My best tip is the one I used. Allocate some extra money and get the lowest mileage and most mint condition RCF you can find. I wanted the TVD/CF as well, but that is personal choice if one wants to fork the extra money. I see majority of RCFs in the used market are either abused or poorly kept with crap aftermarket parts on them. Also, finding maintenance history on most is almost impossible so most of the ones that are in the low 40s or below have some hidden issues. A really good and mint condition 2015 or 2016 should be in the high 40s or around 50k, but it is worth it to find one that is really well taken care of and accident free. Maintenance is expensive on RCF and forking extra money upfront to save on maintenance cost and great ownership is totally with it. I got mine with only 6000 miles with everything OEM almost new and zero problems in 7 years. Cheers
Dude, your insights and extra tips/comments are really helpful! I’ve pinned your comment so that all people can see this and use it as a guide! You’re appreciated 🤟🏾!
Another point is, I have won against many turbocharged 6 cylinders and TT V8s. It depends on knowing your opponent and exactly what you are dealing with. Power to weight ratio wins all of the roll races on the highway. If you are in 2nd gear at 50 mph and coming up against a turbo 6 cylinder and V8, I generally know how much they weight and how much power they are making if they are not heavily modded. Generally, most cars are not heavily modded so its end up going well if the power to weight ratio is in my favor. However, there would be many that have a lot of mods and they would be faster as the power to weight favors them heavily even they weight 400 - 500 lbs more than the RCF. Case in point, many races against turbo V8s and i6/V6 could be won if you have an advantage in the power to weight ratio.
Stop using mobile 1, use ester based oil. You have a flat tappet cam car and GF6 grade oil was not tested with engines like yours. Redline, VR1, Joe Gibbs, amsoil signature series, and royal purple (high end series). Stop using mobile 1, use ester based oil. Making power with that car ain’t hard. Go get a tune by “Tuned by LOI”, it’s better to turbo the car. The valley plate is not every car.. it depends on if you changed your coolant frequently. Pink coolant is advised to be changed every 150k which is not right. Change it earlier, and the red coolant was advised every 30kmiles. My guess is change your coolant more. You need a camber kit in the rear. Figs engineering has bushings available as well. Ceika coil overs should do better. Nice car bro just get the suspension work, and change your fluids. (Edit: Pink coolant is 100k miles)
Interesting! I’ve read forums of people that changed their Coolant, but the Valley Plate still happened. Most F owners i’ve met/encountered has had a Valley plate leak, but some have not (those was super low miles). Also, I actually switched over to Pennzoil! That Mobile 1 container was empty. And making power isn’t hard, but it can be expensive and jeopardize the reliability of the overall car. A friend of mine that’s supercharged is on his second motor. He also had everything professionally installed. The most power you’d make on F cars when Naturally aspirated is about 470whp, maybe slightly more depending on your tune. Also, new suspension parts will be installed shortly! Thanks so much for your insight, dude! You rock!
Also, i agree with the rareness of this car! I’ve been in my RC350 for a year now and I’m desperate to have an RC-F. I never thought I’d love having a Lexus but i really do now and wish i had more power.. so RC-F will likely be next. It’s completely livable! Great visibility, nice luxury interior (i don’t like the infotainment though - no CarPlay for the 2015-2017 models which sucks).
Yes, the RCF is great! I personally don’t mind the infotainment system because it’s so straight forward and easy to navigate. I actually prefer having buttons 😂
Love it brethren I’m keeping mines. Hey tomorrow is the RR Racing open house event from 11-3 swing thru me and my son will be there with the rcf and isf. Bless up
Thank you, bro! Super glad you’re keeping yours! Also, I want meaning to go last week, but it rained. It’s supposed to be abit better tomorrow, but I don’t think i’ll be able to make it because of my blown coilovers 🥲
I had a 3015 RC-F with the TVD and Carbon fiber package. I ended up getting rid of it because of the transmission. It's a great car but the transmission really sets it back. If it had the 10 speed from the LC, it would be an entirely different vehicle.
I’m about to pull the trigger on a 107k 2017 as my daily the mileage is killing me but it’s the only closest to me at the moment, I plan to obviously buy a low mileage car later on down the line but for the price and immaculate service/maintenance history this really is the one, I hear at 100k and over they maintain health up until 300k
To answer the kid it can pull 1.3 Gs on a turn maybe a little more with your mods if you didn't cheap out on tires and suspension. Probably 1 under breaking. Maybe 0.6 under acceleration they are pretty slow.
Thank you, bro! I was trying to explain that, but I wanted to give a visual, but lil dude wasn’t my kid so I maintained appropriate boundaries, but next time I see him, i’ll explain what you said to him. Thank you, bro!

I got my Sti to 760 wheel and I wish I could just trade someone straight up for an rc. The rc is worth more but I've spent so much money to get here😭. Now that I'm mid 30s I'd just rather the luxury and smooth ride and these also sound/look incredible. Sick car sir🫡
Oh wow! 760 Wheel is no joke, bro! That’s awesome! Compared with the RC’s 474HP, you may feel abit underwhelmed, just saying lol, but the sound and the smooth ride paired with its glorious lines and ridges is honestly impeccable and could be possibly worth it 🤟🏾
I've been seriously considering getting one. Just can't decide which year to get but now that i know about the coolant issue, i wonder how prevalent it is between year models.
I said 500WHP. 510hp on these cars is possible, but I don’t know of any RCF that has made 500whp being naturally aspirated. I’m for sure over 500hp currently.
@Mr_Odog that's what i meant. It's making 510 WHP. When they say a car makes x hp they always mean wheel horsepower and because you lose power at the wheel, your crank hp will always be more than your whp
