I want to share few information about big b. 1.Big B is living legend in India ruling heart of 3 generation. 2.Big B during his struggle days got rejected from All India Radio due to his heavy voice but now every Indian loves his voice. 3.Big B gave in a row continuous 13 flop movie and his first hit movie was 'Zanzeer' and from this movie he got image of angry Indian man. 4.Big B got injury in 1980 during shooting of the movie 'Coolie' and during treatment at the end doctor declare him as dead but his wife jaya bachchan notice motion in his finger so again doctor started his treatment so big b always saying I got rebirth in 1980 so I m 38 year old now 5.Big B got loss in his company approx 200 crore(1crore= 10million). His friend suggested him to declare himself bankrupt so he'll get kind of waveoff but he refused and started hard work and later he payed every ones single penny. 6.He is the most expensive host/anchor of India for a one perticualr TV show in India he was charging 25 million rupees per show. Yes the legendary "Mere Paas maa hai " (But I got mom) dialogue is a indian philosophical metaphor for lot people in India that restores dignity to poverty and honesty. All that money and wealth cannot buy you love and respect. There is dignity in poverty and simplicity and don't be envious of wealthy especially who obtain it thru crooked means..
Big B's brother (Shashi Kapoor) becomes an officer in the police department. He finds out that his brother has become a gangster and is involved in the smuggling business. He confronts him in front of their mother. He asks him to surrender, declare all his black money and pledge full cooperation with the police in tracking down his associates by signing a paper. And, Big B denies.
brief story of the film : Mom and kids grew up in a very difficult situation. Mom doing odd jobs, as a labourer etc. etc. and even Amitabh would assist her in his own way but took the wrong route as he wanted to come out from that filthy society. Mixed up with the underworld. He assisted Sashi Kapoor in his education and he became a police officer and AB became a smuggler. Now in this scene Sashi Kapoor, AB's bro, finds out that he is one of the most wanted criminal in the city. so he asks AB to sign a doc that he admits his offence and will cooperate with the police to unearth other criminals. That's when AB starts his dialogue - to first get the sign from the person who cheated their father, insulted their mother and from the person who wrote on his hand that 'his father is a thief'.

Simultaneously, right about the same time when he was bashing baddies, he also played few sensitive roles which were diagrammatically opposite to his image in films like "Abhimaan", "Anand" and "Mili". His range of acting was quiet evident in both forms of roles. I would urge you to seek out these movie too. This was before he became a star but one could see the makings of one, with his baritone voice and intensity. Abhimaan (pride) was perhaps his best performance, where he played a husband who was jealous of his wife"s success and in the process wrecking their lives.
