    Great tips on accessing areas and to demonstrate your good will to pick up trash where others have abused an access area. Enjoying your videos.

    Awesome rally at the end there, Jeff! Also appreciate you saying for 2-1/2 hours you got nothing, rather than just showing all the catches only... Makes us like to watch all the more cause you keep it real and have off times just like us..Thanks!

      Scott, I get skunked in the winter quite often. All day, no bites. I learn some places like this, and can frequently hit a totally unknown section of river and find a few. All of it helps you develop mental toughness and an ability to focus on what might be a super subtle bite after hours of nothing. Winter fishing makes us better anglers year ‘round.

    • @scottfrey2710
      @scottfrey2710 11 місяців тому

      Proof again why I appreciate your honesty, Jeff! If we just see the catches you make only, I'd think your never got skunked like me! :-) I did fish at Northumberland with two guys to try winter "Suskie" fishing.. No bites, but one of the other guys got three in a half hour, so I know they hit even in January! I am slow coming to the fishing party on the Suskie, but sure trying to learn & give it a go! Much appreciate your part in it, Jeff! :-)

    Proud 3%er! Been using your tactics in the Ozarks for smallies, first time going for them during the winter. Rivers here are more narrow, also been low and clear since summer. Makes it a challenge but still fun!

      The finesse bulletz are my go to jig on rivers. They come through clean on almost all structure types. I find I really need to work to get them to snag. My hookup ratio is excellent on them. Keeps them pinned as well. Just my experience though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I also like the inside the hull storage on my Lite Tackle. I had it on my Tarpon 130x and I missed that feature on my ATAK 120. I frequently fish with just two rods out laying down flat in front of me but have alternate setups out of the way inside the hull if needed.

    • @TheLittleStuff
      @TheLittleStuff  11 місяців тому +2

      The ATAK 140 has that internal storage, but it is NOT the boat to do this sort of trip with. Two rods out front is a good deal Dave.

    Good to see you wearing a dry suit, many in winter do not (and it's a recipe for disaster). I've been picking up trash on the shores lately each time out, it's just good policy, so many idiots throwing junk all along the waterways.

      Sites? Nope. Not for places like that one. It takes some research and leg work to find access like that one. For sure each state has an agency that maintains and lists access points like ramps.

      Dear Jeff, I’ve seen many people specifically from the community here in Mexico concerned about dragging the kayaks on the ground but I’ve seen you doing it regularly and carelessly. Are they really easy to repair or dificult to crack when dragging?. Thanks for your video

    • @scottfrey2710
      @scottfrey2710 11 місяців тому

      Eventually anything drug across rocks will wear through, but they are pretty rugged and take a LOT to get holes in. But, on one of my kayaks, I bought a sheet of .80" thick black Kydex plastic online, cut it to size, heated it and molded it to shape, and attached it with 3M Double Stick Marine tape over the wear spots. Kydex is super strong & takes a beating and you can drag over rocks for years without it going through! And the kayak hull never gets touched! I got the idea on You Tube at " ua-cam.com/video/OrHe4U2lYYA/v-deo.html " Enjoy!! :-)

    Hmm..at 17:30 you said you let the Spybait sink down to near the bottom...but it has propellers on each end like its a top water bait... So not sure why propellers if it sinks...So how does that work, Jeff? PS: Love your creativity in launching your kayak! I did similar stuff when I fished Tennessee for 9 days... Gotta do what it takes to get to the fish! :-)

    • @TheLittleStuff
      @TheLittleStuff  11 місяців тому +1

      Scott, the propellers throw flash in all directions. You move the bait slowly through the middle of the water column. Slow, steady retrieve.

    There was a company that made a strap that if you flipped your kayak, you could put your foot in it and assist yourself back into the kayak. I thought it may be that rogue gear company but I didn’t see one. Do you know of that company I’m talking about? I should have wrote it down when I first saw it.

    • @TheLittleStuff
      @TheLittleStuff  11 місяців тому +2

      Just lash any tie down strap to the seat frame and adjust it ahead of time to your body/leg length. I use the YakAttack ones, but any of them will work.

    If you covered in video and I missed it-apologies- I realize state laws could be different is it always legal to park on shoulder like that? At least in PA? May be stupid how do I research that in my state(I am Maryland-you may be familiar).

    • @TheLittleStuff
      @TheLittleStuff  11 місяців тому +1

    You mentioned that your viewing audience drops when you're not catching fish. Well, I suppose if people want just fish catches they probably would like, your buddy, Jake Harshman' videos. Personally I think a lot of the real value is before, in between and at the end of all your catches. I can study what you're doing, how you're rigging ,what you're using and how you are using it. As someone who's getting into kayak fishing at 63 that's where I'm learning the most. I can study some of the not mentioned details down to what looks like a Daiwa Fuego LT and I don't even use one. The viewers that are dropping out are missing some of the best stuff.

    • @TheLittleStuff
      @TheLittleStuff  11 місяців тому +1

      We all have different styles of storytelling. I enjoy Jake’s approach. It’s different than mine. I focus quite a bit on how to retain an audience at the beginning. I know that if I can get a viewer to settle in, they might absorb more of my messages. Teaching by showing is important. I did a video a year ago in which I did not narrate at all.
