It is believed these were the only 9 minutes in Wales without rain this year.
I own a 1979 450sl, the passion and poetry of this presentation speaks so so well to the love and passion this car evokes.
Timeless Classic.
Man, you guys really scored getting Morgan to do these!
Had a 1989 500 SL Euro pearl black on black from 2007 to 2012 when I was 36 . Every moment spent driving and pampering this elegant machine was surreal and special ! Some of the most memorable years ever. I know I'm going to buy another very soon - YOLO right :) ?
I'm 3 years late discovering this film, but I need to comment that it was incredible, obviously, Carfection. Charles Morgan was the perfect presenter. The history, the nostalgia, and the music! I almost had tears in my eyes by the end.
I love this guy! Please make a lot of videos with him!
This specific car you drove is just a dream. The colour of the exterior and interior, speechless.
YES!
Can i take the beige with the standard hubcaps.
No metallic paint or alloy wheels needed its just as adorable 🍀
I don't normally post comments but I have to make an exception in this case, to say that Mr. Morgan is very charismatic and I'd love to see more of him! Thoroughly enjoyed this review. Also Carfection sounds weird.
This style of Mercedes is just perfect...elegant and sporty, simple lines, just the perfect, classy, tasteful, roadster...Beautiful
If the Beeb had really wanted to make Top Gear a sensible programme again, they'd have asked Mr Morgan to present it. He knows his business (literally), he has a brilliant turn of phrase and he has this quintessential of qualities I look for in a good presenter: I like to listen to him.
uhm, clarkson, may and the hamster... nothing else will do or would do... clarkson getting fired is the end of top gear, I never watched 23 season, rewatched the first 21.5 about 5 times now, on 6th rewatch atm and I never intend to consider watching the 23...
I can listen to this guy for hours tbh. Very enjoyable way of talking about cars imo.
amazing ode to the R107. You just made me so proud of owning one, thanks!
Fantastic tribute to the R107!
The SL 500....What a stunning looking car ...would love one in Old English white ,the perfect colour for a lot of classic cars.
Excellent review excellent narrator and Mercedes is the best car ever made especially r107 1971-1989
Charles is the quintessential gentleman, I love these videos, especially this one being a huge fan of the r107
Great to have a knowledgeable and engaging presenter, let's have more of Charles please!
I've always loved this car, ever since I was child and saw one in an old photograph. Absolutely stunning.
Loving this series, keep up the great work! Thanks.
My dad got one of these in 1972. Still my summer daily driver.
This is a great piece of film. Of course, I am partial, I own a 560SL, 1986... and I love it too.
Thoroughly enjoying Charles Morgan's reviews
thank you mr. morgan... this is one of my favorite classic indeed.
Morgan is a great presenter! I really like how he describes the car, and it shows how passionate he is about cars.
One of the most elegant SL ever made ❤️
Thank you, Charles Morgan!
What a car and I would like one too, hopefully someday I am fortunate enough to own an SL! Charles Morgan.... you are a fantastic presenter, so humble and would have so many great stories to tell I'm sure!
I love these old SL500s. I like how, if you have one that's clean enough, it can be casual or black tie. You could rock up anywhere in one of these and not look out of place.
Wow! Can we judge this and all the videos alike on their substance and not the prefecture that is their name. XCAR/Carfection earned their following on the beauty of the videography and attention to detail in their presentation. All their videos exude passion for wheels in motion and the addition of Charles Morgan only adds to value and class this channel has to offer. Hats off to you chaps and keep up the good work!
Thank you Mr. Morgan, I am enjoying the classics.
These new Charles Morgan videos are tops
Great series with Mr Morgan, love these and all the 190s, 300s and Pagoda SLs.
Now one of my favorite car-related series on UA-cam
What a fantastic review. I adore the R 107 and I used to have a 350 SL from 1971 and a 450 SL from 1973.
to this day this gen SL is one of my favorite cars in history plus it's freaking beautiful
Superb! Thanks for the great video. Mr Morgan is a superb host, this was a great video. My father had a 500 r107 when I was about five, in blue. I never liked it much but now they really look beautiful to my eyes.
My dad got one of theses back in 1972 and it is now my summer daily driver.
The SL Shop inventory is always astounding
Not a Mercedes’ fan but when I saw this, it’s my fav Mercedes’ ever it looks so damn cool
"Having had a hand in designing cars..." well sir, that is a very elegantly humble manner to make a relevant point !
Thanks so much for this series, this is a beautiful car, and Charles Morgan's ever-youthful enthusiasm for noble machines is a thrill and joy to behold.
Keep on trucking ! (from France)
Now I want one.
I love this series!
Many thanks Mr. Morgan and Carfection for making this
The car is soo beautiful.. Charles I want one too
I learned how to drive in a 1983 380SL. I will always be a Mercedes man because of that car.
Charles Morgan; the gentleman's reviewer.
It’s like a black Texido it never goes out of style Mercedes R107 timeless class I am a owner of the 560 Sl fun to drive
It's simply a wonderful car...is the most classic of SL line,in my opinion...
Its a beautiful and legendary machine in true terms. Its a car of the generals.
Instant upvote. Love this series!
You're amazing to have such love and passion for this particular car. Thank you. 👍👍👍
My dream car ... fantastic review & knowledge. Thanks!
I agree carfection is a bit of a clumsy name. But i wanted to say this series with Charles Morgan has been brilliant. I've really enjoyed these videos
best review on UA-cam - thank you Charles Morgan.....
