I only recently discovered the band myself through a recommendation from friends .... I'll put it this way, I think they're so good that I'm going to a mini-festival at the end of the year because they're playing there.

Founded in Austria they become a real European Band over the Years, The Drummer (one of the founders) and the bassist are from Austria, the guitarist from the Czech Republic, the singer is from Italy and the beautiful female soprano singer Clementine from France. After a lot of changes is this the actual line up for a while now and works fantastic together.
Beside Nightwish they become very fast one off my favorite Bands. You May check out more of their songs "release my symphony" official life, "Master the Hurricane" or "Legion of the Seas" ore the “deep and the dark“. Also beautiful but slower is "the last home" which I like so much and "Nothing last forever" Please dive deeper in songs of this Band which is in my opinion underrated and deserves much more attention. Fantastic band. I've seen them live two times and it was a great experience. Lots of fun and laughter too, not taking themselves to serious, which i very much respect. The music and voices of the two are excellent too. Great band all in all.
This was really great! I agree , some bands try to create an epic feel to their songs, but a lot of them fall short. This was epic!
Now as for Mastering a hurricane, I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Ultimately I just have to move out of the way. 🤣

VoA is Napalm's "house band". Drummer Thomas Caser is now the CEO of Napalm. It was created in Austria in 2000 as a Nightwish clone. Like many clones, it is characterized by failure and frequent changes of members.
In 2013 Thomas is the last founding member and decides to sink the pirate ship. For one last privateering trip, he brings some of the founders back and engages the French Clementine Delauney as season vocalist. He quickly realizes that Clementine is a game changer and lets the ship continue sailing. After Clementine's collaboration with Exit Eden, VoA appeared in the charts for the first time in 2018.
Also in 2018, the Italian Michele Guaitoli signed on as the new male singer and is now the main songwriter.
In 2019 they met the German sound engineer Felix Heldt on the tour. He tells them that something is still missing. Clementine asks him what it is and in response he writes them this song. Felix is also a well-known songwriter and producer.
Typically today Michele comes up with the idea and records a demo, Felix reworks it and then Clemeniine does the lyrics.
With this combination, the breakthrough will come in 2022.

Ah yes Visions of Atlantis, one of the top symphonic metal bands with again another deep and quality catalog. You won't go wrong by diving deeper into them.
Got to see them in Atlanta back in September. Great set and lots of fun! They really tried to keep up the pirate theme, even having us sit on the floor and row. :)
Yeeees! Great band! You can't do wrong checking out more of them. If you want to see another official video you could go with "Legion of the seas" but there's an epic live video of "Pirates will return" which I love! Have fun!

If you want to keep going down this rabbit hole, check out Temperance, imo the best band in recent years in this style, and I have heard A LOT of them. Any song is fine, they never make weak ones.

What a voice, what a song, what a review! Beautifully Epic sums it up in a nutshell. VoA have the instrumental version of the album Pirates being released on Dec 1st 2023. Cosmic, if you liked this, try Xandria, very similar musically but with Diane a more operatic voice, Trully Epic!
