Great showcase WG. Personally a fan of Nova over CL, even midgame with Crescent Moon, but its almost the exact same build gear wise. Equipping CM really limits the FCR so playing for FCR rings, a FCR ammy, and a crafted FCR belt is the real battle. I think Season 1 I was stuck all season long with a 34 FCR spirit as I just couldn't seem to roll better. Though running her now with a self-equip infinity more than makes up for the up-hill battle. If I were rolling another sorc for next season it would 100% be a Light sorc, they are way more fun than Cold, and way more effective than fire.
LOL, that might seem budget... 🤣😂🤣 Most people aren't going to get a spiderweb mesh, shako, have an anni, or even an SoJ! You can run this with a low FCR if you have crecent moon and the sunder charm, no problem. Countering all of the negative lightning resist and having enough +skill to make -65% damage work against lightning immunes without being too tedious is the hard part.
It's not too bad. A Shako will pop if you play hell and/or hell terrorized zones enough (every time you see a white or rare shako drop you know the game tried to give you one). In the meantime I just run with a Peasant Crown (cheap man's Shako), a Lore, Tarnhelm, or a simple helm with 2/3 perfect sapphires. As the author suggests you don't need the arachnid mesh to make up FCR. You can make up FCR on other items. Magefist should be just as easy to find as trangs. SOJ is totally optional and possibly better to have an FCR/res ring anyway. If all else fails just go dual Spirit until better items pop. TBH, lighting on it's own packs a big enough punch to be viable with just a Sunder charm and no other drops in resistance. Your merc ought to be able to do the work or you can use a Lower Resist wand. Even without a sunder charm this is still a pretty good build if you're selective about the areas to play and you manage contact with the lightning resists. Certainly good for key hunting, especially for taking Nithilak down at range. With Keys and incidental drops you'd be able to trade up. Annis are little more difficult for a sorc, but not that hard. Just create a frenzy barbarian and take them through to hell. Use Death's Guard Glove/Belt Combo, dual swords - Malice, Strength, Steel are all budget - with Goblin Toe or Gore Riders if you can get them. Gface and Duress would be helpful, but try to get at least one source of crushing blow. Alternatively go mace and make Black in flails. Plus a life tap wand which you can shop for. Then play your sorc as you would normally in named/passworded game created via the lobby. When DClone shows up locate him. If I don't trip him by accident I usually locate him in Cold Plains. Use the sorc to clear out any monsters. Leave that game and come back with your barb and use the barb to take down DClone. You play hell games long enough and you'll have a steady stream of Annis. You can use the same barb to try and take down Uber Tristram for Torches, but that is harder and probably you'll need better items. Lawbringer for example. But still possible. The alternative to the barb would be a Smiter which could be easier for DClone and Uber Tristram in some ways, but without inherent access to Battle Orders. Anyway hope this helps.
