or they can just make the reward quest to not impact the opponent’s health… Lifetap, self damage card, etc will give you lifesteal for rest of the game, basically you no longer take your own damage on your turns

It's safe to say at this point that demon seed is the most broken card in HS history

The demon seed was so badly designed, it basicly ensured whenever pain warlock got support itd break things, when hurting themselves is a core part of warlock they either have to ban the card, rework it completely or just abandon the self hurt warlock archtype
And they won't abandon it unfortunately like they did for mech shaman/shudder shaman (they're actively trying to print only shit battlecries and push murloc/aggro packages)...
Remember when dealing damage to your own hero was a sacrifice/gamble instead of a gain/win condition.
to be fair that's how it went in magic as well, it started out as a detriment and now it's just how some decks win the game

It's like Twist could have been WIld but with the most broken stuff banned, with periodic checks to add/remove cards that might have become problems, or might no longer be problems.
How about the devs kill the demon seed, the actual problem and not one of the cards around it. "Clearly, flesh giant is the problem with the demon seed. Let's nerf that by one mana." Banning mass production will do nothing. The demon seed is the issue.
Mass production will fix the problem... temporarily. The Demon Seed is indeed the main problem => Anytime they print self-damage cards, it risks breaking that card.
Idk why they are so hesitant to nerf obvious problem cards, but I'm gonna assume because it's a legendary (so we would get dust)
They should kill the quest like the mage quest.. but what they do.. they make another one.. (zarrimi)

I think they could fix the demon seed quite easily. Simple change it from a "For the rest of the game" effect to a "While this minion is on the board" kinda deal. It would still be strong, don't get me wrong, but at least a) you need to have enough mana to play the minion + some follow up and b) you can react to it as the opponent

thats not a fix. A fix is when it change tehe card in a fair way. Not kill it. To give him the effect you say kill the quest completly.
When you give it that effect you must reduce the mana cost of the card to maybe 3 and also reduce the dmg you must taken, a lot. Also not more 30 dmg. han maybe. But only to change the effect you say kill the card because than its not more worth it to make the way to make the quest itself.
change it to damage from your cards and hero power, change the rules for fatigue not being your card so it cannot trigger the reflection, then spending health for cards doesnt count as damage from your cards, then change mass production to lose 2 hp instead of taking 2 damage. now a lot of the functions remain the same without going overboard.
demon seed was always a problem, especially in duels where warlock can get the ability to attack things with the demon seed
@@nuhrii3449 demon seed was over a year NOT a problem. After they bring it back in wild you see some times a Seed deck. Thats it. You have seen other decks much much more often. Also a "problem" is something much different.
That id didnt count for fatigue ok. Thats a ok nerf. The spending health for cards not. Because thats to much. But the fatigue dmg ok. That they can count. or overall delete the fatigue dmg system. Nobody needs it. Only as a card effect its ok. ;P
@@Sorra1-Mods warlock has a ton of draw already and self damage that it doesnt matter that mass production spends hp instead of dealing damage, you still have geode and kobold, and demon seed isnt playing treant, and you can just change the wording on imprisoned horror to health lost on your turns
If I'm not mistaken the warrior was an otk warrior where you try to get a huge amount of armor thanks to armorsmith + Razorfen and then play Bladed Guantlet into Bloodsail Raider with charge. Or mechathun.
0 mana minions with trybe + Roaring applaus is just nice card draw in this.
Or you know... just play a normal Odyn deck, play Odyn, and then you get infinite armor and kill your opponent...
Demon seed was nerfed directly twice, it was released with you needed 6-7-8 dmg for the steps . To 8 for each, then to 10 when it rotated to wild.
I think the real card ban should be The demon Seed. From Hearthstone, completely.
Demon seed reward should be like the first damage you take each turn

@@Bob_Bobinson I would like it to be more strategy and control based than an hp race I feel that way is still kinda bad due to all the cheap healing they run. 1 free per turn then warlock only takes damage
@@OO-rt9yf One free per turn would unfortunately just be impactful enough.
Damaging both players means that the warlock now needs to make sure that he has enough health to be able to kill ya.
Also this would allow control decks to try and out heal the warlock.
Tho a questline deck will never really be control because if you're not rushing the questline down you're playing the deck inefficiently.
@@Bob_Bobinson if you think that quest warlock should be both hero's when warlock has inifnite cards that gives their hero immune during their turn won't solve the problem, it should be first damage your hero takes only

