I’ve had sisterlocks for 2 years now and love it and am currently a sisterlocks trainee in Grand Prairie Tx. I follow your loctician and love her work!!! Congrats and welcome to the sisterlocks sisterhood ❤️
They look good and healthy! It was good to hear what she said about the shampoo! I usually ask my new clients what they currently use on their hair and tell them to continue to use that shampoo as long as it is not a 2n1 or containing detangling properties. I feel the drastic change from a moisturizing shampoo to the SL shampoo increases the risk of dry scalp...just my opinion. I’ve seen a big beneficial difference in allowing new clients to continue with what their hair and scalp is already use to. I also encourage light oils directly to scalp if needed. I usually tell my new clients to use a wig cap, stocking or netted (the ones used for making wigs I think) depending on thickness and length, when washing their locks and to concentrate on the scalp-this limits movement of the locks without the braiding and banding before washing, while allowing access to the scalp. I agree with diluting the shampoo and spraying it directly on the scalp (before applying the netted wig cap) then using pads of fingers to clean scalp-braiding the hair after the wash can also help with bunching and slippage and once dry your locks will have a little crinkle. Just some ideas, but I do encourage you trust your consultant and chat with her regarding any questions or concerns regarding your loc journey, she has bonded with your hair❤️
This is literally my favorite video on a Sisterlock journey. Your personality is just like mine. Super kind, always smiling, easy going, and drama free. Your video made me smile just with your opening. INSTANTLY!!!! I had to subscribe. I am now officially following your journey. I’m hoping to get my Sisterlocks established by the new year 🙏🏾 because, I too, have had a barbershop faded cut for over 4 years. Wearing protective styles now so I can be ready. Thanks for sharing your looks. Truly you are a beautiful soul. Awesome video! 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
i have been watching video after video about micro locs/sister locs, for the past several months now and i am convinced that this is the way i want to go. My daughter has the thick locs down her back and she been faithful to her loc journey, so now i just feel inspired to join the loc community also. I have been cutting my hair for the past 3 years or so now, and i am trying to get my hair to grow and its taking soooo long, right now its only a little over an inch and i think it needs to be at least 3-4 inches. I have been inspired by this video and others who have gotten locs. I have really enjoyed watching your journey before you actually had the install done thank you for sharing. I have also have watched the diy videos but don't think want to do it(i am not that kind of girl), so if i can get them installed i will try to maintain them. i look forward to my hair growing and the day i will join the loc community. Your video is completely thorough from the way you carried it through your entire journey and your loctitian as well. She is extremely knowledgeable about hair care and aftercare of your locs!!
I am so glad your locktician said low maintenance and not no maintenance because so many folks get sisterlocks and think they need to do nothing to them. I even trim mine.
I’ve noticed that when you wake up your Locs can be smashed/stiff and if shaking doesn’t work then use a 360 continuous spray bottle filled with water or your favorite spray concoction. That way your Locs gets its daily hydration and you get loc movement. However, don’t make the product too heavy especially if you’re using it daily. Either all water or 90/10 water. That’s been my advice given to me. However,
I wore Traditional locs for 7 years and I missed them. Sometime next year, I will get a second set installed. Your Sisterlocs came out great, your hair is nice and thick, and it will fill out and grow in no time. Your consultant seemed very knowledgeable, and charged a very reasonable rate. Here in NYC, they can charge $350-450 or more every 8 weeks for retightening, $600 for installation. Can't wait to see your journey and blessings on becoming a loc'd natural.
The stylist was very informative, I can tell you really like them and the style is very beautiful on you. I use to follow another FA that had them and hers were also beautiful and they grew fast. One of my church member have them and her hair is past her shoulders now. Great job Alexia...❤❤❤
Congratulations and welcome to the SLS community! I’ve had mine for 33 months and 2 day (too specific I’m sure 😂). I’m sure will love them even more as they mature. They look great! I only use the growth elixir by My 7Elements on my scalp.
