That was a great performance done by Angel. He's really good at backing, and I agree with Angel, if the other guy haven't left he would it put it in there no problem. Look how perfect and centralized the trailer went inside the spot. He never cross neither of the lines. GREAT JOB FOR BOTH OF YOU.👍
Agree. I think it would've been easier for him if the other guy didn't leave. When you see the truck you use it as reference point to know where you're going
The real problem is there is inadequate backing in training in the school yard. I mean im amazed that this isn’t taught well enough in school before trying it out in the real world because its critical skill required for trucking. I mean why isnt there dummy trucks in the yard for students to practice before they get on the road? But thats just me.
Schools don't teach blindside backing. Prime don't even teach it. This was during TNT with his trainer. Not all trainers will even teach it. He was just trying to show him that you have to GOAL a lot more doing this.
I recall spending an hour trying to blindside in once, at 0200 with very little space or lighting. Not one driver got off his fat ass to help me, but I got it in there after like 20 GOALs 👀
Danny C No they weren’t. There were quite a number of them watching me back in. Brotherhood is dead out here. I’ve helped numerous rooks since then however.
I think you are a good teacher I have my CDL license from another company 8 month but having problem with sleeping trainer and driving 6000 for nothing who do I call for help

Blindside is the same thing as the opposite side is the fact of being a trucker if he would of seen all the space he had in front he would of just pulled up and straighten out the truck and just start backing in obviously G.O.T Be Safe Guys
I don't like blindside either but I'll do it when there's at least 3 open spots next to each other so I have plenty of room just to see how it turns out.
Bro soon as he seen a rookie being taught how to back up that guy was moving as fast as he could LOL you can see it on his face as soon as he said oh you got him and in the back of his mind he said oh hell no I’m out. If it was me I would’ve sat there and let him practice on getting it in that’s the only way he’s going to get better at it. Hopefully I’ll see you in the road again it was nice meeting you that one time.
He needed to cut all the way to the left until covering the red tape on the side of the trailer, reverse slowly and keep the trailer straight backing up. The first cut is very important because you’re aligning the trailer towards the hall then simply cut enough to keep it on track either to left or right. I passed my exam today i should know :)
Great video I think I have the backing figured out in my head. I know its not easy. But I have it figured you steer with the bottom of the steering wheel. You steer to the left the back of the truck gos left. If you steer to the right the truck gos to the right. The hard part is moveing that big long tractor into the right position to put it in that little rinkadink spot. The blind side is also a whole differnt animal. Another great learning video.
I think you may be like me. I understood how backing works way before i got in a truck and when I finally did it was so easy. I went to swift training and they taught me some basics like how to set up and I put it in a tight hole on my first try. Been good since and I've been driving for 3 years now
@@joelkaepernick-russell80 Right now im dealing with medical issues for the Dot physical. I was so suppose to go to swift this past april to get my cdl. The recruiter didnt make any sense to me. So I called arizona. and told them about my condition of only having a three month physical. They told me I have to have at least a one year physical. So as soon as I meet there requirements ill try again. Ill have to get another cdl permit. But thats ok ill be very prepaired for class. I read the dmv handbook. I have a app. on my phone. It's kinda funny when that guy left, but also kinda disappointed in the guy. Because veteran truckers like him, should understand and realize that, they had to do the same thing when they started out. So, it couldn't hurt to give some advice or pointers something. Instead of not going to risk my new truck on getting damage by rookie. I hope that when I get my cdl at some point. That some veteran driver that has been doing it for a long time and try to help. But I know this a old video but, I lovem because they truly help.

Personally i like to roll up the window cover so i can look out the window. I think the guy driving the yellow pete was surprised that a trainer was helping his student. Lol
The other driver was concerned when he said he was practicing but with junior there he should have had no worries. Then after he backs up a few times we notice that the other truck is gone. He just panicked and left. That's ok just more room for the student.

Lol I was thinking the same thing 😂 nice trailer
why was he scared its not like it says Swift in the sid of your truck
Worse it says prime
this is rediculous. NEVER blind side alley dock between 2 trucks. pull up, do a U turn and do it the right way
I just said the same thing. lol
Rules to blind side backing, NEVER blind side back
I had to backup to the dock on the blind spot side without any room to maneuver! I had to use 90° to get in! It took me 15 minutes! 🙆♂️🙆♂️🙆♂️
Great job bro what would happen if you sleep on the highway ? just wondering.
