Spending money is NOT a dopamine hit for me at all. It feels like a punch in the gut to spend any money, because it WAS my money, and now it's not. I rarely ever buy something for myself as a treat. I still live with my parents, and finding a half-decent job is a tall order these days, so I'm trying my best with building my online business, working for myself on creative projects in the meantime. Damn... and everyone just wants your money. Everything under the sun requires a monthly subscription (software, services, erc.). It's annoying as hell.
youtube has been recommending me alotta vids like this where its mw2 with some good ass commentary like this. taking me back to my younger years. subbing to support that push to 3k
Whether you have limited income or not, going to Aldi is great advice. Great selection of different goods and perfect for getting tons of ingredients with a small budget, especially if you wanna meal prep. Helps that they don't have a lot of big brand products which incentivizes the product to be cheaper. Then you have stuff like Mama Cozzi's giant pizzas which IMO are better than any pizza chain, and cost like half the price for a big pizza. I also recommend Lidl for their bakeries; great breakfast goods and wonderful breads that are very cheap.
Seeing my siblings struggle with finances as they all had children pretty early in life made me take on the grindset of saving as much as possible with a mixture of regular savings & stocks, especially being at home still with no major finance commitments other than rent & extra support for the household through each month. I also got my big cost items out the way fairly early on such as my bicycle being my primary mode of travel & my PC being good enough to last me a good number of years yet before needing to consider any kind of upgrades, which allows me to save more now while still having entertainment & not worrying about travel costs for work.
Some ways to save lots of money which has worked for me: Brew your own coffee; it takes less than two minutes. Take a sandwich and juice box for lunch. Make a budget and stick too it. It will be difficult at first, but nothing worth doing ever is easy. No pun intended. Work in cash. I know it’s easy to use a card but it’s more meaningful to your mind to see the money leave your wallet and know now much you have left.
Found this channel randomly. Seeing MW2 in the thumbnail made me press instantly. It feels like the good old times watching OG MW2 videos on youtube with honest commentary. Whenever I watch your videos, it feels like listening to a long lost friend which I used to play MW2 with when we were kids. It really feels refreshing.
Eating healthy can be such a good way of saving money if you do it right. I literally only buy whole foods because I have a health condition but at least I manage to save a lot of money on groceries while doing so. You save money overtime and build your health. Win Win :D
I've found I'll hunker down for 6 months and then all my friends will be coming to me asking to borrow after they spend all their money. Don't buy into the hype, the bars and clubs just want your money, the corporations just want your money, we work too hard to give it away for nothing! Solid video, solid advise!
Brazilian here!!! Man, your videos are great, they are really helping at rethinking stuff, specially now that the year's ending and i'm felling bad at a lot of things in my life. Just please, keep going with the videos.
For you americans who are struggling with money, there's an excellent cooking channel called The Wolfe Pit that teaches how to cook on a super budget, the "recession" way. It is very much possible to eat well and stay (mostly) healthy, even in US. And do remember - there's nothing wrong with frugal living or being broke; you start to appreciate the little things in life more and it's a good way to detox from the modern consumption-driven society in general.
I'm 30 and currently about $6k in debt. I have a system to pay everything off and it's been working. I don't really go out that much, mainly staying home and playing video games. Used to buy video games alot but sold off 90% of my collection and made over $2k which went into both savings and the credit card bill and now I just play whatever I have and wait for sales if there's something that I want. I make my own food for the most part, may go out once a week or every other week and won't spend much there. I work for a school system so I have a pension building along with a 403b (401k for public workers to my knowledge). Honestly I don't even remember the last time I owned a car that had under 150k miles. My current car has almost 250k and runs very well, has 4x4 for when I need to go to work in the snow and is very spacious since its an SUV. I thought of buying a mattress for it since it has a lot of space in the back when the seats are down so I can sleep in it if I ever needed to. I'm chipping away at it and living at home really helps. I'm currently happy in the position that I'm in as well.
Great video dude. Have done each of these in my life, and they all paid off. Living below your means can give you the freedom to try new things, and skills to make more $.
