It's too bad Ford's pardon of Richard Nixon hurt his reputation because he was really genial and friendly. He was a sportsman to the core,playing college football and wanting to know about other sports in general.
Richard Nixon was a great president who was overthrown by a disguised coup d'etat.
He stop war in nam he been only two years ,, he pardon Nixon that was his mistake

Gerald Ford was too good people someone explain to me how he assumed the presidency I’m from Brazil I’ve never seen a record of his election
In 1972 Richard Nixon won re-election as President, but his Vice President then had a scandal and resigned. He was replaced by Gerald Ford as Vice President.
Then Richard Nixon had his own scandal and resigned as well, thus Gerald Ford was promoted from from VP to President. He's the only President in American history to never be elected to the office. He was defeated by Jimmy Carter in 1976.
So Ford essentially replaced as Vice President, then the actual President having never been elected.
