idk I got some pizza tower vibes watching this
it reminded me more of minecraft, it has that same freedom of exploration and choice, even the floors and walls are square in this game too.
It gets memed on hard, but the reverb really does add a shit ton of immersion to these liminal-looking games
It's both funny and really appreciated.
I don't know if there's anyone who actually doesn't like the reverb filter.

This is an accurate recreation of trying to navigate your way through Shinjuku Station.
Pretty sure this is roppongi which is by far the deepest station in tokyo. 5 fucking minutes of stairs just to get to the tracks…

That’s what they have to call the hopefully-to-be-made game a youtube-comment-member did suggest; like this game but with the New York subway; with a guy shitting in the corner, as Vinny aptly described.

Really sad that Vinny is still stuck inside that sinkhole, but thankfully the streaming set-up fell in with him so he's still getting some enrichment.

I've seen lots of vtubers play this game but Vinny is the first person I've seen adopt the strategy of "run through while slightly looking around and hope for the best"

I'm really enjoying these reverb-likes.
It seemed like a one-off gimmick the first time, but the more I hear Vinny use reverb for his voice the more I want. Kinda makes me wish game engines had an option to pipe mic input through the audio system and back out to OBS/Xsplit/etc. somehow so streamers' voices automatically sounded like whatever environment they were exploring.

@@TayoEXE I'm not 100% sure but I assume it's both something for blind people to feel with their canes and a visual path to find your way.
@seasaltlover To upfront, I actually didn't know the first time I visited, yes, you're right. It's primarily for blind individuals using a cane to be able to move about more friendly. They are often even in front of oncoming trains and even in front of street lights to help either guide or warn individuals not to go forward. Of course, they provide guidance for those who can see them as well since they're bright yellow. I see individuals using it now that I live here but I actually never saw anything like it back in my home country.
@@TayoEXE these things are everywhere in Germany, too. In fact, I found Japanese train stations looking quite similar (in general vibe) to German ones, from the images I have seen.

theyre just unreal engine asset drops, the devs dont even know how to turn off motion blur by default
No problem at all with setting it on by default. Just turn it off if you don't like it. By far the vast majority of people don't get migraines from it.
The only problem is not providing an option for it.

I enjoy the reverb so much for these liminal games. It really helps with immersion. Best thing ever, I'm glad Vinny listened to that one chatmember who suggested it during the pool rooms stream.
Really love these anomaly games, or "Blues Clues-likes" when you watch someone stream one.
Was at Shinjuku station last year and spent about 40 minutes trying to re-find the luggage locker we'd left our suitcases in, because we needed a specific elevator to go down to its location while all the other elevators in the vicinity only went down to subway platforms (which you had to use your Suica card to pass through).
So happy the dying Homer beer opener somehow made it's way to Vinny lol

This is oddly close to one of the hallways at Jimbocho station. Although I can't remember what exit number it led to. I just remember a long hallway with a left turn into a short hallway, which right turned into another long hallway.

This game really unnerved me for some reason, it's hard to put my finger one.
It gives me the same feeling as have been woken up from a nightmare, but than seeing something slightly off in the house and realizing I am still in the same nightmare.
I think part of it is the extremely high fidelity environment and effects
There's probably a term for the fear of being deceived, or something like that. This seems similar to games that use mimic-type enemies for the horror effect, the scenario is specifically engineered to keep you on edge and make you feel like there's a malevolent force constantly stalking you.

Wow, the "liminal" games have really stepped up their-redundancy not intended-game as of late! Really liked this arcade-style approach to this concept, and the encouraged replayability with finding all the anomalies. Being able to revisit the prior hallway to catch your mistakes was a very nice QoL feature, actually :)
Also wow, Melpertsaucebert unironically did pretty good during those speedruns--several times he was catching anomalies I had to pause to notice at all. True Vine Gaming moment.
