I love azealia and I'm a long time fan of her, but it's been a time that the way she raps isn't the same, I don't know if thats a production thing, the mixing of the vocals, she just don't has the same polished rapping and vocals she has on Broke with expensive taste, compare the way she raps now with the way she raps in Liquorice, for example, now her rap is all over the place, I'm not saying this for hate, Her vocals are powerfull as ever, but maybe that's cause of working with cheaper production while the releases from treasure island to backwards where done with big producers (?), Azealia used to have good adlibs, different toned raps, and layering of vocals, now it's just a straight line of vocals on everything .

The truth is unfortunately drugs did this to he. I followed her during her EP and LP releases and she would only really smoke weed sometimes. Then after a lot of the controversies she began to use harder substances like coke/Molly and adderall and psychedelics. She went manic and started seeing a psychiatrist that then prescribed her antipsychotics and an antidepressant. She was diagnosed bipolar. After like 2-3 years on these meds she tries to relate music which was ok but ( 2017 era) then she went off all her meds & went vegan and this is her current form. I believe she has done quite a bit of brain damage. Antipsychotics shrink your brain and ssris and long term cocaine and amphetamine use lower dopamine in the brain slowing it down and increasing chances of getting Parkinson’s and dementia.
Yes, pertaining to her rap songs as of late, they've felt "empty" and the audio quality in general is just subpar.
