Hii Deeksha, Yes you can prepare for sas examination but only for common papers because you don't know the branch which you will be allotted. Generally commerce background personnel will be posted in Commerical branch but till your branch allotment you can prepare for common papers. It depends on branch. In Commercial Audit,you will get promotion as AAO within 2 months if you pass and civi audit,it depends on vacancies so it may take 1-2 years.
In central government,you gey full salary amount during temporary or probation period. The salary structure is different from state government in central government. Thanks for writing me.
It requires 3 years of qualifying service but every year cag issue a letter for 1 year relaxation so it may be 2 years. In the other hand if cag does not give relaxation then it will be 3 years.

@@shubhamjain-tc3ky brother As per my suggestion if you are satisfied with your job then continue. In other hand,if you want to join Cag then think about following things that are: 1. Posting place: if you get civil audit and not posted in your Home State then you can get only 1 time mutual transfer and after passed SAS exam for AAO , it may take 1-2 year for promotion. But If you will get commercial audit then you get fast promotion and also transfer. 2. In CAG you frequently go on tour when you will be AAO. In salary aspects CAG is good.
