This technique is called reverse applique. It's a killer technique because it creates so much drama. There are some cultures in South and Central America that have really done some exquisite work in this vein. I highly recommend googling them. It never occurred to me to try it with motifs like this for upcycling. Now I have so many ideas I don't know where I'm going to start! Thanks, Ben!
This is such a unique idea! I appreciate the mighty algorithm who recommended your video. Lovely idea, great execution, awesome explaining/visualising and very enjoyable presentation ^_^. Thank you very much and I hope you'll have a wonderful life
Great job. This is a great thing to do if you are creative because the possibilities are endless. You can have any type of hoodie you like. I hope to see more of these in the future because each one you made has been very cool.
Very cool video, thank you! Only I didn't understand how to sew on the inserts on the sleeve so that you can put your hand in it and hold the inserts. Sorry for my English and the lack of logic.
Thank you for this tutorial! So helpful! One question I had was, how do you sew the sleeves? Do you just need to manipulate the fabric? I can't figure out how to do it without sewing them both together haha
THIS IS SO COOL 😭! Will the cut out pieces that you've sewn together fray? Also did you hide the edges of the fabric and then sewed it together? I'm a bit confused 😭
Hello, I'm wondering if you left the edge of the insert raw between the black, red and blue design. Or if you folded the edges and then sewed together? Thanks
one thing you didn't mention but I saw you do was when sewing you'd take out the pin when you got to that part of sewing it. is there a certain way you should pin it ? it almost looked like you had one going forward and the other backwards in a pattern ?
being honest it doesn’t make much of a difference, but my personal opinion is that it is best to pin with the round sphere part of the pin facing towards you when your garment is on the sewing machine and then pulling the pins out as you get close. i’ve tried pinning across the garments (like perpendicular to the direction your moving your garment along) and i find it’s more cumbersome.
Great video thanks for the help. I do have a question though. How are you sewing the designs on to the hoodie without it going through both layers of the hoodie?
when you are moving the hoodie onto the sewing platform, you hold the back of the hoodie so that only the front of the hoodie moves onto the sewing platform if that makes sense. if your still confused DM me on instagram and i can send you a video to help explain!
i’ve made new tutorial that’s way better and more detailed. check it out ➡️ ua-cam.com/video/Ahp4ncXkZFk/v-deo.htmlsi=yDzwULarNfzy1lUP

love it 😍
Great video man! The final results was insane 🔥. QQ, when stitching the fabric to the sweatshirt.. are you just using a straight stitch?
yep! you can also use a zig zag stitch which I've used before which creates some cool texture, but strength wise they both work
@ thanks man! 🐐 💪🏾🔥
