@@mod1gliani its not magic. Its MarioKart Basically if catch up is on you have to drive defensively in 1st as you wont have top speed. So you literally have to smash people to hold first. Otherwise it will just be Draft swapping for 1st the whole race if nobody crashes. This guys tips are laughable. Couple of good ones but legit most of them are pointless if catch up is on
Step One: Be AFK and/or pay no attention to prompts during the lobby screens, delaying / frustrating your fellow racers so they're more likely to make mistakes when the race begins. Step Two: Still be AFK or don't get the boost-start when the race begins, so the driver behind you crashes into your vehicle and/or has to take evasive action. Step Three: If you haven't gotten into first place by the second corner, driving backwards or blocking the track is a valid tactic. Don't forget to spam chat whilst you wait. Step Seven: Get kicked by the host, so you can return to freeroam and continue to pad your K/D ratio using a Broomstick or god-mode vehicle. /s

My favorite is being in a race with one or more players who know how to drive, have racing etiquette and are a challenge for me. In the end I don't care if they beat me if they're the better racer. But it does feel good to beat a really good racer.

The problem with me racing is I don't learn these things. GTA Online has to be the first game I played that has a fully fleshed out racing mechanic. I never knew any of these tips so when I get invited to a race, I'm usually causing more harm then good and more harm then I'm realizing I'm causing.
Firstly I was like why are you explaining basic rules of fair racing and then I read the comment and remember a lot of players are really young and don’t even know how to enjoy a race. Personally my favourite race isn’t always the one I win I don’t care about rankings but fun like having duel and see who’s gonna make a mistake first. I really hope that video gonna improve the general behaviour on gta race I mean it’s not like there’s no others way to rampage some drivers
My protip for public lobby racing with absolute [colourfull wording]: 1.: Fall back before the first turn unless you're in the front anyways. 2.: Try to stay away from people you've seen take others out. Lift off the gas on a straight, let them fail the next corner and continue with a bigger gap to them. 3.: Change your braking style when being followed by people who divebomb. Cars in GTA have incredible grip and you can use it to go at high speed through a turn and brake really late. While that is slower than braking before the turn it will remove any chance for people behind you to divebomb you. You just need to get far enough around the corner to have the apex cover your ass from any approaching Owens.
The number 1 thing my friend and I see online: people unwilling to use their brakes in a turn. It may seem counterintuitive at first to slow down at all during a race instead of going top speed the whole time. However, you will lose more time and position recovering from wrecks than you will using your brakes into a turn.
if you're slipstreaming someone, BRAKE EARLIER than them, try to anticipate their braking lines the faster you go the longer your braking points become, it's just natural
If someone Unstable on your behind just jump to inside or outside. Also the racer infront of you is crashy crashy just be crashy crashy. If it is not doing something you can feel the respect in the air.

Don’t be the prick to ram someone else off the road in a 20 player race whilst your in 14th place just to get the leg up in front of 3 cars and come in 11th place on the final lap. Seriously though, ramming people is just unnecessary and annoying. People take it to high extremes to win a virtual race w no real world prize money. For those that have rammed me, I returned the favor to them and so do the other 30% of the lobby. Karma will come for you.

I mean rockstar can rere re re re, "Slap!" sorry I'm turning into max headroom here! re re release the game as many times as they want, but that doesnt mean ANYONE is going to be playing it in the future, as the games old, tired, worn out and badly broken, and its graphics thanks to the release of RDR II now seem extremely outdated ontop of that. like until rockstar drastically overhauls everything in this game for the next, re re release, in the words of the cops from one of the old NFS games, need for speed hot pursuit 2, Dis boy's done.

Step 1: Don't have the luck of Gtamen
I cut my racing teeth on Gran Turismo, learning racing lines etc there really does help you in GTA.
