Thanks for the reaction, Don! The main reason I requested this was to me, it was an invitation to escape to the great state of Texas where many of us are still trying to hold onto the values and lifestyles portrayed in the song. With today's political climate and cultural shifts, some may find reprieve in a return to simpler, honest living. I also think there was a subtle jab at Nashville...from memory, Larry Fleet was a Nashville bro-country dude that got disillusioned with where his career was going. He found inspiration in the Texas Country and outlaw scene and according to him, this is what he prefers...bro-country just paid the bills to get him here.
Oh my this is great! Thanks Dave and thanks Don, what a wonderful start to the day!
Thanks Dan, for a good morning selection. Very nice musical arrangement. His voice reminds me of someone (not Brett). I wonder if he is related to Freddy Fleet from the Andy Griffith Show? 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for your reaction
Hi Don, it appears that "1979" only refers to the name of the recording studio. I found the video on their Facebook page and it was recorded live at the 'Welcome to 1979' recording studio in Nashville. It was posted June 2022. The title on the video is mis-leading because they didn't type the entire name of the studio, so it just says "Live from 1979".
Don. I could be wrong but I thought he was saying "Tennessee will always be right where I left it, so maybe I'll try Texas". Sounded like he was dropping off on the "it" at the end of the words "left it" so it sounds like he's just saying "live". But like I said, I could be wrong. It was kind of hard to understand in places. Our accents in the south tend to get lazy sometimes so we lose some words at the end of sentences when we're talking occasionally, lol 🤠 Great reaction by the way!
@39thala Spot on, thanks for clarifying!
1979 is a recording studio if I’m not mistaken. Larry would’ve been in diapers then in 1979, if he was born, I’m not sure how old he is lol. Great reactions! 👍👍👍👍👍