and if you're not taking damage your opponent won't too
those immune cards won't do much
I think one of the "reason" to why the demon seed hasn't changed yet might be Tamsin entry line. I can see the devs being held back on reworking the card cause it would literally cost them money to record a new voiceline but there's precedent for that happening too with patches losing charge so idk. Tho there's a re-work of the card that might align with what Tamsin says: Instead of preventing you from taking damage by dealing it to your opponent it just makes you both take the damage, this will make the reward less power as you'd still need to heal more then what you deal to your opponent so you don't die trying to destroy their hero. This way the quest wouldn't be outright unplayable but much more difficult to pull off since your opponent could force you to spend all your healing spells before you can start dealing them damage making them destroy thir hero faster them they can destroy yours.
I found that after diamond 2 the decks you find are Questlock, Garrote/Miracle rogue, aggro priest and Huhuran. Hence I switched from Darkglare to Even Paladin which has good matchups against those if u menage to get the counter cards such as the nerubian/2 mana spell against combo decks and the aoe against aggros. I menaged to go 7-1 and reach legend pretty easily from then

Battlecry: For the rest of the game, damage you take or your turn ALSO damages your opponent.
This way, to cause a lot of damage to your opponent you will have to run more heal in the deck and reduce the pressure at the beginning of the game and it would also make fatigue damage combos more hard to do.
I would also change the firt and second rewards to deal 3 damage, no lifesteal
I sure am glad I have found other CCGs that I enjoy to play

sad part is they gave bomb warrior so much support but bomb warrior auto loses to pain warlock everytime as does plague DK
you should try it without Seed, i had multiple 8/8 on 3. its not about seed, a bunch of one mana cards just go perfect with Glare and translate into super early 8/8s
giants are another problem, i dont understand why they brought giants backs to standard, mountain giant needs to go, handlock needs to die
wrong, its basically miracle rogue with a win condition late game that you can't deal with unless you kill them after you clear their board in 2 turns, that's why seed has no interaction against it from how its designed poorly
If you want to counter this deck, play quest otk mage. 100% wr against this

I just concede turn 1 whenever I run into this deck
They could put crystallizer down to 3 or 4 damage, maybe increase the units from 10-10-10 on the quest to 11 or 12 but the deck already can almost win without the quest reward consistently, is near unstoppable once you get the reward online, and the new Mass Production should be banned in wild just like those two or three standard priest cards are that draw way too many cards.
They should just ban the card outright period. It's as problematic as the fucking Black Lotus, and has reached new levels of infamy.
So glad I switched to burgle Miracle Rogue. Deck murders this one hard until they start teching with glacial shard.
The only thing I could see remotely countering this deck is that tradeable card that makes enemy spells cost 2 more next turn but even then….

It's to the point where I just concede if I see it in diamond. It's super gross.
I've given up. You can't have any hope to beat it with any other deck. Not even the most aggro aggro "Fuck your face" deck stands a chance.
I think they should nerf the reward to not mitigate the fatigue damage anymore
Put the new infernal in it and you have two good life savers in it. 90% winrate.

I easily countered that deck with my Rogue's Kingsbane deck

They need to change all the wild decks that dont even interact with the opponent. Nothing to play around.

It was a careless design all along. Win condition should be one time payoff, you play your win condition you either win or you lose.
This card turn your whole deck which you built for to conplete the quest, which is a fair deck, damage yourself for good trade, into a deck that damage your opponent and good trade, surely it will out of control.
You dont need to dmg yourself, Crystallizer turn health to armor, and somehow it count as self dmg...
Nerf demon seed, or fix crystallizer to not work ss self dmg. Raise dead 0 mana is so op, pretty much in every priest and warlock deck, easily top 10 card of all time

Revert the demon seed, but nerf it to "deal damage 6 times, 7 times, 8 times to your hero".
You either put shitty 1 damage minions and then you don't have a good late game, or it takes you extra 6-7 turns at least to turn active.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is literally the easiest fix just change the wording on Tamsin from instead to as well. I mean her voice lines even says "stormwind will share in my pain" not much sharing going on here.
A Demon Seed change I think could be good is to change its text to not prevent damage you take, or overhaul its effect to make it so your first card played each turn costs health instead of mana. I think born changes could preserve the flavor of the reward, while toning down its power level as well.

I still think crystalizer and darkglare are the issues maybe we make dark glare a Battlecry reduce the cost of cards in your hand that cost health by 2 health or if we want to nerf the the quest specifically make it so each questline has to be completed in one turn like the demon hunter one

Demon Seed is not the problem. Darkglare is the problem - remove him from the game and this deck loses a lot of winrate
