    Before you step into the interview room or go to a coffee chat, you need to do your research on the company. It's critical to do your diligence in order to prepare for the qualitative part of interviews and ask thoughtful questions. At a minimum, you need to dig through the company's website, read news articles, and check salary databases. You should also study up on one deal or investment they have. We'll walk you through an example of how to efficiently research a private equity firm.

    I followed your tips on having 2 coffee meet ups and as it turns out, the person met and had a chat with was the director who's team i was suppose to join. He told me to skip the interview with his associate and just join in :D

    another great video. I have been reading about Private equity as an industry, but frim level info remains scarce. firm specific information about is what I am looking for. A comparison video between the following firms in terms of lifestyle, working hours, culture, type of specialization, compensation, structure of hierarchy would be great.

    Great Video Man! Any chance you can make a video for top target or feeder schools for undergrads to go into HF and video looking at a PE vs HF vs IB salary wise throughout the whole career, I’ve been trying to do my own research but every website has different num es and the inconsistency are drastic and you seem you have reliable data, again great video thanks!

    • @PeakFrameworks
      @PeakFrameworks  3 роки тому +1

      There's no real undergrad feeders for HF, not enough HFs hire out of school. Maybe Harvard and Penn and some top kids at the banking schools, but aside from that it's extremely slim. HF salary is really hard to pin down since it's so cyclical, which is why the data is so bad.
      PE and HF are both >>> IB at the top funds though.
      PE and HF are similar at the median salary, but top HF is going to be >> PE. HF is much wider variance than PE.

    Great video Matt! Quick question - how far in advance of first-year analyst on cycle recruiting should one start reaching out for coffee chats with buyside firms? Is it too soon to start in the spring of your final year of university?

    • @PeakFrameworks
      @PeakFrameworks  3 роки тому +1

      I think final year of university is probably a bit too early. I would network with first / second years in banking who have gone through recruiting and might be headed to PE firms. I think you can start networking as soon as you hit the desk as an analyst. Any earlier and you'll probably get turned down a lot / not have anything interesting to talk about.
      Senior year is probably the best time to start preparing technically though because you have so much spare time.

      Yeah, I actually just finished cutting the data (Harvard and Penn are first). I'll probably film and upload within the next two months!

    Can you please make a video on the top 10 IB banks to work at and what sets them apart from each other. Such as salaries, work-life balance, vacation, team productivity, etc.

    I had a question though, what marks do I need in High School in order to get into Ivey Business School?

    • @PeakFrameworks
      @PeakFrameworks  3 роки тому

      In Ontario, probably 90%+ and at least 2 good extra-curriculars, depending on your school. No idea for other areas. I had 95%+ for top 6 and so did many of my friends who went to Ivey..

    Hi, I m 36 year old.after 10 year educational gap (with no relevant experience) I finished bsc ecnomics 2020 from non target degree.
    Can I become financial analyst at any investment bank? Does age matters?
    Any CFA (to be done) Suggestions?

    • @PeakFrameworks
      @PeakFrameworks  3 роки тому

      Depends on the school you went to, if you have alumni in banking then it should be doable. Age matters a little bit, most people over 30 tend to enter at the associate level. I don't think the CFA is that helpful.

    Hey, if i am from postgrad college with finance major, no t from any university in canada.
    So, what are the chances to grt into ib, pe or hedge funds, consulting etc.. Even they consider college students as candidate?

    • @PeakFrameworks
      @PeakFrameworks  3 роки тому +1

      Uh, did you go to school in the US? If you didn't go to school in US or Canada, you probably can't break into IB / PE unless you went to a selected top school from a few specific countries (UK, Australia...)
