  • This is probably the coolest piece of gear I have used in a long time. It makes my life a lot easier not having to worry about cable runs. Oh yeah, and it's basically uncompressed video!!!

    Sounds really neat. I might need to check this out. I was thinking about picking up one of the black magic models, but this one might be better for streaming services for a couple churches that I help out with.

      Does black magic make wireless video stuff?

      @@MillerTechnicalServices They used to make some products a few years back, but stopped making them. Sometimes you can find them on ebay which is a lot cheaper than the Teradeck, but the Teradeck seems better since its new and is 4k ready.

    I have no use for this, but I still want it.

    I did a graduation at a high school stadium using two of these units and they broke up several times during the ceremony. We had direct line of sight but the interference must of been too much for the units to handle.

      How many people were there? I’ve never had any issues once they get linked up properly.

      @@MillerTechnicalServices About 500. We have never had issues with them until that day.

      I have one of these and I’ve never felt good about it. It has never been rock solid for me. The older 500 model is a work horse, this one I am likely going to sell. Too many disconnects for me and reboots required for it to work well.

      @@faithhouse6111 True! Cameras with SDI are more expensive if the budget permits, go Teradek Bolt.

    Why you need a 4k resolution for a 17" monitor?

    • @MillerTechnicalServices
      @MillerTechnicalServices  3 роки тому

      Assuming you’re referring to the streaming setup I use for events…. Because I’m not just watching it on the monitor. I’m recording it, streaming it, and pushing it to zoom. Hence the soundboard, and computer, and everything else I had setup.

      @@MillerTechnicalServices But, in cam you record in 4k RAW... why you need a wireless link in 4K? For reasons like TV lives in 4K (in spain maximun 1080)... but for cinema i dont know what is the real funtion.

    • @MillerTechnicalServices
      @MillerTechnicalServices  3 роки тому

      This is more for live use rather than film production. If film, you usually only have 1080p monitors for the director and whoever else. But for live use, you’re generally recording not on the camera itself and streaming/recording at 4K or 1080p. I do most of my live recordings at 4K so it has its place but I get what you’re saying.
