God I'm going to miss this man. It means so much that 30 years ago, the men who's match got me into wrestling (Ric v Sting) are back together on TV still wrestling, and I get to witness this final run. Truly something Special AEW is giving us.
I’m sorry bro. The people that got u into wrestling have the 5 Moves of doom and are overrated af. Ric: eye poke, chop, knee on grounded opponent, chopblock, figure 4. Sting: stinger splash, scoop slam, scorpion death drop, scorpion leg lock.
This has been a very disappointing end to stings career. these matches are mediocre. He’s fit enough for some singles matches, not these god damn tag matches. give sting some good opponents like bryan danielson etc, people who can bump for him and are him look good. he’s stuck with a group of boring mediocre wrestlers. Hell, darby vs sting would be awesome.
Seriously, Sting's final run is just one of the most feelgood stories in wrestling. Just going around receiving his due acclaim for what is truly one of the most legendary careers ever. Darby is living his best life, and you can tell Ric loves to be here as well. The Scorpion Death Drop is still one of the most decisive finishers ever. Put some respect on the Workhorsemen, though. They've done such solid work up and down the card in AEW, it's a crying shame that they haven't actually been signed.
When Darby Alin's career is over he will look back at this and say he got to live a true wrestling fans wildest dreams teaming and learning from true legends in Sting and Ric Flair 🔥...
The promo before this match said it all. Darby didn't say a damn thing but the sheer glee on his face as he stood beside Sting and Flair cutting a promo is where I saw Darby the wrestling fan because how TF can you not understand the honor he's gotten
Sting has been my favorite wrestler for nearly 40 years I love that Darby Allin and especially Ric Flair are there with him during his final run Tony Khan and AEW are giving him the farewell that he deserves Thank You Sting for all of the memories and I will miss you!
Sting and Darby Allin have chemistry with each other in their own way and they have been friends since they met each other in AEW and they have never been friends before but they both have been very close friends since they started working together in AEW and they both have been really supportive of each other in that regard and they are very supportive of each other
I am so happy flair is there for sting! Darby is never going to take these moments for granted. and can we just love the fact they are finding something for flair!
@@Mr.Majestic77 Yeah I caught that. And the SECOND he was done with that, he was as far away from him and Sting as humanly possible During that promo segment later, he just looked like he did NOT wanna be there. Just so antsy and clearly uncomfortable. I can't blame him, I'm sure a straight edge like Darby doesn't wanna be associated with an unapologetic alcoholic/sexual assailant like Ric.
@@knightshousegames Sting looked at Darby like "who in the hell are you to not pay respect to Ric Flair". I also seen how Sting and Ric Flair somewhat distance themselves from Darby during their after match promo.
@@Mr.Majestic77 I think Darby respects Sting a lot, and thats the only reason he's there at all, because he knows how important all of this is to him. Obviously Ric is important to Sting, and Sting is important to Darby, so Darby is going to be there, and just try his best not to interact with the creepy old guy if he can. You could see Darby was playing off of Sting a little bit and trying to pretend Ric wasn;t there. Ric obviously couldn't play off anything Darby was doing, so he gravitated towards Sting, and Sting took the spotlight, I don't think it was purposeful distancing, at least on Sting's part. Of course, we could just be being worked and this is all part of the setup for the Revolution match, but with AEW, usually when there is obvious awkwardness like this, we've learned that usually isn't a work.
I think you guys are reaching way too deep into that. Darby is straight business when he heads to the ring, always has been. Dude had his game face on and probably didn't expect to be dapped up by Ric Flair lol he was also about to get his ass whooped so there that too 😂
I still remember when Tony Khan asked on Twitter who we thought should be in AEW and I said Sting... I'm glad he came back for this last run and thank you Sting.
Well he had a great career and I'm proud of Sting and what he has done for the last 30 years. Without him, there would be no professional wrestling companies existing today.
I’m going to miss seeing him and I say this with a heavy heart but that last flair match did nothing to help his legacy….these last few years we got extra of STING in AEW was a blessing to see the man they call Sting do what he loves… i can’t see him managing anyone and staying around bc he will want to wrestle. Heavy is my heart that says Enjoy the rest of your life Sting, you earned it
Darby is amazing..hes not been 100% for time ,he went through the mill 2 days earlier in a torturous match..a pillar of aew for sure, forever punching above his weight...
The Workhorsemen are the best jobbers in AEW. I legit think they have a chance of pulling an upset than even Butcher and Blade could. Just really, really good moves and teamwork.
Man I really gotta start emotionally preparing myself for Stings final match. Maybe buy a few boxes of tissues because I know the tears will run for this fucking legend 😭
So glad to see Sting in Charlotte again. I saw him for the first time in Greensboro in '87, and will be there for his last match, just as it should be. Thank you Tony Khan for making this happen!
Im glad Tony Khan didnt have Sting lose this entire run. I have followed his entire career. He put over MORE than enough people. This is his victory lap
Darby Alin vs Sting feels like the true dream match especially to end Sting's legendary career... Sting's whole reason for coming to AEW was to find his successor and he found it in Allin who has grown tremendously 🔥.... Sting passing the torch officially to Darby would be a true lasting highlight moment in AEW history 😎....
Not gonna happen Darby is going to train to climb mount Everest. No chance he faces sting. I am thinking Chris Jericho would be ideal. Maybe Adam Cole too since they can use the devil angle to get ric flair to cross over as the one who wanted to play devil's advocate and this was a set up from the beginning with Cole creating this faction.
Seriously? A spot monkey with zero personality or mic skills is your choice to take the mantle of Sting, one of the all time greats that put WCW on his back? I don't think so
If it wasn't for these two amazing professionals I'm not sure where AEW would be, Sting with the Golden Legacy, and Darby with the absolute insane skills! I know I'll be Sad happy during march
1:26-1:41 How in the hell Darby Allin is going leaving Ric Flair hanging on that initial handshake? Darby almost walked past Ric Flair and Sting looked pissed. No matter his past controversies, Ric Flair is a legend. Hoping that Ric Flair and Sting (along with Jeff Jarrett) are on the AEW booking committee, once Sting's in-ring career is up.
Gonna miss the Icon Stingggggggg after when he and Darby Allen team up with Adam Copeland to beat Christian Cage Nick Wayne and Killswitch sad to see him retire
Damn i was actually in charlotte on this day. I had no idea aew was in town. 😢 i would have absolutely gone to this. Im just glad i got to see sting wrestle live once in my life already. Unfortunately i know ill never get a chance to again.

If he lives past his Mt. Everest climb. My belief is he may not. Sadly.
He can take his cues from Edge, when Edge teamed with Hogan. If he does, he'll do well.

I love the Collision Titantron stage set up.

I can't say how proud I am of JD Drake. Having felt those chops, and JD just stared down Ric Flair.... wow!!!

Yeah sting will definitely be missed in wrestling he truly is an icon just like sting and ric flair will always be legends forever
