This is the first video I have watched from this channel. Our host packs a lot of information into his words! I like the general overview idea. Heading off to Ep.2 now. Subscribed.
Fun enough I was just watching out of boredom. I aquascape my aquariums, as your talking about the equipment im thinking to myself. I have all these things already. Maybe I will grow some, just need a tent kit & some flower😂
Also rapid rooters instead of rockwool cubes . I use it to help the seedling maintain stability because the young plant will move around when changing water and that could damage it
Can you explain this?? Why?? I’m on week 5 in flower and i have 4 clones in Rockwool. I’m on week 3ish and roots are starting to expose. What’s the difference between RR and Rockwool?
@@ManniX4Prez rockwool is basically instillation material and could burn young roots and as the young plant absorb the water from the rockwool it’s also absorbing what is in the material it makes for a harsh smoke. The Rapid Rooters are organic and safe for young roots and has no harsh materials in it that could burn the roots or have harsh smoke once cured.
@@ronniesingleton8877 thanks for the information. i run DWC, can that be used as a medium along with clay pellets as i currently have with Rockwool? I definitely want to give this a shot for my next grow
I tried a few different air stones then found the 4 inch flat round ones that suction cup to the bottom of the bucket and I love those so that's all I use now
yes fam will be following along,,,still not got this seedling stage 100% yet still a few issues,,,,always learning got a few autos an photo fems in now,,,so will let you know how it goes,,,looking to max out light an space this time,,,thinking of running 3 x20l DWC this time and see what I can do now,,,esp having that 1st grow completed an jarred
most nutes are made by one company...also grow more Mendocino mircro and bloom are made by the same company that makes general hydro and cost less if u can find it. also dont need silica if ur nutes contain pot ash as potash is anywhere from 20-70 silica, these companies have been taking advantage of growers with trippy colorful labels..also calmag is needed if ur using ro water but see how much 2 put in ur nutes and adjust to the average of what tap water contains, I usually do half the recommended dose and no deficiencies.
Not sure if you are so using these kinds of air pumps, but they output a lot of heat into the water. Danner makes quality pumps that run quieter and cooler.
I did that with the stubs from hydroponic lettuce. Suspended them in the water with nutrient on a barbecue skewer in a 2 litre pop bottle with the top cut off. I just topped it up now and again with water and grew 2 new heads, one red, one green. Tasted good.
Keep in mind that any time you take air and force it to travel down a smaller tube you heat the air, and now you are going to put that warm or hot air out the air stones in the way of hot bubbles onto the delicate roots and heat the water up that you are trying to keep cool. There are articles about getting away from using air stones and just let the water you pump into the grow bucket shoot down into the water creating oxygen bubbles, so long as you are not using the under current system.
What do special about this stuff??? I don't get it. My plants outside in a green house is simple and less maintenance. I thought it would be awesome to do hydro. But it's turning into to much bs...
They grow faster and if you run into a issues like root rot, ph imbalance, or nutrient deficiency/ toxicity you can address it faster and keep on growing.
I think the DWC growing style is more for the hands on grower. The ones that don’t want to set and forget, but want to constantly tinker with their plants like me. DWC I love the attention my girls need from me. Keeps me busy!

Good to see some good information with suggestions but being non bias... Good stuff 👌
I found the cylinders works best . I’ve tried them all but the cylinders work best I only needed one per bucket
Also rapid rooters instead of rockwool cubes . I use it to help the seedling maintain stability because the young plant will move around when changing water and that could damage it
Yea I prefer rapid rooter over rockwool as well

It's not that complicated, temp humidity ph n proper fertilizer...to water is nice but plenty of stuff has been grown with regular tap back in the day
