@Big Dragon 1. They were foam balls, basically trying to catch a tennis ball from 15 feet. 2. He was using a trainer, like a 9.5" glove that hasn't been broken in. 3. Like you could do better lol
the best part of that was the fast or slow part. before they started hitting the ball he wanted him to take the extra shuffle and he kept doing it the fast way, but at the same time he was working on holding the line so coach let him work on that and didnt over coach him just let him hold the line and go fast runner footwork. he even made a joke about the video to loosen the player up a little and relax. once he took a good fungo and he felt like he was holding the line, he switched back to fast or slow and making the player say it and then process if he went fast or slow. such good coaching.
These videos are the best! As a little league coach while I don’t have all the great training equipment they have it’s nice to see how professional coaches really talk to players
@Big Dragon They are foam balls that are harder to catch so you have to have even better hands than a regular baseball. The foam balls will just bounce off the glove if your hands aren't good. He caught most of them. An average high schooler would butcher all of them.
I wish the Braves did more on Ron Washington drills other than the same one about their pregame drill. Infield drills are some of my favorite things to watch
Was fortunate enough to work with Kai on Infield drills at my time at Northern Colorado, nothing but knowledge on the game as well as drills that translate to game like situations! Good stuff here.
@Big Dragon Bro why are you just replying to every comment saying that Kai and Dubon are terrible. If you had any similar amount of skill, then why aren't you in the majors?
Even though a lot of these is over my head.I still like seeing behind the scenes. Also think that some coaches who coaches do little league or any where up to the College level.Mite get some ideas on how to coach his or her players. Will be interested in seeing more of these videos.Stay safe everyone, and lets Go Giants.☮🗺
love this! One question, though. If you've determined it's a(4-step) slow runner but you get a weak grounder you'll want to change to a two-step(fast) release?
We better see something special this year. Defense was horrible last year with a few exception players. No big moves by the team and a lot of re-treads. Kai....you need to produce some Gold Glove players otherwise the farm system better produce them. Gmen are getting skunked in the Free Agency market. I think you are over your head and the Giants staff from the GM and down is in jeopardy this year. I predict a worse year this year than last. Kai....Please Please Please prove me wrong. I know you are trying hard and have a great opportunity, but I still think the best coaches have done it at the highest level. You seem like you would be a great coach at Low A,. but with the big club.....I am not sold.
I forget what vid some dope argues with me about errors. Giants are still LAST in the entire MLB....Come on bro....the WORST in the entire MLB. I am not sure the islands are where players come from...University of Puget Sound is not where Gold Glover players are generated and coached from. Let's get real.
“Dance to the song the game plays.” Love it!
Kai’s one liners always get me! “Very rarely we will be punished for being aggressive with glove, very often will we be punished when we are passive.”

Amazing seeing Dubón progress but keep his fun energy! 🖤⚾️🧡

Kai is a great teacher

@Big Dragon Sweet burner! Just look up University of Northern Colorado Baseball where he coached & I played. Is Google too tall of a task for you?
@Big Dragon Question answered. Google is challenging for you.

Love this video, showing the work between player and coach, this is a great video for not only the kids to watch but for little league coaches also.

Jordans go crazy.
I can watch Dubon catch grounders while talking with Kai all day
Man those Orange Molded Jordan 9’s are Saucy🏆✅
Turning into my favorite trainers.
What is the foam ball that is being used? Where can they be obtained? Thank you!
To excel, gotta work.
Let’s go babyyyy love these vids.
Make a video about outfielders too please. 🙇♂️⚾️🔥
Kai, where do you get the foam 5oz balls?
Dennis Pelfrey is the man
Dubon has a very bright future... keep an eye on him.

Boi shoes on fire 🔥
Love these
Can someone spec these foam balls they are using?
good stuff 👊
“Dance to the song the game plays” 😶
That’s cool 🧡🖤
stop being everywhere
Came for the video... stayed for the J's
What training glove is Dubon using?
It looks like a valle training glove.
What kind of trainer glove and balls were those
Valle training gloves. Heater Power Alley Lite.
For a big league middle infielder he is awfully choppy. Loud feet. Overactive upper body nothing flows with the motion.
What kind of foam dense balls are those? Look like white dimple balls.
Would love to know too. Maybe Juggs sting free balls. The consistency of the grounds balls indicate the use of a pitching machine
Heater Power Alley Lite. He uses the Power Alley Lite machine as well. Even before games on field.

Well, there you go. Gabe is gone and I suspect his bench coaches will follow. Disaster of a season.
