I relate to the dude from Utah. As a Seattle Kingster, the Kings are still my team. I'm 45 years old and have rooted them my whole life. As a kid, my family had Season tix at the forum. The kings FINALLY winning the CUP in 2012 was one of the best three days of my life (my children's births being the others). I didn't think I'd ever care that Seattle got a team. I was just excited I'd get the opportunity for the KINGS to come to town and see them a couple more times each season. However, the Kraken organization has been so good to the city and fans its been hard not to get caught up in the hype. My Father-in-law and bro-in-law have Season tix and I've probably been to 10+ games each of their two seasons.
I am no way considering abandoning the Kings, ever. Lord knows they've given me enough bad seasons that if I were a fickle fan I'd have done it by now. Being a Kingster is in my DNA, but I'm at the point now I can admit that I'm a fan of both teams. And when it comes to head-to-head competition, I'm at a point where I'm just rooting for whoever needs the points more at any given time. My fear is the day they meet in the playoffs, but lets be honest, I'll probably be all Kingster in that scenario. I hope it never happens. But I "get" the conundrum.

Like you, I'm a transplant now living in Texas. I pray the Kings and Stars don't face each other in the playoffs. I would NEVER consider rooting for the Stars over the Kings, but I hate that somebody has to lose the series. GKG! 👑

Die hard Kings fan here since Gretzky arrived. I moved to the Dallas area over 17 years ago and still remain a faithful Kings fan. I watch every Kings game on TV never wavering from that. The Kings are my team forever.
Over time, I have learned to really enjoy watching the Stars play and be a hockey fan in the midst of a city that is ALL about football first. I root for the Stars, as they are now my third favorite team, but when the Kings come to town, there's no question where my loyalty lies. I attend Kings/Stars games in my favorite Tomas Sandstrom jersey and I make a ruckus at American Airlines Center. It's fun and I'm always surprised how many L.A. transplants/supporters come to the games.
Like Eddie said, have a girlfriend team, as it were, and support other teams because it's nice to have a team to root for when the Kings aren't so good, but your wife comes first. Support Utah HC but when L.A. comes to play in SLC, wear the silver and black.

I am also a Kings fan living a block away from the Delta Center where UHC will play.. I will gladly support both teams at the same time. I have way too much nostalgia and merchandise associated with the Kings that I could never give up. They also will be playing in separate divisions which helps, so I don’t think a rivalry is all that likely. I’ll be wearing a Robitaille jersey for the preseason game between Utah and LA on the 23rd😄

I’m thinking last year was sort of all or nothing and I’m hoping this year it’s time to bring in the future players with that being said I like the plan. Had to give the veterans one more chance (didn’t work out but they owed that to them) that being said we shall see early on in the season if that’s true. GKG

Stephen, I'd love to know where your UA-cam channel is.
I'm a collector and trying to obtain just ONE card of every player that has ever officially played at least one regular season game for the Kings since 1967. This will be a never-ending project as I intend to continue to do it and then have it all mailed to the Kings organization after my time comes.
I've got a good start, but the research and cost is preventing me from finishing it.

Gavrikov being traded… he has a NMC, which he had the last time it was discussed. So it’s not as simple as ‘needing to trade him’. You keep ignoring it.
Also Gavrikov elevated Roy’s performance. He played his best hockey as a Kjng alongside Gavrikov, although he still have the puck away for fun whilst also having poor net coverage.

As far as PLD.... It's a basic talking tactic where you take a lil blame n put a lil blame else where. People do that when they know they're at fault n no way of fixing the situation. At least you took off half of the blame from yourself. Guy's a waste of an nhl contract.

So the predominant feeling is that Gavrikov would waive his NMC?
If so, why wouldn't the team bump him up to the top line with Doughty to boost his trade value?
Also, given that the team has had issues moving on from their HoF players (understandable), why not pair Clarke with Anderson sooner than later?

That's my understanding as well. Will be interesting to see if the Kings are not in playoff position near the trade deadline and try to move him and he isn't willing to waive it though.
I'm of the mindset though depending on their play, whether they are in playoff positioning at the deadline that they should try to move him anyway if they don't have any intention of bringing him back most likely due to what he'll be looking to get his next contract even if trading him like this goes against the norm for NHL clubs.
