Following up on some information after speaking with Nate of B&B Blending. Jade Sapphire is safe on matte vinyl and matte PPF. It will add a sheen to the matte surface. If the vehicle only has small areas of matte vinyl or matte PPF then it is recommended to use the same coating being used for paint such as Jade Obsidian or Jade Emerald due to the slight differences in appearance and hydrophobic behavior. From my experience using Sapphire, the applicator did not harden meaning it will be more flexible. Another great video Mike. I guess Sapphire is considered "flexible". Term of the industry I suppose. Can't wait for the product breakdown. Percentage of solids of each one.
Thanks. The only other dedicated PPF and vinyl coating I used was Cquartz Skin. It did a good job as well. A regular paint coating will also still work on either surface.
@@MikeGDetailing I find it interesting because their coating, on paper, should be one of the best. I don’t mean marketing paper but the SDS where you can see the inorganic polysilazane. The glass coating holds up to acids for me (Purifica 2x) but it’s a totally different chemistry. I’m an EE like yourself but my father is a chemist and suspected they would be very good if using the Durazane resins from Merck with the same CAS number as their SDS. I keep using the Diamond Glass because even though it has crap sliding angle, it is super durable and self cleaning. Maybe they failed in the solvent formulation going for ease of use.

Thanks Wes.
Good stuff as always! I’ll be interested to see how this wears over time in comparison to the paint-specific coatings.
Thanks.
Great video and I have seen many using Jade. Would love to test....
Thank you.
❤❤❤ awesome so now I know what to use for vinyl and Matt services do you know of any other brands as well maybe the ones that made last longer?

@@MikeGDetailing then why use a dedicated ppf or vinyl coating ?
@@nachomandetailingservices1057 they are designed to be flexible.
@@MikeGDetailing thank you Mike I never knew that!! 🙌🏻 you rock!!
Koch Chemie Rs killed Jamie’s DB36 so maybe their resin has less acid resistance than some? Hard to say.
I did see that. The diamond protech coatings were overhyped. Over promised and didn't deliver.
