the ricks use to make them fall in love
This is a older episode and the shows writer said they don't decide on what's cannon until they have to. They for sure didn't write this scene with the mass produced Marty in mind.
I can imagine an even better response from jerry, “ I didn’t take shit from you! Don’t pretend now like you cared, you left Beth and you left Diane!” And then I imagine that hearing her name Rick would either break down of beat the living shit out of Jerry.
He knows exactly how he himself is responsible that Beth always ends up with Jerry. But he hates Jerry anyway for exactly the reasons he just said. Ironic
He stepped right into the thing, pulling the leg that was outside the creature's mouth in with a little half step. Jerry is past helpless. He's almost deliberately self destructive.

Imagine watching your infant child dying, learning that there's infinite universes and inventing how to travel to them, in these other universes she's alive, but in almost every single one they basically ruin their lives by getting together with.. well, Jerry.
@@himarisuzuki5208 season 5 episode 10 shows ricks past and origin and explains why Beth and jerry are always together in the multiverse.
@@marshalsunrise6582 Rick doesn't have to accept that Beth's with Jerry just because other Rick's, many of whom he clearly resents, decided to farm infinite Morty's
@@extremistgarchomp4950 literally this. C-137 or Mainstory Rick isn't responsible for the things that the Citadel of Ricks do. I'd it just me or has people forgot how much C137 hate the Citadel and the way they run things.
Now that we know about Rick Prime, I can feel assured that Jerry was right all along. Rick did take his family. The family that Rick prime never wanted.
Rick literally describing every single one of my exes.
people don't realize the only reason he's a coward is only because the writers make him
No way dude
That's crazy, almost as if the writers write the show.
😮 wow dude your so smart your mom and dad dont happen to be related are they?
There is a fine line between sociopaths and psychopaths. That line is about an 25.4mm worth of empathy for others. Rick is so far into psychopath he just about swings back into sociopathy. The manner in which he can verbally twist things to his own is so masterful it's an art form.
nothing he said was untrue
@@ReapersLove69 from his perspective. Perspective is the key.
I kinda wish this moment had a bigger impact on Jerry's character growth
I love that he says that Beth was Rick’s daughter clearly not referring to himself
Jerry: You're inventing a thing to save me
Rick: That'd be called a knife jerry, it's been invented
Let's be honest, we would rather be friends with Jerry since the people closest to Rick are manipulated and are traumatized because of Rick's actions
I would not want to be friends with Jerry. He is shown again and again to be a bad person that is held back by his stupidity which is why he puts up his nice guy facade. Rick is an uncaring asshole, but at least I can learn some stuff from him and then go my own way once I'm ready.
@@Flying_Spaghetti_Monster agreed, i mean a decoy wooden version of him , which has a PERFECT copy of his mind and personality, betrays his own decoy family and enters the escape pod alone even tho he can take them all with him.
If a decoy of him with a perfect copy of his mind was willing to leave his family for dead, he'd do the same thing to someone considered a friend.
At least rick is little bit honest and acknowledges he is fked up and a hole. But ohh jerry good old jerry is f ed up a hole and worse is he doesnt know it...
I would rather be stabbed in front than in back
@@Flying_Spaghetti_Monster He doesn’t care about his family. They all don’t care because they have gained a tiny bit of ricks intelligence. Except jerry. this was the first scene i've seen from Rick and Morty, and this is what got me into Rick and Morty. When i first watched this, i really liked the dialogue and how dramatic this scene is.
I like how the worm waited long enough to eat Jerry so that Rick could finish his rant. Definitely could have had him way sooner but wanted Jerry to roll in it
How can he be mad at Jerry when it's his fault and the Rick's fail there together
Bold, coming from a super smart, narcissistic egomaniac who will deny until the end of time that he doesn't care about Morty, but could not have had any Mortys without his daughter marrying that "loser."
Just sayin, she had options...and you ended up loving your grandson. A small sacrifice to pay for salvation.
Honestly you could say the same for grandparents of teen pregnancies. Ofc they still love their grandchildren but they wanted their kids to have the world and their kids dreams were shattered after meeting someone. So they carry a bit of resentment towards the other partner
@@hhj186Except Rick knows that in an alternate reality where Beth achieved her dreams, she became an unfulfilled alcoholic until Jerry came back to her.

