Wow, this was 18 minutes of awesomeness. I just love the concept of a black gladiator. Its gonna be up there with Django and Yasuke. The setting, the Colosseum, the statue heads, the market scene, the palace...simply amazing. Very inspiring seeing this. Thumbs to everyone at Spoof Animation Studios that made this happen. Must be so cathartic seeing it all pieced together. Cant wait to see more of Ajaka

I found out about this a few months ago now and holy crap, this first installment definitely lives up to the hype!!
The animation is fluid, the voice acting is superb, and the characters are easy to engage with. I'm a little confused with Ajaka's godly ties, but I'm sure that will clear up in future episodes. You've done amazingly well with this project, @SpoofAnimation, I only hope you find a way to 1-up yourselves as time goes forward!

I liked the direction, animation and story. just some problems with the compositions and there is some inconsistency in the drawings and colors, I think it is a work done with limited resources and some animators with little experience I really hope that in the coming years, God willing, they will improve more and more!

This was a good first step for a start up indie company. I hope the quality improves a bit, but as a first step.this was awesome. Storywisr i dont know how I feel.about you turning an African king into a Roman slave, just doesnt feel right. I think the story would have been better focused on Oyo and the surrounding regions. Anyway i still look forward to the other episodes. Kerp up the good work infie xompanies like yours are the way forward for African centred stories to finally be told.

I am impressed by the flight scenes and the 2D animations. I would love to see more as this short tells a different story that is new and refreshing to watch.

This was AMAZING! Left me wanting more. Can't wait to see the rest of the series. 100% would watch more. (Just not with the kids, just a bit much gore)
In my opinion, it has done better than any other animation from Nigeria, but it needs better voice acting. I believe it would get better tho. I also think the world design of the oyo market place needs to br fixed a little and the entrance too. Ancient oyo town had walls and statues. I also think the swords that they wield should be the yoruba sword ida , or cutlass or agendengbe. And the axe should be like the one sango actually has. Overall I give this 7/10
This animation is really great! It has cool backgrounds, great fight scenes, and nice sound, and the voice actors are really good. It also has awesome special effects. I hope the Àjàká project gets the money to make more of the story. Good job, Spoof Animation!

I couldn't envision Yoruba mythology properly depicted in an entertaining way until now. I've played with ideas using SHONGO as the hero but I never finish. Congratulations! This was inspiring. Some criticism: The art is rough. The character models are inconsistent. And the animation is stiff. Shot compositions need a little work as well. But all that doesn't matter when the action kicks in. The action IS the story. HOLY SHIT! Great job! There's a term for that when talking about ANIME, it's called SAKUGA. There's also real emotion and good pacing to the actual story. The sum of it's parts overshadows it's flaws. I want to know more about AJAKA. Moreover, having AJAKA be a slave gladiator gives the story scope. We get to hang out in ROME and OYO. It also makes it more accessible to an international audience. And the pacing is great. Nothing overstays its welcome. I also love the SPARTACUS and GLADIATOR vibes. Especially in the credits. New sub.

by the way, the accents of the chiefs in Àjàká's courts are heavily stylised versions of Yorùbá speak. nobody Yorùbá speaks like that. in fact, it's a hold out from a memorable accent created by a character on Village Headmaster four decades ago. please, get actors that are willing to do the leg work with real accents of which the Ọ̀yọ́ have a distinct variant.
Sir, the voices need a lot of improvement. They don't sound convincing enough.
It's almost like the voice actors weren't serious. Shango and Ajaka were good though. Loved Dominos 🤴
