Great restoration as always. I do have a question would PlastX work on the plastic trigger like it does on screwdriver handles. It's nice to see tools restored instead of scraped. Thank you for your expertise
PlastX would have smoothed the plastic out but not restored the color because it was faded through. Funny you mentioned it because I just used PlastX to restore the yellowed plastic cover on an old battery charger gauge yesterday, Took it from barely being able to see through it to looking nice in a few minutes. That'll be in a video coming up in a few weeks.
Slow and steady, I like it…really helps me to keep up with what you’re doing..
Thanks! I try to include everything in a reasonable amount of time. Have you got one of these?
@@floridarusticrepairs no I don’t
I've never seen one. Great job.
Thanks! First one I had seen as well.
Nice saw a real collector piece. As usual good job Matt!
Thanks! It''s a cool saw. A bit awkward but certainly usable.
I have seen many Skil Model 77 worm drive saws as well as our own made in Canada Skil 77c but this 577 is a first for me.
Yes, I don't think it's very common as this is the only one I've seen. 1965 as far as I can tell.
Interesting..... I'm actually going to look for one of those. I'd like to see how it works.
it's a cool setup and once you get a feel for the design it's comfortable enough.

Thanks for that information @@floridarusticrepairs
What is this Skill Saw used for? Great job reconditioning this tool. Your very thorough. Thank you for sharing!
💯👏👊👍
Thanks for watching! I think this would be used the same as a traditional type Sawzall. Cuts wood or metal depending on the blade.
Very nice rehab, looks great! I see there was a one finger trigger version also. Do you know what year this version is? Thanks for the video
Thanks! I have seen the 577 recipro saw listed with this style trigger in a 1965 catalog but I'm not sure when it first appeared.