The man is spot on. Now I'm no big shot, but he's absolutely right about hunkering down for a while and spending less while working overtime. When I first started, I did my own meal prep, refilled soda bottles with Faygo 2 liters and ate for $7/day while working overtime. I was able to save my first $10,000 after about a year and a half and it kickstarted my whole life. In the span of about 8 years I've paid off my car, bought a new construction house and have $94,000 in my brokerage account and $35,000 in my 401K. But it all came with a lot of sacrifice and consistency
Having a second bank account in a bank that was inconvenient to access helped me save money. I have a dollar jar I save all of my $1s in and when it’s full I put it all in that account. I also roll my quarters, dimes and nickels and put that all in the bank everything adds up! Great channel brother
I did 60 hour weeks for a year straight, penny pinched super hard the entire time, occasionally did blow a lot on stupid stuff (alcohol, etc) but overall it was so miserable, but I did all just so I could finally pay off my car fully + have a ton of savings, can’t recommend doing it unless you have to but it was so much better finally getting out of that situation afterwards ALDIs is a life saver, and you can eat pretty healthy there as well, much better way to go about it than dollar tree noodles, I get it though sometimes you’re just like man I don’t want to cook lol
I recently bought a moped/scooter and drive it to work every day. If you live within a couple miles of work I highly recommend it, has saved me so much money these past couple months
Good that youtube is recommending me some low subscriber count channels. This channel is a gem and feels like those old 2010s videos. Keep them coming buddy, your advice is helping me a lot.
Not entirely money related, but if there is one thing everyone needs while saving - is FOOD. For starters, a great tip my mom gave with one of her childhood stories: As long you have, EGGS, RICE, OIL, FLOUR and BUTTER, you can make just about anything to keep yerself fed. A sack of green lentils is also very good to have. Two cups amount to a giant pot that is able to last you 3 days tops and fills up your belly very nicely.
I recently began saving really incredibly small increments of my paychecks, say $50 to $75. I found that to be way more manageable than doing $2-300 like I did in the past and continued to always compromise it when the bills it. I know I can put that away and have the discipline not to worry about say $40 as opposed to $250 which my checking felt. It’s a slow process but idk it worked for me. Now that it began to really add up I’m not as worried if my car has a part it needs or some unexpected purchase.
Butchering a whole chicken is easy with a sharp knife and you can dry age(light coating of salt on a wire rack) those parts up to 2 weeks , granted you have the fridge space. After opening the chicken pat dry with napkins or paper towels. It’s easy with just watch a tutorial and the $12 for a whole chicken can provide multiple meals and chicken stock (bit of fresh ginger and other spices)for a week . I would be cautious of the mercury from seafood.
Hey man, been watching since your “time is running out” video, you inspired me to make my own classic COD commentaries, but this is probably my favorite video of yours so far. I too, am cheap af and had to eat cans of boiled chicken to get myself out of poverty during my college years 😂 I still buy the $5 Costco chicken to meal prep even though I can afford to eat out. Keep up the videos man!
While I agree with the message you shouldn’t cheap out on your health. That’s one thing you’ll pay a ton for in the future. I can eat under $20 a day eating 1 lb of grass fed 93% ground from Aldi for $7. $2.34 for 6 pasture raised eggs. $1.50 for a Greek yogurt. Kombucha $2. Random fruits/veggies/snacks $7. You can easily hit 170g of protein with this budget too if you workout and care about building muscle.
My biggest addiction, and its a very expensive one, is lego. Lego drains me so much that i basically save for 2 or 3 months jjst to drain all that i have almost. Also thai food, i get it much too often but the winter helps since i prefer to go out and get it and it keeps me inside. Im in the process of selling rhe legos i bought on impulse and trying to gain some of that money back
Discovered your channel like a week or two ago, I love it. Really awesome video man, super helpful, and good advice. Congrats on the subscriber milestone!!!
10$ a day is wild asf 😅 I mean I get it if that works for you then that’s great but everyone should look at their finances and go from there, if you live alone well it’s a whole other situation then livin with your parents which is not a bad thing it’s actually a good thing because at that point you could save a lot of money if they do t charge you rent there’s no reason on being broke tbh 😅
Another way to save a lot of money is by cutting your own hair. Since I maintain and cut my own hair I only go to the barbershop like once or twice a year
Found your channel recently and just wanted to say that I appreciate your videos man. Are people still playing MW2 or is this bots? What platform are you on? Sorry if this has been answered previously.
It's mainly bots. I use IW4X but sometimes there's a small group of people playing. It definitely needs a remaster or something but Activision knows it'll kill the new CODs
Nope there's a dollar tree recipe book. But eat Mac n cheese, Alfredo noodles with tuna, Tuna sandwiches, Hotdogs. PB&J Sandwiches, pasta. There's alot you can make from dollar tree for dirt cheap that's not gonna poison you 😂
$10 a day is $300 a month. If you're talking just food, you should absolutely be able to survive on $300 a month for groceries, i've been living on $250 a month for the last few years

Oh yeah Imma start taking out cash and leaving the rest of the money in my checkings/savings so it can accumulate