I feel like I have to mention that Rick is a monster. Like, not a grey anti-hero or anything, just a bad person.
This scene is one of the most intense scenes I've seen in my life
Yeah, she totally had options as Ricks daughter, you know, the guy who pretty much abandoned her early on in life and came back when everything was already said and done
Yeah what you said falls apart due to the season 5 final revealing that his family did in fact die so that isn't his Beth his Beth died at 5
@@kongthornton780 You mean the when his daughter died in the fake memory, the memory being fake being retconed later when he goes through bird persons memories of him and seeing that it turns out to be true that Beth could have actually died as a kid, even though those are bird persons memories and could still be fake, even when Beth herself has stated multiple times that he has pretty much abandoned her when she was younger, granted he was there for some of her growing up, but not much, and the time he was there for her, only making her worse by giving her what she asked for like a bunch of weapons and a fake world that she trapped someone in, then leaving her in a vulnerable stage in her early life anyway, man, such a great father

Rick prime abondoned beth, family spent time alone while prime was somewhere else and c 137 was killing ricks.
i never noticed that the monster said oof
This hits different, knowing that Rick's pretty much foster a knowingly toxic relationship just to spawn Morty's
Rick really is projecting on Jerry here, he blames her for Beth's life and the assasination attempt but those are both his fault actually. Thats no even his Beth and he only got back to her as an adult instead of raising her and he forgot to add "I survive because I know everything and use that to be a weapons dealer out of all things"
Wasn't there an episode dedicated to Beth and Jerry learning that they're even more unhappy apart?
Yes. But the writers just like dumping on Jerry too much for whatever reasons.
Correct me if I'm wrong... Jerry does decently for himself, finds another woman, and almost lives a decent life. I don't quite FULLY remember, its been a while

Successful =/= happy
Remember how that episode ends? Alt Jerry returns to his Beth because even with everything he thought he wanted, he still couldn't enjoy life without her in it.
The more i watch this show, the more i feel like a jerry😅 oh boy
You should surround yourself with better people
This the hard truth for some people
When you think about it Rick literally was setting jerry and Beth up intentionally to create a bigger supply of morty’s, so why does he still hold such a grudge on jerry for impregnating his daughter? It’s a little confusing lol
I think Jerry represents…us. Everyone who tries, but isn’t good enough sometimes, but doesn’t give up.
Of course lol only teenagers actually listen to Rick and take him seriously. The second he isn't the special snowflake in the room he just becomes a Jerry himself. The Citadel pretty much proves that.

He talks about the "dream killer" while forgetting that Summer and Morty were the best things to happen to his miserable life
i wouldn't go that far 😐 his miserable life was just as miserable before and after those to congenital defects
GOT DAMN! Rick is savage with the prey/predator talk.
"You use pity to lure in your victims."
Holy shit.
Well when people get mad they can say things that hurt because Rick knows that Beth never had options and for Jerry trying to get him killed it's understandable why he would say that I mean you can't be all buddy buddy if someone tries to get you killed 🙄

Just imagine if Jerry said something like:
"Deal is off. I won't help you kill my dad" and Rick wouldn't end up being angry at him
I want a jerry arc, a universe where jerry has a happy life
There is already one. Jerry C-137. His World went to waste thanks to his horny Morty, and he became the only Jerry to stand up to the situation and become the Jerry His family needed. Funnily enough, the Left 4 dead world's Jerry is the one who earned a happy ending.

Can I just say as much as I love the rick jerry conflicts man,it's heartbreaking 🤣 actually though damn dude
"Until you shot 20 ccs of liquid dream killer into my daughter" 😂👌
impressive load :P
Gotta love how high and mighty Rick is acting despite the facts that:
1) It's not even his own family.
Jerry sounds like that dude who narrates Nature cat
That's got to be one of the best scenes of any serie ever, every second is pure satisfaction to watch.
Hold on. Why would this Rick be saying the "20ccs of liquid dream killer " line? His Beth is long dead.
Rick: SHE WAS RICK'S DAUGHTER JERRY!
Interesting choice of words.......
"You act like prey but you're a predator" needs to be memed WAY more. It's such a goto tactic for way too many people.
when the truth hits you like a ton of bricks to the face! I missed these arguments they use to have! it makes this so much more interesting.
It kind of seems like this anger of rick’s is more directed at the ricks who force Jerry’s and Beth’s to be together. 20cc of liquid dream killer could be that dart the ricks use to make them fall in love
It aint that
This is a older episode and the shows writer said they don't decide on what's cannon until they have to. They for sure didn't write this scene with the mass produced Marty in mind.
Did the snake thing say "oooff"? XD
Oh yeah it did
Lol the bug eating him was in respect to 2005 King Kong bug attacking scene 😂
He put a second leg in the alien's jaws💀
I can imagine an even better response from jerry, “ I didn’t take shit from you! Don’t pretend now like you cared, you left Beth and you left Diane!” And then I imagine that hearing her name Rick would either break down of beat the living shit out of Jerry.
He knows exactly how he himself is responsible that Beth always ends up with Jerry. But he hates Jerry anyway for exactly the reasons he just said. Ironic
Jerry literally could've watched where he stepped, and wouldn't have been nom nomed on
He stepped right into the thing, pulling the leg that was outside the creature's mouth in with a little half step.
Jerry is past helpless. He's almost deliberately self destructive.
Jerry: "Your inventing something to save ne!"
Rick: "That would be a knife. It's already been invented."
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
