great sharing the tips...thank you
Glad it was helpful! Let me know what you buy! Hehe
This was very helpful and has gotten me really excited to shop there soon!! Thank you!
Exciting!!
Ahhh thank you for this! I made it to Japan at long last and this is quite helpful 🎉
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks!
No problem! and thank you!
Thought you were gonna leave Daiso off for a sec.... Can't do that lol! Went to that spot in Shibuya, definitely recommend.
Akky 2 in Akihabara is my go to place for souvenirs & Mandarake is great for finding unique bargains, I love visiting Diver City in Odaiba for the Giant Gundam outside and the store inside on the top floor also Carls Burgers on the ground floor has as far as we’re concerned the best fast food burgers in Tokyo. I always make a pilgrimage to the Tamiya shop in Minato City Shimbashi. Can’t wait to be back out there in January.
Thanks for the tips!
Hi Nathan! Love your channel. One store I like to shop in is Towe Records in Shibuya. No too many of them in the world. In addition, one can find music offered in other parts of the world.
Thanks for the info! I have actually browsed Tower records many times!
🛒keep up the great work
Thanks!!
Yeah, most of these are go to places. I usually stop by Loft (variety store, slightly upmarket from Tokyu Hands) and KiddyLand (four floors of toys). Nakano Broadway is great for new and vintage merchandise, like 70s Star Wars action figured, etc. Cool thing about Yodabashi and Bic Camera is that their selection is broader than cameras and gadgets. Can spend hours there and fill your 🛒…
YES! so many other stores!! not enough time to film lol... I always find KiddyLand a funny name
I really liked Teramachi Kyogoku in Kawaramachi, Kyoto. It's really historical and filled with many specialty shops. For my work shirts I go to Motoki Ginza in Tokyo.
Thanks for sharing your choices!
@@NinjaMonkeyguy Actually, in the greater Tokyo area, LaLaport TOKYO-BAY in Funabashi is extremely big. Otherwise I'll just shop Sogo and especially Mitsukoshi.
🛒If you like Gundam, then as mentioned in a previous video there is Gundam Factory Yokohama, Gundam Side-F plus Gundam Bases in Odaiba and Fukuoka. All of these locations have items exclusive to them.
Nice!
Nakano Broadway is on my list wanting to find more affordable pop culture merchandise if not in Akihabara. I'll look into Harajuku if I can find something interesting, but I also want to look around Shimokitazawa in the subject of fashion and shopping.
One of my first videos is from Nakano Broadway! ua-cam.com/video/vtIZ6_x_faE/v-deo.html .. there are so many great places to shop at as you point out
I'm not a big shopper when I go there , probably next time I will walk into these electronic stores and look or buy , my mind is so overwhelmed when I'm there , in a good way
ye hahaha I get you
If can, can you do a video on Okinawa?
I will in the future as it is a place I will visit soon
On my next trip i will intentionally pack only half of my clothing and go crazy in a Uniqlo store. Please don't tell the customs officer when i come back! 🤫🙏😂🛒
hahaha,,, thats more or less what i do at the start of a long trip to Japan!
Hi Nathan. Great to see you again. Best wishes. Joan Nagase
Hey, thanks!! Hope you are doing well too
Where would you recommend buying travel luggage? Would donki have the best price? Thank you! :)
Donki or Tokyu hands but Donki is prob going to be cheaper!
🛒
Recently Tokyu Hands has rebranded as "Hands" Tokyu has sold the store to Cainz, it is unclear, of the future🛒
ooh... seemed like it was going well in Aug when I visited.. hope it stays as good as always!
Do I need to show customs my tax free purchase? And could I put them in my check in luggage instead of my carry 10:13 on? Thanks!
In theory yea you could be asked to see the items in practice not sure if it’s for all items and it’s never happened to me
Do you know which shopping place is open on the 1st Jan?
increasingly larger stores open on the Jan 1st. smaller stores will likely remain closed.
I have never carried a passport in Japan (a no no). And never got the “tax free” thing. What is it? Not kidding. I just figured it was like 6% sales tax, like in Michigan. Also do I get some of that insane 15% tax the hotel charges me back.
TOKYU HANDS for the win. 🎉
Add Costck & Grocery stores (maybe I’m early. (Haven’t finished watching 😅)
hehee.. most big chains have a tax free counter available to foreign tourists only at licensed stores when making purchases of over 5000 yen.. you can make big savings on your big buys!
My understanding is that for an item to qualify for a tax free purchase it should not be used within Japan and taken out of Japan upon departure. Is that not accurate?
I keep reading comments on how don quijote is a tourist trap and everything is overpriced so it seems weird to me how it’s continuously recommended. Is it because of convenience? Does the tax free option compensate the higher prices? I’m about to visit so still figuring things out.
Because you can find everything there!
Is there somewhere I can buy wholesale candy, snacks etc
Wholesale?! Mmm not too sure myself
Which is the best place to buy women wear in budget (cheap) , Thank you in advance
maybe Uniqlo? ..
Hi where can I buy affordable casio watches in Tokyo?
You could try searching refurbish stores that sell good quality second hand goods, head to an area like akihabara where there are plenty of electronics and gadget stores or check out places like donki which would possibly have some usually on their upper floors. I don’t specifically know of a store just some ideas
Please has Japan opened its boarders for foreigners
Yep!
Is it considered rude to try on clothes at a store? I want to take some selfies in those Harajuku shirts, lol
I dunno you could try !haha]
Japan should further easy restrictions for tourists without mysos or pcr test before departure 72hours
that would be great.. however, MYSOS isnt too bad and actually helps get through the airport fast
