The Opinionator The gear depends on the car mainly. I've literally driven over 200 cars around Tsukuba in Gran Turismo. Also, cars have different gear ratios. Most cars would taken the first corner in 2nd gear for example, no matter the power. You might short shift into 3rd for a smoother exit, but that's beyond the fact.

The big thing is price between the ZR1 and the 458.
Jeremy Plummer here in Europe, and it's probably the same in Japan, the ZR1 costs about the same as a 458

That ZR-1 in the USA is probably like 50-60k USD maybe less not sure. A 458 Ferrari is probably in the $200k+ easy
The 458 is one of the great Ferraris. The Corvette is just another one, nothing special imo.

Crazy how a corvette can keep pace with a $300k ferrari.
That's because you're paying for a badge name on the car as a status symbol. Even cars like the old Lamborghini Gallardo got smoked by a 30 grand Subaru. Yeah the top speed is fast but no buddy buys cars to do that anyway.

but it looks so unstable in the corners.. I imagin ALOT of skill is needed for that car to be able to drive it on the limit !
@@dkphantomdk yeah looks like a handful....in many ways the z06 of the same generation was actually the quicker car around tight technical tracks due to the more linear power delivery of the n/a 7 liter.

NSX is Sugoi has little Horsepower, but little weight, razor-sharp handling. a car for racing drivers. Also nice design, I think the best Japanese vehicle. And GT-R. Hardly to believe the NSX already old car ... in this video.

The NSX is almost twenty years older than the ZR1, and the base of the NSX goes back to the late 80s/early 90s, while the C6 was unveiled in the mid 2000s. I don't see how the ZR1 is any "old construction".
Unfortunately Tsuchiya, the HSV10 does not make it to production.
I was wondering what car he was refrencing, the HSV, or the Nismo GT-R... Technically the HSV's tech and development went towards the new NSX, and I'm sure K.Tsuchiya has bought or taken one to a track already.
I like these kind of races.

I love this show. it's so much better than US and UK Motor Trend and Head2Head, etc. I don't even speak Japanese. LOL
What I always like about comparison between cars from different countries, is how they handle.
You can literally see the Ferraris being GLUED to the track, while the NSX sways and drives like a nimble fox. Two totally different driving styles from drivers aswell, but you can see the Ferrari could not take half the turns like the NSX does, and same goes for that.
Nowadays it's very different though, GT-R is glued to the track aswell, and "drifting" cars tend to be less produced, probably because of all the driving systems they have on.
Just an opinion though, nothing definitive :D
P.S. the acceleration on that 360 is BRUTAL
Nikole Racing if 458 have same level tire like the nsxr,458will beat nsx in every single corner,btw nsx has modified suspension.

If the Corvette ZR1 had a Dual-Clutch Gearbox, it would have easily beaten the 458 Italia. Likewise, if the 458 Italia had a Manual gearbox like the 360 Modena it would be very slow shifting through the gears letting it down on the straights and give way to the Corvette ZR1. The ZR1 would be the overall winner in this race because it is much cheaper than a 360 Modena, ~$110,000.
But the ZR1 lost, all that money and american high tech of GM lost to a handmade car made by a dozen of proud Italians in Maranello, why in the world would anyone care about the price of a sport car/super car? We are talking about cars that are not for daily driving and are a status.

The 2017 GT-R NISMO and 2017 NSX should battle the C7 Z06, 997 GT3 RS 4.0, 991 GT3 RS, AMG GT R, 488 GTB, Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce, and McLaren 675LT at FSW, that would make a good Best Motoring reboot

So we got 2 stock cars, 2 tuned cars, and a road legal race car...
Put a supercharger.. or turbo charger and make 500hp in the NSX and modify the chassis a little bit with some really good tires.. you've got a Ferrari destroyer and a straight line monster...
Not necessarily true. Doing that could make the NSX perform worse in the turns.
If you went the N/A tuning route, then yes.

Ive watched well tuned n/a civics destroy turbo civics around a track,because the turbo cars couldn’t keep the boost around twisty corners.
They became bogged down.
I hate to say it, but forced induction isn’t always the best option.

ZR1 is 30 sec faster on the Nurburgring than NSX and 20 sec than 458
Far away from the lap time of Nissan GT-R. The only American car faster than that, is Viper ACR, which is basically a gutted car and even that needed an additional aero package.

nurburgring favor high hp car since its track long with multiple high speed section this track is short and tight it favor handaling and balance
