I'm still recovering from this scene. This isn't how it suppose to end
I think it's 'you're the best thing' not 'you're the worst thing'. At least what I heard and what the caption wrote.
The other option is Adrien dead..be thankful it ended this way.

Implementing that loving deran is a painful thing and adrien feels as if he wouldn't love deran, maybe his life would be in a different place.
I’m so conflicted because this was devastating, but at least Adrian is alive.

Here’s what I don’t get.. Craig and Pope both know, Smurf’s dead, J might be a problem besides Livingood and Pierce... Why did Deran keep saying “ You won’t be safe...And I don’t want to find out you cracked your skull open and my brothers might be behind it.”
@@bos2phxflyer363 he meant Adrian will never be safe in prison. The cops will torture him for information. Even if he does not want to, he might say something under torture. So, his brothers will kill him to stop that from happening.
I agree, the writer better fix this, because they belong together!

It's essentially a break-up scene. Deran is choosing his family over him and probably feels miserable because of it. Adrian feels betrayed. They're both hurt, it's not a friendly goodbye. I don't think anyone would kiss or hug in that moment.

I feel like this season the powers that be were a lot less comfortable with showing physical intimacy between these two (I don't watch the show only their storyline so not sure if it was an over-all change or just for them). So even though I could see a very angsty kiss happening (and would love that! I live for angst), I think it was mainly do to generally not being comfortable with it (and gives me much less hope Adrian would be back)

I cried, this broke my heart! This can not be how they end, I really thought he was going to go with him! They need to get back together in season 5 because they belong together and deserve a happy ending!
When I first saw this goodbie, it almost tore my heart out...Some people think, that Deran simply stuck by his family - but the whole season he did everything ONLY to protect Adrian. I believe that is the real reason he decided to stay - to protect Adrian once again. If he had gone with him, they would have been wanted - for both drug trufficking and murder. But just drugs aren't such a big deal, and Adrian alreadh helped the cops in this regard. Deran let his heart go and break so as to allow the man he loves to start over. But all through 4 seasons they always eventually got back together. If Deran makes sure the cops won't touch Adrian /there are ways to do that/ and gets assuarances from his family /and Pope just gave him that; I am sure J would too, he still is no Smurf, love he can understand/, then Adrian would be back and the boys would get their HEA. I mean I see happy gay couples in real life all over the place, then realistic show does not demand a separating of such a couple to stay true to reality.
I believe wholeheartedly in Deran and Adrian being together in the end, which only will be a begining for them. They love each other, they deserve it /they have proven it over the course of the whole show/. They are made for each other, that means there is a way for them to be together. This is temporary goodbye, not forever.
Mister Wells, you know it as well as I do! Prove me right. For that I could wait 9 months, no problem.

The sad part is that we knew how every person who got romantically involved with the Cody boys ended: Killed or abandoned. Cath, Nicky and now Adrian... Even if they remained loyal to the family they never got the best from them. So this was predictable. Deran may "love" Adrian but it's not the conventional love because he's not a conventional person. I hope Adrian doesn't come back because one day he's gonna find a healthier relationship, with someone who's not a criminal and is not broken. And I hope Deran doesn't get a new boyfriend, not because of Adrian, but because these things are not for people like him and his brothers.
Like with Craig and Renn, I think Deran should find someone who knows and lives his dangerous life.

Adrien is lucky that Smurf died. Smurf would have found him anywhere in the world and would have had him murdered. Deran is a Cody to the core, loyalty to the family before anything else. Can't wait for season 5. I hope we get to atleast season 7 but I doubt it. Top 5 show of all time.

How very disappointing was this. I was rooting for them hardcore. They need to reconnect them at some point they had alot of potential. Let them go through ups and downs like a real couple that's what fans want to see.I don't understand why show do that. You have a couple with a huge following and then they ruin them WTH.

Romantic and Drama are not the priority on Animal Kingdom, I don't think that Adrian will be back anytime soon, plus, it can not be fixed. I can not wait for S5, how the writers make Deran move on from his love life with Adrian. I like Deran and Adrian story and I think that this is one of the things that make Animal Kingdom more popular.

