Nice cap... Thank-you for modelling the cap at the beginning. So many videos are just people sewing on the machine...Who needs that? It is nice to know what you are actually trying to make.
Thank you very much for this. I'm beginning to teach myself upholstery and made one of these out of heavy white canvas as a lesson, and now it will not leave my head. I added 4 brass eyelets for ventilation, and it is very comfortable even in extremely hot weather. You rule!
it turned out so beautiful. thanks for the tutorial. i was looking for a tutorial for this hat and yours is by far the simpliest and easiest to follow along!!!!
This looks like a really good tutorial. Ill be making it once i have time if my last two brain cells can decipher the pattern drafting bit 😅 nice tutorial though.
you can do it! if you want to skip the pattern drafting, you can start with my tutorials with free pattern download like this one: ua-cam.com/video/EPhjFX8to4s/v-deo.html
That seam allowance offset handle for the cutting wheel is a genius idea! Is there a brand or vendor you can recommend? I have not seen this before. Edit: it looks like you are sewing on a Singer 301 machine. You must like it. What machines do you regularly use? What brand of steam-iron or other devices do you turn to most in your work? I want to know what tools the clever people like you use.
Thanks! unfortunately, the seam guide is vintage and discontinued. It’s from Olfa. you might still find it in the vintage market… I use mostly my singer 201 or singer 301. I like vintage sewing tools but not so particular about brands…usually use whatever is good enough and cheap😂
Personally, I would use faux leather because it would be so much easier to deal with than real leather. but real leather hat would be really cool too :)
