That's not a bad thing, but even trying to argue it's deep in comparison to many other games is dead wrong. It is complex in a vacuum, but way less than other card games

It's nice to see Rudy acknowledge that FaB's market is different than MTG and Pokemon. FaB is closer to YGO, which is a Player's Market. Boxes don't sell nearly as well singles, because players are way more interested in specific class cards for their decks rather than entire sets.

Also: glad LSS officially scrapped EVR unlimited...sealed EVR prices are like 10 feet underground. No cards in the whole set is really expensive or particularly chased. Plus the first edition print run of 229k boxes is more than enough for a decade of box breaking. Releasing unlimited EVR would have been a disaster.

Anyone watching the market could see that FAB just wasn't moving. Rudy calling that out had nothing to do with the fact FAB wasn't moving as much product. Obviously the playerbase wasn't as big as expected and investors/collectors being long gone after getting burned by the whole Monarch block (monarch, ToA, and Everfest print run shenanigans) probably has the most to do with it. Hope FAB can move past that for good, it's a good card game in the end.

Everfest is a real special set. Cfs dont hold too crazy value beside the fable. Equipment isnt played too much so those tanked too. It has Many multiplayer format cards even that just casually exsists a lil bit but som daaamn strong majestics as well which i can only expect rising in future. Especially since there is no unlimited and the cards already are sometimes 20 per piece. Would living legend format be bigger then that many many cards would be quite hard to get i imagine. Ps. Non foil rare passing mirage alone is like 3 to 5 bugs and those are despite prism being super meta.
God people were so delusional about the CF rares.. like you can’t compare to WAC print runs and general power level for CF Commons and Rares, MON CF Cs had already dropped off a cliff, ELE CF Cs we’re dirt cheap and not strong, so EVR CF Rs being cheap just made sense especially since they were generally situational at best.

Heavy Hitters and Bright Lights did nothing for me, I still feel that FAB 2.0 is and was a horrible degrade. The overprint of the second Block(MON, TOA and EVR) also is still holding the growth of these and other sets down.
I swear the problem with this game is the amount of "zones" the game has for card pieces... like if you are going to carry this game, you have to be well stocked on Flesh and Blood Playmats to cater to new players... like, to sell these to players who want to get into a new game, those playmats are like required. It seems bad enough that they need a New Player product like a Fat Pack that bundles a playmat inside it.
There's a crazy amount of playmats out there. A lot of LGSs would have spares. A lot would give them out to new players. I see many sold by existing players, some cheaper than others.
I told everyone back then that the hype would be gone within two years and it did. The game is just for a small community of gamers without an investment element

Naa, if you wanna rip boxes for value and get rich i dunno.. id suggest getting a case always. And maybe you get a good one and can sell 3,4 cards for the value of the case. Thats the fun thing of FaB boxes for rippers. If you hit you hit big and dont need 30 cards like in mtg to send out.