Excellent, entertaining and informative presentation.
And I really want one too.
I think if Mr Morgan drove a well sorted and fully loaded (MB suspension options) R129 he would be thinking, now here is luxury SL that could be a competitor to Morgan sports cars.
Would love to see such a review from him and an R129 supplied by the SL shop.
great and honest review... from a '83 500SL owner
I like to Equate this Mercedes like my first crush on a girl this was the absolute first Mercedes I ever sat in as a kid and I remember my moms friend had one and I was in a trance as a kid looking at how beautiful it looked to me I fell in love instantly I can remember walking away from it looking at it like wow shes a beauty even at the tender age of 6 that's something that I will forever remember about this particular Mercedes and it will forever be a Nostalgia for me that will never fade I just cant wait to get one of my own in impeccable condition wish me luck
Those old merc's have been getting under my skin for quite some time and this was just a sublime video of a perfect old merc... I love the fact that the SL Shop converts them to a manual... i would prefer a 5 speed as less shifting would suit this cars big engine in my opinion... brilliant job in the video! keep it up guys
This is a stunning video! I learned so much about my R 107 from watching-- particularly the windshield frame safety design and its strength. If this is any indication of Charles Morgan's talents, I would say sign him up for a show on Netflix or UA-cam. A very intelligent man.
Lovely video- thanks! I l really enjoyed your presentation: It's so different from the kind of reviews I sometimes have to struggle through on UA-cam.
This series is amazing!
Not sure when, but at some point the marketplace will realize how incredibly beautiful and classy the R107 is. In my opinion, it's one of the most elegant automotive designs ever. While older Porsches are bid to the moon, these SL's are ridiculously inexpensive. Eventually, the marketplace will move its chips to the R107 table and the 560SL will realize its rightful place in the history of the automobile.
loving the series so far, good presenter.
"The car recovers itself remarkably quickly unlike American cars" spot on lol.
Morgan is as good as this as he was at making classic British roadsters. I've almost forgiven him the mispronunciation of Nordschleife in an earlier episode.
Great format. Keep these coming.
I ll take this car anytime... my childhood dream car... from Bobby Ewing's red merc from Dallas, Hart-to-Hart'yellow merc.. so classic
Another gem from Charles Morgan
And yet another car to add to the wish list!
really a great car, i have one US 560 SL ...amazing to drive the car in Cornwall (GB) or Umbria (I)
Excellent review. Good understanding of the concept of the car.
Now i really want one too!
God I love this car
That rally version of the SL looks absolutely fantastic!
I wish you had mentioned the wind deflectors on the side pillars, that drive airflow over the top so it doesn't spill round the sides at you. Add a wind deflector at the back and it's supremely free of wind buffet, even with the windows down.
I really enjoyed watching this video. Also thank you for helping to raise the value of my 1989 560 SL :) although is not for sale and wont be for a long long time.
Charles Morgan's classics is my new favorite youtube segment. Keep it up!
Brilliantly poetic
You will never appreciate what this car can do until you own one!
I didn't know about the Wankel experimenting nor the strengthened roof , what an interesting video by Mr.Morgan !
And that's 3 in row brilliant videos from Charles and not English literature this time but British archaeology included :)
Fabulous - Charlie you're a true renaissance top bloke...what a wonderful and poetic review of a truly great classic!!
I think Charles Morgan does a fantastic job! I would love to see him and these review videos keep coming. !!
Great video and Morgan adds a charming authenticity to it. One observation, it is a 500SL. SL500 was a designation used on the R129 onwards
OH, THANK YOU FOR THIS.
Gorgeous video of a timeless design masterpiece
Brilliant car, stunning!
Some how Charles Morgan takes the car review and flips it. Usually its smug reviewers who have no automotive experience except for as a critic. Hes a car designer by family and personal trade and some how he acts as if hes the luckiest guy to drive these cars. Such a incredible change of pace.
7:01 - That shot is too beautiful! 😭
Superb cars those old Mercs...what class! Not like today’s gizmo loaded electronic video game cars.
Great video, I love the fact that this restorer can put a nice 6-speed manual in these. I would love to have one with a 6-speed, updated brakes and a few more HPs under to bonnet.
For me it`s one of the car`s most even building
It's beatifull and powerfull
The 500 SL looks absolutely great, but the 450 SL is slightly better looking... love those lights from the 450 SL
Stunning.
Beautiful video - thank you
Understated, refined and elegant. Both the Man and the Car. Please do more videos with Mr. Morgan and his eclectic choice of Classics. It certainly rivals and is on par with 'Petrolicious'
This video was very special to me because back here, when I was a child, my Grandfather, used to rave about the Benzes of the 70s and the 80s and used to drive those cars, borrowed from his friend, home to show us. It reflected the typical qualities of dispassionate perfection which we adored. Thanks!
I don't mind the name, "Carfection" because that name certainly reflects your channel's spirit! ( Car + Perfection = Morgan + Classics )
Another great video from Charles - he should have his own dedicated channel
Dear Carfection: This is by far my favorite video. I love the classics. I just purchased and old Benz from 1968. Thanks you so much for the time and effort put on producing such top quality material. After school it makes my day during the weekends to watch your videos. Thank you so much. I would love to know which production company you use for the background music. AudioNetwork by any chance? Or at least the author and name of the song from the intro music. Thank you so much and greetings from across the pond =D
I love Charles Morgan's bits on cars. He has a delivery on camera that is just brilliant.
