Modern Orchestral Arrangement - Karma Chameleon - MF4K

This piece is an orchestral arrangement of the popular pop song from the 80's - Karma Chameleon by Culture Club.
Objective:
To create a #Bridgerton styled string ensemble treatment of a pop song. This song was influenced by the styling go chamber music in the popular show and I wanted to see other songs come to life in a similar way.
Treatments:
In using only strings in some woodwind instruments how do you create the idea of a rhythm unit without using percussion. In this case the contrabass and cello had very staccato / pizzicato patterns that formed the basis of the song. Other instruments such as the viola and violin 2 parts provided harmony as well as contrapuntal ideas which were interspersed with the woodwinds instruments to highlight key motifs from the original song. While this is a shortened version of the original, the main melody is well recognised within the arrangement.
Conclusion:
This was a lot of fun in working out key components of the music and playing with the texture and feel of these components. While the rhythm is unorthodox, it conveys the feel of the steady rhythmic pulse of the music.
