Actually it's a very old technique, but I haven't seen it use in jewellery much, so I thought I'd spread it around. You're welcome and thanks for watching!
I have watched many videos on this subject, I was a machinist and understand tools but am trying to learn more in the jewelry business You are one of few that uses your tools correctly. Too many You Tube Vid's demonstrate how NOT to correctly use a tool. You can obviously teach techniques and proper tool use as demonstrated, and I learned today. Thank you so much
Thank you, I appreciate that. 😊 Yeah, I think, that a lot of people considered tools (and more tools) as a solution and don't take the time to practice. Thanks for watching!
@@ShapingSilver i just tried making a bracelet and instead of using a vice (which i dont have) i just used a clamp and clamped the ends of the wire directly to my table and it worked out ok
Hallo Oliver, herzlichen Dank für Deine schnelle Antwort und die guten Erklärungen. Ich wünsche Dir einen guten Start in die neue Woche. Grüße aus Ulm Maren
Hello, your bracelet is very beautiful. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. I would have some questions... Which gauche of wire you used for the silverbracelet and is bezel wire 0,4-0,5mm (24-22g) for the ends okay? In the video the bracelet seems a little soft. Gets it strong enough in the tumbler and by hammering? Sorry for my bad English. Greetings from Germany Maren
Hi Maren. The technique will scale with the wire gauge. The size I used is 0.8 mm. After annealing I drew it down from 1 mm, so it's medium soft and the brading and hammering will harden it. If you think it's too soft, bend it in the opposite direction to harden it. Tumbling will not work harden things. Kein Problem, ich spreche auch ein bisschen Deutsch. ;-)
This is a new technique…better when working with many strands. I love ❤️ it. Thank you so much for sharing I appreciate

You actually made this process easy to understand. I going to try it, thanks!!
Thank you. 😊 Please do, and look up the technique, there are loads of patterns out there.

I am so impressed by the way that you manage to keep things so straight and uniform....I am a big fan of this as it makes a much finer piece!
Thank you. 😊 Good to hear.
I love the braid and clever end caps. You're a great teacher! thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! And thanks for watching.
Excellent work as always! Love the copper ring too.
Thank you Geoff. I'll make you one in silver if you like and throw in ship-to-VOG pile, if you like?

You're welcome, but thanks for watching! 😊
Very nice tutorial. This is on my "try it" list now. I think I will start with Paracord... lol. Thanks, Oliver!
Sounds good. Let me know how it went. :-)

It sure is. Thank you for watching. 😊
In summary, double strand of outer wires always go towards the center, and they go on top of the other two double strands
😍😍😍
Great job man you fingerd that out briantly ;)
Tak skal du have Lars. :-)
what type of watch are you wearing?
It's a Seiko sports automatic with a map distance wheel. Sort of a rarity, as few uses paper maps anymore. 😉
Hello sir
Hello. 🙂
Braiding to confusing.
Slow down and speak and explain.
You can slow down the video in the controls. I don't think, there is much to say about the braid. Thanks for watching!
