Every shot of B was beautiful. Beyond power, he had a beautiful style, starting from that incredible serve, which BB just invented from the nowhere. Forehand was with a huge opening movement and plastic, such a beautiful movement. Greetings from Rome Italy

Really like your content and especially the stroke analysis of former top players. I would really like to see an analysis of the Edberg backhand.

Can you please break down his serve?? It was unconventional yet devastating

His serve was quite conventional in most ways. His grip was a tiny bit more open, and he rotated a tiny bit more than most, but the overall motion was classic and technically not particularly unique. What was unique was his combination of power and consistency. He was able to do the correct movement - ball toss, coil, uncoil - very consistently. There's no technical secret to that, it's "just" good concentration, focus, and confidence.
He made a funny little bobbing move to focus himself before serving, whereas most players like to bounce the ball, but that isn't really part of the serve technique itself. It worked, since it primed him for a very consistent delivery!

@@MrTresto Also Becker landed on the right foot. That is very rare don't you think? Plus amazing knee bends for both legs.

It would still work today as it worked on the faster courts of the 90s.

Every part of his game would work wonderfully today.

Thank you so much for your analysis of tennis and your wonderful videos. I would like to watch video in very slow motion: could you give me an advice to get the proper software for PC and software (the ones you use, maybe ?) Thanks

Becker played a heavy racquet. And tennis balls were a lot faster in those days.

There are plenty of pros today that don’t tap the dog. Really not necessary.