@@noahmendes9708 When did Deran put him first? Adrian's always been (too) forgiving and loyal and willing to face the consequences for his actions, and we spent meaningless time leading to this finale on Deran saying goodbye to his old life only for him to choose it over Adrian.
It would be perfect, wouldn't it, to have Adrian come back with some real fire to him again finally after the betrayal and what he's been through, with his own plan to save himself from his legal trouble that doesn't involve selling out the Codys, and for him to happen to get sexually/romantically entangled with a new rival of the Codys so it's even more dramatic for Deran. It almost writes itself.
Because Adrian more than deserves the chance at some development and to show he isn't stupid and weak like so many see him as, he has a sister and a niece and his own life and happiness and self-respect he should be allowed to care about now more than Deran.
And Deran deserves to have to respect all of that! To show he knows he doesn't deserve him and wants Adrian free and happy above anything else, even if it's not with him. After he broke Adrian's face and ribs, and after Dave and Linc and now finally with Deran choosing his family over Adrian too, it's the only way for Deran to ever earn him again, to make it a relationship worth caring about where one side isn't just a doormat for the other's story because only the main character is important.

Since when tv show’s writer start thinking that make a bad ending of everyone favorite couple in the show is such a good idea cause im about to stop watching until Adrian came back from now on.

If any of them have a chance to make it out and get away from the madness, for a better life, I always believed it would be Deran. Craig is a ticking timebomb who will self-destruct and take down anyone near him when he finally snaps. J is more like Smurf than ant of them. He won't walk away. It ends with him dead or in jail. I can't see Pope getting a 'happy' ending. I think he dies protecting his family.
Over-frustrating and disappointing storyline, and not just this season, - in general, but great acting and chemistry from these 2 as always.

When I see this scene from episode 13, it is very touching ( for Animal Kingdom). I think what changed Derans mind was what Pope said to him when he realized Deran might leave. Pope said I will miss you! I think this season , has changed everything! I cant wait for Season 5 in 2020. What do you think?
Im.proud of Animal Kingdom, alot of touching moments, you see the brothers Express the love for each other verbally, which has never been done before..but You better believe Jay's emotions for them are bottled up in a coffin with Smurf,hes going to do what's in his best interest, but also play the Cody role
We deserve a spin off where he finds Adrian, renn, and nick. He's never going to get the money back from J because it's all his now legally and he wouldn't have a bunch of cash lying around he would have his money invested and working for him
Adrian deserves sooooo much better than deran. Glad he's away from him and hope he finds happiness with a normal human being.

Deran will always be a Cody,they all need each other,they're all they got in their world, is their family, but in order to have a long and solid relationship with someone, a woman has to accept and understand that Cody lifestyle, that's the only way a relationship will last amongst all of them,but womenn that agree to that kind of lifestyle, 9 times out of 10 aren't good people either,it just takes that special one

Great show, great characters. This show features maybe the best portrayal of gay men in TV history. They're real, masculine guys who just happen to like men. TV needs more like them because there is certainly plenty of us out there.

So disappointing and out of character for deran he wanted to be free yet chose family over Adrian. Deran is a stereotype the tragic homosexual. This is homophobia.
they need him as main for s5, that's why he's staying, but I agree, with this move they just threw his character development in the bin. it still doesn't make it homophobia just because they broke up. No other relationship on the show was better or purer than theirs. We shouldn't be throwing that word around like that when it has a real meaning in real cases.
@Kate B. exactly. The trope entails the characters are exposed to homophobia and die sooner or later. I'm guessing you are talking about the bury your gays trope? which has several subtropes [gay guy dies first, gayangst-induced suicide, homophibic hatecrime, out of the closet into the fire, HIV-related death], none of which happened on this show. Dying or breaking up is not the same thing and if you bring up the abuse issue, wouldn't you want that victim to walk away from it? you're using the trope excuse, when none of these characters experienced homophobia on the show, neither did they die. You can't throw around that trope everytime a character is sad or going through a hard time.
