Today was the day that our Deaf baby boy got his first pair of hearing aids. We are so excited to find out what our son who was born with severe to profound hearing loss could now hear. We will still be practicing ASL (sign language) with baby Neo.

Sweet he's adorable I'm glad it's hearing aids I hope they help him and you're doing great as parents I have a good positive feeling he will be just fine I have a son with a hearing loss couldn't find out until he was 5 years old he seem to be fine he talked to her early age she said words at 6 months old believe it or not like dad ball up you know he would say singular words for 6 months and all of a sudden I noticed he wasn't talking much I was talking to the doctors and then he had a hearing test at 5 years old and said he had a high frequency hearing loss

I'm so happy for you guys! I love the colors on the hearing aids! And you guys know you can get stickers thru etsy? It's cool and fun to have for little kids. Just type in stickers for hearing aids/cochlear implants. I'm sure there's superman out there but those colors are perfect. I remember I had blue/white molds and plain old tan hearing aids. Back in the day they didn't have color ones. Now they do with hearing aids and cochlear implants. I am now a cochlear user and going for surgery soon next week on June 9th (going bilateral) I'm excited. Love my implant cant wait to see how the right ear turns out! Hoping I can hear after 28 years of being deaf in that ear 🤞🤞🤞

when neo isn't using his hearing aids open the battery container just a notch as this will save the battery life....i always left them on over night for my mom (who is pre dementia) until i discovered this trick.....it will save you time from constantly putting in new batteries....just found your channel....such a wonderful little chamily!....prayers to ya'll.

Continue to teach him ASL regardless if the hearing aids work or not.
I’m thinking the same thing. I’ve heard that while cochlear implants can provide hearing, the hearing still isn’t as good as that of hearing people. And if his implants don’t work for whatever reason (like if the battery is maybe empty, or they broke), they’ll still be able to communicate and it will help Neo connect with the deaf community!
As a teacher. I agree. This would be helpful for the entire family to learn!!!🌹🌹🌹 Blessings to the family.

My daughter has been implanted one year now shes not talking yet. Its a LOT of work. Best to use ASL right away anyways. And push for early implantation. Even at 6 months some places will do it. Find the clinic that does!!!
Cochlear Implant (CI) is not cure or work for most Deaf. Scammer Cochlear Implant Surgery have no experience Sign Language but make money profit but most Deaf failed CI.
Hard of Hearing, are rarely, can speak and hear with CI

One of my twin girl is born with a sensorineural hearing defect and we havnt got the hearing aids yet and she is already 4 months old. Your family is an inspiration to how to keep it together and be positive amidst life’s ups and downs👍
Take times, I had my hearing aids at 6 weeks old and I got my cochlear implant at 14 years old, I’m 15 now, the reason why I got a cochlear implant because I was born severe hearing loss, my hearing got worse so i decided to get one and I love it! I use BSL which is British sign language and I can speak. Love your vlogs:)
