They also had to invest many more millions just to keep the business afloat. But in the end, it all paid off. Frank Fertita just bought a 308ft yacht for $175 million (+$17.5 million in annual operating costs). He and his brother Lorenzo have a net worth of $2.8 billion dollars after selling the UFC to Endeavor for $4 billion in 2016. Dana White also cashed in pretty heavily. If a fight is good everyone automatically goes well yeah it was the fighters. But a lot of thought goes into not just making that fight but how does that fight effect next fight? Next 10 fights? Shit goes bad and it's Dana. UFC will not be the same when Dana retires, same with Rogan. I might not always agree with what he does or says, but he makes the fights that we all want to see. If boxing did this than they would probably still be on top. Yes fighter pay should be addressed. But as a business you can't pay everyone top dollar before they prove their self. I personally think he should fully fund 4-6 mma training gyms. So if a fight gets canceled last minute there training would be covered. And flip side would be if you need a fighter now you in theory have a stable of trained fighters ready to go. Which there gyms would encourage to keep the funding from UFC. Not a perfect idea but better than how it is now. Would also give retired UFC fighters job opportunities when they were done fighting.
