Welcome to a Tutorial Guide video on How To Play Terran vs Protoss! This guide will provide you with a versatile basic build order, along with tips and pointers on how to harass the Protoss opponent and how to take engagements.
The build in this guide consists of opening with Bio and Widow Mine drops in the early game with a big timing push of bio, Siege Tanks, and a Raven at about the 7 minute mark. We discuss how to scout and defend different Protoss openings with this build, as well as how to execute drop harassments and positioning the main army for the main engagement. We explore the follow-up up with a transition into the lategame with Liberators or optionally ghosts.

Dude, you're doing such a good job here -- and this from 2023. I'm a bloody beginner, but Protoss has been my nightmare. The mine burrow in the natural mineral line never occurred to me; the siege tank positioning is very helpful; and the way you explain the widow mine drop is what I've been looking for since, like, forever. Also, the exact explanation of how Protoss can develop. Very well done, indeed. Thanks a lot!

Small comment. Engineering bay starts at 68 supply after the 3rd barracks goes down. Around 5:00 you ca See it pop into the production tab. That way you have plus one finished at 7:00 when the push happens.
Perceptive viewers will put that together by themselves. I missed it the first time and got +1 all over the place.

I dont know who it was but I heard someone say that you always have to be 1 tech ahead as Protoss but for ne especially against zergs in lower leagues (below Master) it isnt self evident what Tech to go next because if you copy pros Like qt you end up with like 6 units to micro which is not really possible for me in dia without my macro going trash (not enough apm).

oh man I feel ya... I've been sub 30 for a while but am starting to come up and am like 36 now. The biggest thing I'm realizing is, and he touches on this, DONT ENGAGE. Keep your units alive. I started "living to fight another day" and just being more opportunistic with drops and it's made an enormous difference.

the thing about Sc2 at 1v1 there is nobady else to blame than yourself and that does not help with popularity... But when you get bettter at there is a big sence of achiv! i got from gold legue to diamond 3 a year ago and it felt really good.. Love this guide. I've really needed to bring scouting, harassment and strong timing pushes into my game. This build is perfect for me. It feels awkward still. My mmr is actually dropping a bit after a dozen games, but I'm finally starting to get worker kills, keep early drops alive, bring in two and three prong attacks, hit strong timings, etc... Once all these things come together I'll see you in GM.

This is helping me out a lot, i stopped playing when lotv came out and just played some placements to get put in plat in the past, but now I actually came back on the game and having to face a new meta the fact that marauders aren't a instawin vs protoss anymore threw me off balance.

Very nice build order. The only things missing I can think of is how to deal with Protoss cheese builds like proxy immortal... for a long time you only produce from 1 rax (and it started "late" because of reactor build time). So if something hits the bunker and kills it, you run the risk of losing there and then because there is not enough production for reinforcements. So a list of Protoss early game cheeses around 5min mark and how to handle them would make this video perfect. Or maybe make a separate video for those "Why terrans need to love bunker repair micro" :)
Little did this man know what was in store for 2020. I just got back into star craft I remember playing sc1 at a friends 10+ years ago. I forgot how fucking hard this game is. Have been watching many videos but always fuck up scv production.

@@steadyb23 I would suggest going on spawningtool and looking at the battlecruiser+hellion build. I've won most of my games where I use this build (gold player). The cruiser usually makes the zerg payer overreact with tons of either hydras or corrupters. If they go hydras then your hellions should shred through them, especially with blue flame, and if they go corrupters then they have nothing to defend your hellions so you can just crush their economy.

Great video, I just wish you had included an actual example of you using this on ladder and seeing how it went against a real opponent. I remember you used to do that sometimes on your older guide videos and thought it was a really cool mix to have the guide up front and the example game after.

I'd love to see any protoss guides. If I were to pick, probably protoss verus terran, I think I build a decent comp but I have a really hard time dealing with terrans doing basically what you described in this guide.
